  1. Ok, this doesn't help me decide how well stearic acid will help KY votive wax!!! I'm still testing and confused!
  2. I have been testing Wick-It's premier wicks and really like them.
  3. Does anyone use stearic in this wax? And if so, how much? I've just started testing with this wax. Got a circle crack in some and I never had that happen before with my other wax.
  4. I have used rd34 in votives. They burned fairly hot for me. But if you just have a votive it isn't going to scent a very big room. It may take that long to smell if it is in a large room. (Am I missing info from another post?) I have a habit of jumping in the middle of something without looking first! )
  5. Millcreek wax is a great wax so I hesitate to say it didn't work too well for me. But since you wanted an opinion and I know what it's like to want an opinion!! I have tried KYpure and KY125 and tho I was prepared to prefer the KYpure in the couple of tests I did, I had more frosting with it than the KY125. hth!
  6. I also have left the wax in the pouring pot and got beautiful smooth surface!! but I have noticed that all the shortcuts just aren't worth it. Trying to pour hot and all the improved waxes to do that, just don't seem to work so far, the original method of pouring cool has been most successful, in my testing. I use Superior Soy also and even tho they say you can pour hotter, my best candles are ones poured cool. So, I just go with that!
  7. I use 60C or 62C for the cups with diameter of 2 3/4.
  8. I just got some also. I really like it. I noticed it needs a smaller wick that what I used before. I am using LX 12. I think you will need a smaller rrd than 34.
  9. Had to smile a bit as I have felt so often like throwing in the towel. I add a bit of bees wax to my EZsoy and I think it helps with the frosting. Also, I don't pour when it is real slushy, I found a window a bit more runny than that, more like syrup. But I guess each one has to find their own. It took me years. (Maybe I'm a slow learner!
  10. I am testing with these and I like them! I've been using 765 and 767 in my jelly jars with good results. The thing is you have to buy 1,000 of them! I was just going to get on line and see if anyone wanted to split an order with me!!
  11. Thanks so much for the suggestion about the stearic acid. It has helped me a lot with sink holes.
  12. hmmmmmm, now I wonder what wax Terrie is using.....might have to test that one, too.....
  13. Ellie, was that 1/2 tsp per one pound of wax? I'm assuming that is what you meant. I want to try that. Edit to say: Sorry, I did it again! Forgot to go to the second page where you answered my question!
  14. Do try it, as they say, it is different for everyone. I like the EL, didn't have any problem with rough tops or frosting and got good hot and cold throw. I do add beeswax and believe it helps the appearance.
  15. Something doesn't sound right here. I never heard of heating the fragrance up before you add it to the wax. But I could be wrong! I hope someone else jumps in here who knows.
  16. I got it at Walmart, not sure what kind it is.
  17. Can you use a meat thermometer to check the temp of your wax? I bought a digital instant one on impulse and now I'm wondering (before I open the package!!!) if you can use it in wax???
  18. tee hee, you poor thing. I have done that, melted everything down after zapping them. I dont know if anyone else would do this but I add a tiny bit more FO to the pouring pot.
  19. Funny thing! I wondered if I had registered in the past and sure enough, going thru my password reminder notes (!!!!!) was info on the scentreview. I got on just fine! Guess I am losing my mind!
  20. I have found the cotton wicks from Peaks don't mushroom much at all.
  21. You could try the new SS wax from Southern Scentsations. That gets poured at 160*. I've been using it. It seems to be good. Seems to have a good cold and hot throw. I would like to hear someone else's opinion of it. I like it, but most of my customers like my old wax so.......????? But then they are not the ones making them. Oh yes, it is soy.....can't remember if it is 100% or blend with other botonical oils.
  22. Beautiful!! Love the colors!
  23. I hear you! I can't stop trying new waxes!! Now, what was the wax you were using before that you liked?
