  1. I'm in the "other" group. I seem to be becoming an OT FOHO! I haven't had one scent yet that I haven't liked. I'm on a mission to try every scent they have. Customer service ain't shabby either...I always get a quick & informative reply from Suz. And, I've realized that I can use less than the rec usage amount & get a good scent. BUT, I do buy from other suppliers...waaaaaaay too damn much! Sharon
  2. Yep, pretty darn good stuff & great ingredients. I've tried several of the lotion samples, the body mist, & the hand salve. I'm picky when it comes to lotion & body mist. I love the great ingredients in their products & while the products are good, they just weren't what I was looking for at the time. But, DH is a tough-skinned, dry, rusty butt, and all the lotions moistened him right up! Sharon
  3. Yep, sure did. I posted a pic in the gallery. OK, I told you I'm math challanged What the hell am I doubling?? The dimensions? I've been doing some extra reading on CP..I'm getting closer & closer to taking the plunge. Lord, Lord, Lord...weights & measurements are gonna drive me to an early grave!
  4. Ok, I know...8 months soaping & no pics. :embarasse I've really been getting a feel for everything & mainly doing 2-layer, chunky soap & suspending. I had to post this...flaws & all! This is my 1st 3 layer anything...ever! I needed an extra hand b/c I forgot that the Honey base sets so damn fast! I was a little lazy & didn't feel like stirring forever to suspend the oatmeal, so most of it sank to the bottom of the mold. My mini-masterpiece is Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey, the milk being Goat's Milk base. And, of course it's scented with OM&H from Lonestar. A little sweet for me, but perfect for the theme. Sooooooooo, what'cha think? Any advice to offer when doing more than 2 layers? Thanks Sharon
  5. I found a # of Virgin OO w/ SB Oil at Dollar Tree. Been using it in M&P & it seems to be working fine. Saves me some money too which DH likes! Sharon
  6. I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! I found my notes from when I first started soaping. Thank goodness I recorded how much base I used in the small mold. Still could use help w/ the larger mold, though. It's a massive silicone loaf mold I got off Ebay so I could do huge chunky soap. Anyone? Thanks Sharon
  7. Hey Donna The mold dimensions are 5.5 L x 4 W x 2.5 Deep & 10 L x 4.25 W x 3 Deep. Help me , PLEASE! My hands are burning to make this soap! I have no idea why :undecided Sharon
  8. I have 2 molds that I want to do 3 layer loafs in. One holds almost 6#'s of water & the other holds 2# 3oz of water. Since M&P soap in way heavier than water, how can I figure out how much base the molds will hold? Do I double it? :undecided I'm very math challanged, so please try to explain it to me like I'm a 2 yr old All help is greatly appreciated! TIA Sharon
  9. Oh, well maybe scratch mine too...I haven't tried the "modified" either
  10. Hi Jade I use or have used ALL of SFIC's bases and I love it! I've never had a problem w/ sweating. I'm convinced that sweating could be due to climate or maybe sometimes the FO. Try wrapping them when they are set & cool, that may help. I used to wrap immediately, but not anymore. I leave my soap on a tiered rack for a few days, & then wrap. SFIC's clear & crystal clear is really clear, but I tend to not scent it unless I'm coloring it. Some FO's can make it cloudy or make it turn yellowish over time. The low sweat clear...another story. It's just not as clear as the regular...I haven't quite figured out why yet. Less glycerin? I don't know. Anyone? But, it comes in handy for testing scents when you don't want to use the good stuff. HTH Sharon
  11. OK OK, I quit. You win! Naked soap :spit:
  12. Damn, Teri, those are so pretty! Swirling M&P has been a thorn in my side since the beginning. I've been given advice from some hella soap swirlers, but it just doesn't work for me. Keep posting, I need the inspiration!
  13. Yep, what they said. Heavy additive load for 4 oz of base. I've added distilled water w/ no problems when I've remelted butt fugly stinky soap. I'm math challenged, so when I want to test, I stick to 8oz of base. Nothing lower. It's just easier for me to cut my ingredients in half. Maybe you could try again with 8 oz base & 1/2 TBS of everything else, but I'm not skilled in using honey & milk powders so maybe you may have to play around w/ that. I would normally add 1/2 TBS of FO to 8 oz of base, but depending on the strength, you may need less. HTH Oh, by the way, if you have some Mango Madness from OT, maybe you could use that instead & send Prairieannie a bar to test for you. She LUUUUUUUVS her some OT Mango Madness! Sharon
  14. Yep. Pretty good & lots to choose from. Make sure they have a check mark in the column for what you want to use the scent for. Some of their stuff is candle or body only. Oh, their Oakmoss rocks! It's my 2nd fave Oakmoss scent! Have fun, & welcome to your new addiction! Sharon
  15. Thanks, Carrie! Now I can look into getting 1...or 2...or...LOL Sharon
  16. I'm playing today so I came to search the board on how to mix scents. Lo & behold here's carol K with some help! Thanks! Sharon
  17. Sometimes you have to have a melt-down in order to see clearly. I saw my sister go through this repeatedly during the first several years of opening her bakery (this is her 10th year in biz) The last major melt was 3 years ago...and it was a mother! She shut down, packed up my neice up & shipped her to me...and literally dropped out of sight for over a month! But when she came back, she had a new game plan. My sister has been kicking ass & taking names the last 3 years under the new plan & I'm proud to say, she grossed almost 2 mil in 2006! Long story short, she had to fall apart in order to get some clarity! Now, go back to being "Enchanted" with doing what you obviously love! Sharon
  18. I have this 2# bag of dead sea salts from WSP (purchased back when I wasn't mad at them!) Trouble is, I have no idea why I have it! :undecided Was I gonna put it in soap? Make bath salts? WTF do I do with it? All the bath salts I've seen look like crystals. These are grainy enough, not powdery, but can they handle FO w/o disolving? Geez, I feel full of dumbness lately. Sharon
  19. I see these molds all the time...can these be used w/ M&P? Does collapsible = able to lift the loaf out of the mold?
  20. Yep, SAO is Sweet Almond Oil And yep, I'm using M&P. Probably should have put that in somewhere. I'm gonna give it a shot & see what happens. Thanks guys! Sharon
  21. I'm a FOHO addicted to samples I have a boat load of FO's to test. Instead of putting them in soap, I was thinking of putting a bit in some SAO to get a feel for the scent. That way, if the scent doesn't do it for me, there's still enough left for someone to use. Do you think that would be effective enough? How do you test? Thanks Sharon
  22. Wow, how pretty. I just pulled out my water soluble paper with the intent to play this weekend. Thanks for the pretty inspiration! Sharon
  23. Is there a difference? I brought a 6-cavity rose mold from Walmart but I haven't used it yet.
  24. I did a search for Solas FO's & a gazillion other variations and boy did I open a pandora's box! LOL I decided to post & in the mean time, schedule a day or night where I could leisurely read through the threads. Thanks again Hun!
