  1. Sorry Angie, I don't really have any advice. All I make is votives (do not sell) and those are the 2 wicks I use. Maybe give it another go with the 44z and make sure to keep the wick trimmed. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
  2. I have to agree with Scented. I have no problems using the 36z'a in my votives. I too mostly use 1oz FO pp of wax. I definatly think you need to trim your wicks, maybe you were trimming them just a little too short and that was causing your 2nd burn small flame. I find I need to use a 44z with some scents and also if I go really dark with a color. HTH:)
  3. Holy Moly! That's alot of pies!! I love the whipped cream.
  4. Thanks so much everyone, I feel much better and SO much more informed! I learn so much from this board.
  5. The wax looks fine, it wasn't scented or colored yet. I just remelted it and it looks normal. Thanks for your help. I'll do a few test votives. You're right! I'm SO lucky I didn't have a fre, have learned my lesson for sure! Whew!
  6. I made TWO huge mistakes yesterday. I turned my presto up too high AND then left it on when I left the house!! The battery in my car died and I didn't get home until 5 hours later. (yet another story) The wax temp was up to 220 degrees. It's 4794 votive wax. Is it ruined? Can I just make some tarts with it? UGH! HELP!
  7. I just made a second batch of votives with Peaks Orange and Red Clove mixed 2 parts clove to one part orange. I think you could go 50/50 also. I had to make a second batch because everyone I gave them to (I dont' sell) loved it so much they wanted MORE! Give that a try, it's a great fall and winter scent.
  8. Oh! I have some mini muffin tins too that I never use for muffins, I'll try those for tarts, good idea. Also may pick up some heavy ice cube trays and try that. Thank you both for the suggestions.
  9. I want to make tarts for family and friends and of course me. Right now I only have 4794 to work with. Can I use ice cube trays? I sort of remember something about the plastic retaining the color and or FO, so maybe not a good idea. Anyone try this? Thanks.
  10. Oh red is a good idea, I don't have a red one either. Thanks.
  11. I just make votives with 4794 and the scent throw is great! Sometimes I'll chop a votive in half and throw it in my tart burner and it too throws great. I'm thinking of doing some tarts with it soon.
  12. I love the Spruce Christmas Tree and I'm going to pour the Cinnamon Balsam today, have never tried it. For those of you that have used this one, what color do you make it?? Cinnamon color or green color? I just dont' know. Thanks.
  13. You have made my night, I can go to bed feeling like I've done a good deed! :-) I think Caro Choice works very well. Lets see if anyone else chimes in. Glad I could help.
  14. I'm no good at this but here goes.... Caroline Choice Selection Carolines Select Choice Carolines Top Drawer Caroline Preferred Choice Carol-ishous Select See! I told you I was not very good at this. Lets hope someone else chimes in. Good luck.
  15. Thank you for your replies. I am still liking this scent cold. Everytime I walk into my garage (aka..candle making shop!) I am loving it more. Will test burn it tonight.
  16. No one has tried this? No opinions? I poured it last night and it smells pretty good. I used a butterscotch color but I may remelt and add a little brown. Can't wait to burn it.
  17. Once you get that Spiced Cranberry into wax you will love it even more! Have fun!
  18. Just found the sample I got a few weeks ago hidden away among my FO! I have yet to put it in wax, smells great OOB. Anyone used it yet? What do you think? What did you customers think? I think I'll pour it tonight, just some votives with 4794. Now to think of a color.....
  19. Darn it! What happened to that list of suppliers abbriviations? Who is WSP? Thanks
  20. I think Peaks Spruce Christmas Tree is a must for X-mas and also love Spiced Cranberry. I tried Peppermint Kiss and the jury is still out on that one around here. My son thought it smelled like cookies?? I'm pouring Cinnamon Balsam this weekend so I can't report on that yet except to say that OOB it smells wonderful. Cinnamon would also be a good scent to have, use it alone or mix with alot of other scents. Have fun.
  21. I'm making votives for family and friends for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Trying Cinnamon Balsam, Harvest and a new Bayberry. Also pouring more Orange Clove which my tester friends really loved. Poured Spiced Cranberry a few weeks ago and I just love that one. It's 80 degrees here but my house smells like the holidays!
  22. You could EAT Fudge Brownie it is SO good!! I had it on my kitchen counter, not lit, everytime I walked by I swore I was smelling a hunk of chocolate. Of course I LOVE anything chocolate.
  23. I haven't seen spiced pear either, but I LOVE Emerald Pear from Peaks. I tried to make my own spiced pear, which I'm calling Poached Pear, by using 3 parts Emerald Pear to one part cinnamon. It's nice but I think next time I'll do 50/50. I'm awaiting my order from Peaks too, I'd like to try the berry hotcakes for sure.
