  1. I agree as well. When I power burn on purpose, I pick a day when I dont have to go out and light it up and leave it on my desk where I can keep an eye on it. I think my longest was from around 8am till close to 8pm.
  2. Even if they had pulled them a month ago, that's still 4 months and to me anyway, that's a long time to all of a sudden decide they don't like the looks of them any longer. And knowing she's not a repeat customer, unless you have a policy that says you will take it all back, I wouldnt do it. That's quite a bit of a loss to take for yourself.
  3. I dont know anything about any of these companies (except WSP, but never bought these from there), but found a few that might help in your search. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/StoreCategory.aspx?CategoryID=1622&CategoryName=Exfoliating+Gloves http://www.dollardays.com/i290213-wholesale-wholesale-exfoliating-gloves.html http://www.bath-gloves-sponge.com/bath-glove.htm
  4. I know some use the 8oz jelly jar with the daisy lid but if you want a baby powder type shaker, here is one place to get them. I'm sure there are a few more, but I had this one bookmarked. http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/ProductSearch.aspx
  5. I'm sorry those really are nice looking too. I hope you can find something you like though
  6. I use cello, but if you are careful putting the bears in, it can be pretty mess free. Sometimes you have to position him in all kinds of weird ways to get him in, but with practice it can be done. Trust me, if I can do it, I think anyone can lol
  7. We have a big Joanns in our town but their candle making supplies is sad. Our Michaels has more to offer, but all I get from there is the pouring pot and some votive molds.
  8. While doing a google search I found a newsletter from BC from 2003 that was talking about the tin plates, maybe you could contact them and see if they could point you in the right direction? It was from this article and since I dont see them on the site now for sale, they might be able to tell you where you could find them. Those suckers are hard to find, I put in about every search term I could think of. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:8iQBmdd49boJ:www.candlesupply.com/news0403.doc+oval+tin+plate+for+potpourri&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us
  9. Congrats on the article! That is really great and what a wonderful way to get your name out there
  10. I switched from chips to liquid dye as well awhile back, and Peaks are the ones I bought. I have nothing to compare them to of course, but I haven't found any reason to look anywhere else for it since I love theirs so much.
  11. I have to agree with both of them. When I first had interest in candle making I researched the internet till my fingers bled (ok well not really but you get the idea). That's actually how I found this board. Then I spent many hours upon hours eating lunch in front of the computer reading the archives. I had a notebook full of notes I had taken, bookmarks out the wazoo and then I finally broke down and bought a kit. After the kit, the rest is still history in the making lol. I tested many waxes, containers, wicks, fo's, colors etc.
  12. Here is where I got mine, I use the amber pet bottles http://www.specialtybottle.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=31
  13. I just finally broke down and got a heat gun over the weekend at Home Depot. My question is...how did I ever live without this thing? lol
  14. It should be that easy. At least it has worked out that way for me. Hope you are able to make lots and lots
  15. I've got mine now to where he will help me somewhat. I started doing this before he left for a year tour in Korea for the military and did a lot of testing during that time since it was just me and my teen daughter for that year. Now he's working a weird schedule where he works a 24 hour shift then off for 3 days, so he'll find me in the work room and come in and I put him to work. He helps me set up, label, clean or whatever it is he sees I need to do, it's great when they are supportive AND involved lol Oh yeah, and he just hates helping me spend the money I make
  16. I spray it on after they come out of the printer. I wait a bit for the ink to dry and them take it outside and spray the whole sheet. I give it a few hours to dry after spraying, but it says it dries in 12 minutes or less. And she's right too, make sure you buy inkjet labels for inkjet printer or laser labels for laser printer. I almost bought the wrong thing once, but luckily noticed it as I was doing the checkout on the website.
  17. My husband is like that too, we walk through stores together and he will take something glass off the shelf and ask if that will work lol
  18. For my clear labels I use Krylon clear spray on it before using them and so far it's been working great. Now I dont know if that would make them waterproof or not, but if you spray it on and let it dry good nothing rubs off. you can get it in the spray paint section at walmart or hardware stores.
  19. I use it for wickless tins and melts both. For my melts though, I use them in either the portion cups or clamshells, and they work great for that.
  20. Beautiful! Almost too good to be for candles if that makes sense lol I wouldn't be surprised if someone down the road wants a site like that who makes candy. Very nice work!
  21. Funny thing, everytime I go into either the dollar store or almost any store for that matter, I ask myself "can I pour wax into that?" lol
  22. I just checked this site, and you're right, it does look a lot like one of the jars they have on their site.
  23. I have used ice trays before for melts, worked just fine. And, buying from the dollar store is a cheap way to get them lol. I dont think I sprayed anything in them though, just set them in the freezer for a min or so and twisted just like you would ice and they come right out.
