  1. There is a post on the second page about 1/2 way down talking about these votive clamshells. The subject line is "has anyone tried these"
  2. I'm sorry I can't recommend a different supplier but just wanted to let you know I have had the same problem with Aqua. I used it once and it totally clogged the wick. If I use it now I use it in very small amounts for a light aqua. I just make candles as a hobby so I don't "have" to have aqua.
  3. Thanks so much girls! This board is always so quick with the responses and answers. Have a great holiday! Diane
  4. I haven't been on the board in MONTHS! It's fun to be back! Making votives is my hobby. I make them for me, friends and family. My neighbor came over yesterday with a Colonial Candle scented gold frankincense and myrth and wanted to know if I could duplicate it. It really is a nice scent. I've changed computers and lost my "favorites" folders. Can anyone give me the web page info for Fragrance Finders? Or better yet, let me know if you have heard of a dupe for this scent. Thanks much. Diane
  5. Very nice and scarey! So shinny too! I too haven't made any candles for a while, I hope I have such success when I get back into it (soon I hope!)
  6. That's exactly where my presto pot and candle making stuff is, the garage. We don't get a huge temp variance here and if it too hot I can open the garage door. Give it a try and see.
  7. All your hard work paid off, they look great. I really like the second one. Good work!
  8. Sorry, I don't have any snappy ideas for you. Maybe just pick one scent and do 3 colors. For some reason, I thought of chocolate when I was thinking about friendship. Maybe becuase all my friends and I are chocoholics! PS...what does that statement mean at the end of your posts? I don't see a picture of a candle. Good luck
  9. What a great idea! I hate those smear marks too. Nice solution.
  10. I'd have to agree with Steph. I just light them and forget about them until they burn out. The unscented ones I've bought usually last only 5.5 hours. I think I got them at IKEA
  11. I like it alot, love the feeling of the fireplace and rocking chair. I agree that the bottom text should be moved to the left away from the border. The Cozy Aroma is a little big and "fat" too and I don't like the way the C touches the mantel of the fireplace. Maybe a smaller, skinnier font. But I really love your overall idea.
  12. I just thought of one for Brown Sugar and Fig, how about just Sweet Fig
  13. WARNING!!! I'm not really good at this but here we go. 1. Lemon Butter (my grandmothers recipe, sounds better then curd) 3. Raspberry Cordial 4. My Man (ok, am I just tired? that's bad)
  14. My very first thought after reading your post was White Tea and Ginger, it's my new favorite, very clean and fresh.
  15. Those are so sweet. I love the touch of blue on the top. Just curious, what scents did she request?
  16. It's beautiful. I love your color and that scent is one of my favorites.
  17. I use IGI 4794 and am very pleased wth scent throw. It also is a preblend but only needs one repour/top off.
  18. I'm sorry I can't help you but I believe you would have better luck in your search if you called it a tumbler, not a votive. If it is a 7.75oz container it would be a tumbler. Correct me if I'm wrong. I did find some plastic lids for some 8oz ones I had, I'll check to see if I can find where I ordered those. Good luck. I've made a quick search in my files and can't find the supplier, I'll keep looking. Diane
  19. I'd have to say it is on the sweet side but not sickly syrupy sweet.
  20. I'd have to agree with Holly. Peaks Wild Raspberry is very nice, although I haven't tried others, I haven't felt the need to.
  21. I haven't poured tea lights yet but have been thinking about it. All I make so far is votives. When and if I try tea lights I was thinking I would start with a 36z or Lx10
  22. I never have poked relief holes in my votives. Because of your cold basement I think you might just have to do your repour a little sooner rather then later to prevent it shrinking and pulling away from the sides. I have that problem in my garage when I let them cool too long before the repour.
  23. First thing I thought of was Ambrosia.
