  1. I'd love to know where to get a few of these as well....if you don't mind. Thanks in advance!!
  2. Thanks all! I'm going to head to the dungeon this afternoon to do a few things and while I'm at it, I just "have to" try some of these scents. I'm thinking that I'll make myself a wickless jar and a few tarts with a few of these scents. (might even dip a bear....lol) What the heck!! I'll let you all know the outcome. By the way - since she was generous enough to give up all this stuff, I'm thinking that maybe I'll make her a killer "thank you" basket. Inside, i'll put a warmer and a bazillion tarts (some made with her scents - if they work). I figure that's the least I can do as she seriously gave me 43 (16oz.) bottles of scents - most of which were full (or nearly full) As I said - it was like Christmas here!!!
  3. I don't post often, but I have a question that I'm hoping that someone can help me with. A friend of mine made candles - quite a few years ago. I'm honestly not sure how long ago. She's in process of moving and found a case of jars as well as a bunch of bottles of scents in her basement. She generously gave them to me. It was like Christmas that day lol. BUT - I have NO idea how old these bottles of scents are. They're from Missy's Candle Supply. (out of Ohio, I believe) I've tried to find it online, and came up with nothing. None of the bottles are "sucked in" on the sides - which I hear sometimes occurs with older oils. Is this stuff safe to use? I thought that maybe I'd make them into tarts/melts as I make quite a few of these. But, I'm a little nervous. Should I just toss the whole bunch of it? I'm at wits end here - as they smell absolutely wonderful ,,,, but....how old is too old? Any advise would be greatly appreciated....
  4. I only know a Canadian supplier but thought you may want to check her out. I've purchased them from here and they don't have paper attached to the foil. There is a layer of paper between each foil but not attached. (at least the ones that I purchased didn't have a paper backing) You may want to give her a call to be sure that she still has the kind that you want. Her name is Sue. http://www.saffireblue.ca/packaging/foil_packaging_index.html
  5. Louise- I have this "wooden thing" - for lack of better words, in my window ledge, that my Grandma had for years. I don't know what she used it for. It kind of looks like a mallot with a rounded end. So - when I was pressing the bath bomb into the cupcakes I glaced up and noticed it. I washed it off and added a little saran wrap around the end and pressed down hard. It worked like a charm. My daughter laughed at me because I actually had a real use for this "dust collector".....
  6. Sabrina: I pm'd you a very loooonnng message.....lol Almost a book!!!!
  7. Thanks all! Lyndsay, I just played early one afternoon - not sure how long it took to actually make them. BUT I DO KNOW that if I can do it, anyone can... I think it took me longest to try to figure out how to put the topping on half way decent...lol. Guess I should have paid more attention to when Mom used to do cupcakes....lol Thanks again all!!
  8. Thanks all! I did try to whip some m&p soap in with the FBB first, but it made it the devil to pipe on top. That's why I went with the shea butter...lol. I may try again with soap sometime...but for now, I'll use these up...lol The bath beads are a cute idea too!! Will keep that in mind...
  9. Those are way too cute. I'm definitely going to have to order a little bit more m&p soap and see what "creations" I can come up with. Thanks for the inspiration....lol
  10. Thanks all! And, yes, they were a lot of fun to make. I'm already planning another batch but possibly mixing the m&p curly things into a batch of cp soap. I'm thinking that I'd like a summer scent. Haven't planned it 100% yet, but will be sure to let you know how they turn out.
  11. Ok, this is all that I have for pics. I'm new to adding pictures and don't know how to make them bigger....sorry. The last one is when it was still in the mold. Thought I'd throw it in...
  12. I totally agree about the cp soap. I cp'd some about a week ago but I did the top a pink color (unscented) and I'm waiting patiently for the bottom to turn brown.....It was the only way I could think of to embrace the inevitable....lol
  13. I thought I'd try a different approach at bath bombs. Since I absolutely suck at forming them into molds, I tried the "cupcake" idea that some have done. (thank you for the idea) This one is actually a 2 in 1 bath item. The bottom is the typical bath bomb recipe that will fizz when put into the bath. The top is a mixture of bubbling bath butter with some shea butter added. I whipped it and piped it onto the top of the bath bomb. It comes off separately from the bath bomb. I have a few people trying them together in one bath (which I did and it was awesome). I asked a few others to try them separately. (hence the 2 in 1 gift..lol) Someone suggested that I try using the top for a shaving lotion, but haven't gotten that far yet. I found some cupcake boxes at a party store and they fit perfectly in them. Please forgive the terrible pictures as I'm not really good at that yet. Thanks for looking!!
  14. I usually do cp soap but was asked to do a few soaps for a girls birthday party and didn't have time for cp to cure so I thought I'd try my hand at m&p soap. The curly/chunks are scented pink sugar and the white is chocolate scent. I was pleasantly surprised to smell these mixed together. Next are the same pink sugar curly / chunks poured into clear soap (which is also scented pink sugar) I hope they're a hit with the girls. Thanks for looking!
