  1. Hi Sara My girlfriend called the doctor & connected us & I got the go-ahead from him that night. He said it was fine as long as I wasn't using EO's, blah, blah, blah. I made a boat load of goodies for her to use, plus a room spray so she can smell it all day if she wants! I put everything in a basket & took it to her today. The look on her face was priceless, she was so happy! So, it all turned out great! Thanks a bunch for responding Sharon
  2. That Monoi looks delicious:drool: I LUUUUV Monoi in anything! And those gift sets ain't shabby either, just don't show them to my sisters! Beautiful job & inspiration! Sharon
  3. huh? And to answer your question, nope, nothing's simple, we'd get bored if it was
  4. Hmmm, interesting. Maybe I am trying too hard! Sharon
  5. I also add a little veggie oil based liquid soap sometimes & it does seem to help for those that like more lather. I prefer a more moisturizing bar, so in go the oils & a little bit of Palm Kernal Oil flakes to harden it. I agree with tamtam about a good, quality base. Everybody has his/her fave, but I love SFIC & a few other natural bases, they lather just fine to me. I tried others with the SLS, no comparison, did nothing for the skin (so I was told) but did give lots of bubbles. Try a few different bases & play, you'll find one you're happy with! Sharon
  6. Having ordered a lot of stuff in the past 3 months, I have to give a to a few who have helped & made the newness of it all less overwhelming by what I think was (is) good cs The Gourmet Rose: Heather ships my M&P at the speed of light (and flat rates!) extremely knowledgable about every product she sells (can't say that for some I've talked to)...personable & quickly answers my inquiries with detailed emails until I'M satisfied & never comes across like I'm a PITA Lotioncrafter: Jen quickly & friendly responds to every dumb question I have about that darn CME, even if I've already asked 100 x's Soaper Supplies WSP & NG MMS: Quick responses & updates on the site so you always know what's going on OT: Gotta love Suz & her dedication to cs when it comes to "her" oils The Pouch Depot: Had a CSR spend over 30 mins on the phone with me while I measured items so I could be sure to get the correct size organza bag, just so I wouldn't have to ship them back Lonestar gets a bow for quick shipping, but a  for email responses (a cs no-no in my book) I've ordered from others, but this is a "good cs" thread Basically for me, good cs means prompt, FAIR shipping & good communication, willingness to "make it right" no matter what, timely response to inquires & knowledge of the products they/the company sell(s) (i.e. NOT having to wait 7 dys for the 1 person who knows everything to return from vacation! geez) Sharon Damn, by the time I stirred the stew, folded & reloaded clothes, er...relieved myself, & came back to finish my post... all this! I better learn to keep up...fast!
  7. Aww, sorry about your soap :awww: But at least you smell good! What do you mean by "warmish"? You didn't let if fully harden before you used it? Was it wrapped? All I know how to make right now is M&P, and I'm in no way an expert, but everything I've read this far has said to "wrap as soon as set/cooled to prevent moisture loss/sweating" I wrap mine in plastic as soon as it's cool to the touch & I love adding extra oils just to see what'll happen. Some made my skin feel great & others just created a kind of "oil slick" ..too much for me, but great for DH's sensitive dry skin. I have no idea about the cyclo, though...but keep at it, you may just discover the secret to super-moisturizing M&P Sharon
  8. Gosh, Eugenia...you "sound" like my mother Very, very calm during my mild panic attacks! I was just about to edit the post to say I found the answer. Thanks for the response! Sharon
  9. Thanks Grumpy, Every bit of advice helps. This is bugging the heck out of me! Sharon
  10. Maybe this is a stupid question but I feel better if I ask. I been searching for 3 hours for info, but I'm coming up empty. I have a friend who wants me to make her aunt a couple of M&P bars with White Diamonds (type) FO (her aunt's fave)...her aunt is disabled AND fading away (dying) of liver cancer. If I can do anything to bring her a little smile, I'm on it...she's always been a really sweet lady who treated us all like we belonged to her. But I was wondering if FO could have some kind of weird effect on her condition...like (oh my God) speed up the process? I know some EO's shouldn't be used under certain conditions (high blood pressure, pregnancy etc), but fo's...:undecided Not looking for medical advice, just wondering if any of you may have heard anything concerning the 2 Before you say it, I know she's already dying due to that devil of a disease, but I'd hate to unknowingly do anything to her (or anybody) to help it along Am I overreacting?? TIA Sharon
  11. See, just like I said...we're all married to the same man! Takes someone else to repeat what we say before they'll listen
  12. I've been using liquid colorant for my M&P soap, could that be why I can't get a decent swirl to save my life? I think I remember reading something about gel colorants Could that possible help the swirl stay swirled? Where the heck do you buy gel colorants? I haven't seen any on any of the sites I've ordered from, but that could be because I wasn't looking. TIA Sharon
  13. Yeah...after how many years? I think we're ALL married to the same man!
  14. Thanks Crafty! I told my DH that a 2oz is about $7.00! Sharon

  16. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com They have flavor fragrance oils...haven't tried them yet...I just ordered a couple today HTH Sharon
  17. put coconut in my M&P? Not fresh coconut, but the kind you buy in the bag for baking. There are so many preservatives around...any recs on which one? I was cleaning my cabinets & realized that I have a lot of coconut. Some will get used for baking for the holidays, but the rest... This is so ridiculously fun! From FO's to molds...my obsession/addiction continues to grow...but it's all about creativity right TIA Sharon ETA: I sat looking at the coconut thinking it would probably just clog up my tub! I really need to go to bed
  18. Hi :wave:and welcome!! You've found a great place with really helpful & knowledgable(sp?) people! I've been making M&P for about 3 months now...but I feel myself getting closer & closer to trying CP...at least once. Enjoy! Sharon

  21. Heather, How does the GSO hold up as far FO staying power & oiliness? Does it still absorb quickly? Have you ever swapped the cyclo for FCO? Man, would be GREAT to use GSO...got plenty of that! Sharon
  22. Geez, I put a 2oz flavor oil in my cart...$12.23 to ship UPS!
