  1. I love the OOB scent! I did some research and the throw is unknown in Soy. Has anyone tried it in EZsoy, or should I wait for my FH 50/50 blend shipment! TIA!!
  2. Don't forget it can be used as a hand dip as it is softening. And not I would never promote it if I sold candles, but it sure does a wonder on my hands and cuticles!!
  3. I almost bought a kit, but I bought some MP base from BCN. 4 lbs and I bought the dye and cheap molds at Michaels. I used the Fo's safe for B&B in the soap. I also added some OO to it too and some EO I had from the old hairstylist days! I think I spent 16.00 for the supplies! HTH!
  4. I have probably spent $600.00 in 2 months! Having a second job has helped ALOT!!! The FO's are addicting! Had to buy a scale, and certain initial things that I can use for a while. I got the stick blender finally, to try HP soap... Shipping fees add up too. But, I love it as a hobby!!!
  5. I have learned a few things by reading up here. I have yet to make my first perfect test candle, but I am getting real close! Here is what I have learned here so far: Learn how to use a digital scale to measure wax and FO. Be prepared to spend quite a bit testing candles. Realize that FO's are measured by weight and not volume. Stick with 1 wax and 1 FO (if possible) until you master it, then move on. Search this forum and you will learn ALOT HTH!
  6. Welcome!!! I am right there with you! Learning reading searching the board and testing! Lots of fun!!!
  7. What, if any method is most popular or most favored??? TIA!!!
  8. Welcome back!!!! I have everything now to make soap too! Stick blender, scale, lye, oh, except some soft oils... Just waiting for the new year, I am too busy for now with my hands in the wax!!!
  9. That is amazing!!! I bet it smells awesome!!
  10. I bought a shot glass at Bed Bath and Beyond. It was around 3 dollars and it is marked in oz and other various measurements. I put it on the scale on oz, then hit the tare button and pour using the scales weight and not the shot glass. The scale is key, so even a plastic measuring cup works too! I am still testing too, and not having any luck yet on the wicks! Well, I am waiting on 5 new testers to cure.
  11. Maybe related? I used Butt Naked Fo from BCn to make aroma ornies, and in the aroma beads smelled great, but baked in the ornie it smelled plasticy...HTH!
  12. Thanks!!! I ordered the snowey pine among a few other fo's!!! I am so excited!!!!
  13. I placed an order for the 50/50 from FH last Monday and I followed the prompts while ordering and sent money via Paypal. So, I sent her the money for the order, but not for shipping. Will the shipping fees be sent in an email request via paypal?? I did not get any request all week, so maybe the Holiday delayed things. I also was wondering if I will get any tracking info... I am so excited and I ordered some FO's too!
  14. I add my fo at 175-180 degrees. I pour at 98 degrees and add 1 T BW pp. HTH!
  15. I have found not dying the ez soy wax minimizes frosting as well as adding trace 100% BW pellets . I read somewhere that if you do use dye, go with tin containers so the frosting only is an issue on the top. HTH!
  16. I am not sure, but I think alot of it depends on the science side of it (adding fo at the right temp, right pour temp, and the strength of the FO) I am a soy user so I have nothing to compare it to, but I know pour temp and the temp for adding FO is crutical to the scent throw; and curing as well... HTH!:highfive:
  17. I also add BW and have less issues with soy. However I am learning to not add any color. Less issues with added dye too.:highfive:
  18. Thank you for the tutorial, this could really help me one day if I decide to make votives. Perhaps it should be archived?
  19. I love them all, and I hope to be able to graduate from MP so I can make such awesome soaps!!!
  20. I like it and can I have it? It looks very prim and rustic, but then again I am a noob! It looks 200% better than my first and only (so far) attempt!!!
  21. Yesterday, I made some candles and tarts with EZ soy and no dye and I used CandleScience Cream Brulee straight- WOW! Such an awesome cold and hot throw!!! When I walk by my tart rack I get a huge wiff of the cold throw, and the hot throw is awesome in the tarts right now too!! I am curing my test candles and will test the new wicks tomorrow, but I won't bore you with that here...
  22. I would wait for the others to reply. the C&S wax may be the same as the farmhouse 50/50 blend. I try to do my homework, but I am still a noob. I did just place an order for the 50/50 farmhouse and 5 new 1 oz scents: Cookies and Cream Fresh Cut Roses Blueberry Cheesecake Snowy Pine French Vanilla So glad I have that part time job to be able to spend so freely! The FO's are so addicting!
  23. I am a noob and use EZ Soy, but I am interested in buying this wax and this link may help: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37863
