  1. I have a customer who said she purchased a 16 wide mouth mason jar candle that was double wicked and she wants me to make her one double wicked. I have only made those with one zinc wick. If you were to double wick a 16 oz wide mouth mason with zinc wicks, where would you start? I know I am going to have to use 2 smaller zinc wicks.
  2. My sells are MUCH better locally. I think alot of it is because their is more competition online with all the different online candle/soap business. We only really have a Walmart here that sells candles.
  3. Just wondering if others have better sales online or local (for those who sell local). (?)
  4. You know,..I started making candles in 2004 and I have NEVER smelt Lily of the Valley. Crazy huh!!! I might order me a sample next time.
  5. I DO NOT care for florals either,..but I do need to add more to my line.
  6. What are some of you best selling florals scents?
  7. Daystars is THE BEST and I have almost literally tried every Apricot I could find. It is strong and such a true Apricot scent. ♥ ETS: Awww,..I just looked and she doesnt have it anymore!!!
  8. Awww,...Thanks ladies. You both could move closer to me here in Ohio. Just think we could get together and open-up a awesome store here,...here we have nothing, we only have a Bath & Body Works and thats few and far between,..only competition their is here in my area. Most people buy Scentsational's Clamshell Melts from WalMart around here, until they find me. LOL ETS: Although I do know of one other candlemaker in my area and she is also a member on this board (she's a sweetie).
  9. LOL,..I think so too! I am close to The CandleSource and The Candlemaker Store,..so I can pick-up fragrances from both places and pick-up my wax from The Candlemaker Store. I've come to personally know the workers at both places and it is very nice to see faces and talk to your suppliers.
  10. Really! I bet you will get a great HT with just the parrafin. I'm kinda thinking their FO's "struggle" in Palm wax. I've used their FO's in 415, 444, 416, 464 and a parasoy blend and they have all done well,..just not good at all in this Palm wax,..I like the characteristics otherwise of the Palm and thats why I wanted to give it a try. The Candle Source is so close to me (locally) that I would certainly to switch wax before not using their fragrances.
  11. Has any of you noticed any recent issues with hot throw using The Candle Source fragrances? I have always loved their fragrances and have purchased from them for many years (you can even read that in past posts),..so I am not "bashing" any company here, I am just curious because I have had complaints from some of my "testers' that they are not getting any HT on some of the tarts that were made with The Candle Source FO's? Incase anyone wants to know, I noticed it since I recently started using Palm Pillar wax, I used to use a parasoy blend wax,...do you think it could be that their fragrances dont throw well in Palm Wax???:undecided Hugs, Leisa
  12. I have used all of them that you have chosen and they are all good ones,..you wont be disappointed.
  13. Thats a great idea! Yes, I thought that was very cheap as well. They do have alot of vendors in there but none of them sell candles.
  14. LOL,..I think so too. I'm trying to think what to do with all the products when I am not there. I guess pack them up everyday,..I cant do all day long, seven days a week.
  15. I know their are other threads about Flea Market selling, but I have been "begged" by some local customers to sell at a locoal Flea Market that is year around and open every day of the week. My local customers keep telling me they wish I would because then they could get their products right then and there and see everything except on website. So I checked into it and the cost is $90 a month for booth space and I thought that was a really good price considering I have no utility expenses.I just dont want to deal with people looking for dirt cheap products and have a attitude because my products aren't dirt cheap. I would be basically doing this for the local customers I already have and to also maybe gain more customers that are not aware of us. What are your thoughts & opinions?
  16. I agree with ChrisR. I just label it as Handmade Soap with weight and the ingredients. Most people know what it does (moisturize, etc..) by the ingredients, as stated above.
  17. I need a name idea for a blend of Peppermint Bark & Vanilla.
  18. Are your candles undyed also? I've thought about not dying mine, since I use soy.
  19. I bet they are pretty undyed and decorated. You should share a pic, I would love to see some of them.
  20. Hmmm,..I would like to know also.
  21. VERY PRETTY!! And I love that scent.
  22. Are you in northern Ohio or southern Ohio?
  23. Oh thats a good way to identify the scents, never thought of that. Good idea!!
