  1. I should warn you that some Ross stores are bigger than others, even within the same city. The one I saw them in was quite large, but it's like TJ Maxx, you can get some really good bargains! The big store had some really nice designer clothes, though another small store in one of the outlying suburbs is so bare and reminds me of a cheap, unkempt store. I think they may stock based on surrounding area. I think Philly or Cherry Hill should hopefully be good ones. I'm off to Lowes tomorrow to buy my first can of lye, and Big Lots to buy a big crock pot.
  2. Their stores look like they are limited to central and south Jersey locations, though never heard of a few of these towns. I lived for a while in Mount Holly (east of Cherry Hill). 3. Saw a variety of strainers (flat) in at least 5 sizes today at a Ross store and marked stainless steel. The middle size was $5.99 and was a brand called Polder.
  4. Made the rounds today shopping for a stick blender and crock pot (going to start with hot process soap in a crock pot). Went to Goodwill, Salvation Army, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross (2 different stores), Walgreens, Big Lots, and Macys. Purchased a stick blender with stainless steel detachable blender part (with chopper attachment I won't need), 250 watt with variable speed dial, Oster brand for $20 at Ross. Didn't purchase crock pot yet, as 4 quart looks kind of small since it's the soaping pot as well. Best price for 4 quart was $16 at Macys (with 20% off coupon), 5 quart for $20 at Big Lots, and $24 for a 6.5 quart at Big Lots. Anyone have an opinion as to which size crock pot would be the best to have long-term, I plan to start with a 2 lb. batch but will go larger if I can do this? The entire walk to all these stores was 7.28 miles, my exercise for the day.
  5. Thanks Oversoyed, you're right she said stock pot, oh darn:cheesy2: Guess I was just fantasizing about $10 crock pots!
  6. Mparadise, can I ask you where you found a crockpot for $10? I'm acquiring equipment and supplies for my first batch. Also, anyone have leads on stickblenders? No Walmart stores around here.
  7. FYI - If anyone is shopping for the #5 hard plastic containers, Cash & Carry has a really nice selection with measurements on the side in at least five different sizes and reasonably priced. They come in a round or square shape.
  8. Thanks Dogmom! Not sure I want to get zapped either :smiley2:
  9. Thank you all very much! The information is very helpful.
  10. Getting serious about attempting first batch of C&P soap. Gathering materials, yet desire to keep costs down until I see if I can actually do this successfully. For the plastic soaping containers, lye mix, oils, etc., what type of plastic containers have you found to work successfully? I have these plastic gallon tubs that ice cream comes in and wondering if those will hold up to this lye process? Thanks!
  11. I emailed them yesterday with that same question and they responded with RRD-29 as a start.
  12. Very nice! Love to see a picture of one up close!
  13. What does EBC stand for? Wanted to check them out.
  14. Very nice! How do they burn with the unusual shape and toppings?
  15. They look great, bubbles or not!
  16. Swans Candles has a shop not far from Genwax, may want to check them out!
  17. I really like the way it looks...and the scent combination sounds nice and is a great match!
  18. Amazing colors and swirls... have you unmolded it yet?
  19. The colors are so intense and look amazing! What kind of dye do you use? Odd to hear someone note scent too strong as usually people have the opposite problem.
  20. Excellent presentation..nice combo with the coffee bean clamshell!
