  1. These are for tonight. I already had the 2 purple ones made, I made the middle one after I seen what she wanted for her restroom. It didn't quite come out as nice, but I am pleased. (That is a butterfly in the candle). I think everything goes together quite nicley.
  2. My absolute favorite is White Ginger & amber.... best selling... i guess it is the Love Spell... really nothing is consistant for me. I guess since I live in Houston, and it's such a big city with so many diverse people... Oh, there is always someone looking for something citrus.
  3. I Agree with the avocado.... and I add hempseed to mine. I add avocado, hempseed, emu, kukui nut oil in mine, i cant find my exact recipe (lack of organization:laugh2:) and I swear to you that she hasn't had a flare up (my daghter) in like 9 months since I started treat her with it. At the fiirst sign of a rash, I put some on her and its gone the next day. I think i add another oil in there, but I am jus toooo lazy at the moment to look for it. I really don't know about the other oils you have listed there, so I can't help you narrow those, just wanted to add my insight.
  4. congrats! I know I don't have the guts to do that yet! I think I would have needed that wine before I went in to the shop!
  5. my answer is just as useless as not asnwering since I do not have a definite answer. I have read were people add preservatives, also that you don't need any when you use so much alcohol... but I don't know how much that would be... so sorry.
  6. why don't you do butters:cheesy2: instead of the lotion. My daughter who has severe excema is the reason I got into the b&b stuff. Pure butters with the right oils is all you really need. She was also given a steroid cream and I only used that a few times. I have been able to keep it under control for about 8 months, no excema flare ups! Her skin was damaged with all the scarring, but it has been improving as well with the use of the butters. No way would I ever sell a lotion without a preservative. And you don't really need it with the butters (though I do use it in my butters, and there has been no interference with the progress)
  7. wow, that was alot of FO.... and cornstarch... Like suggested try adding more butters... or just leave it as is and use it up yourself and try a new recipe. If it was me, I wouldn't waste more ingridients trying to correct it cause it's not something that I would want to reproduce, bc even if you got it to the right consistency, next time you made it you wouldn't be using 1oz of FO. KWIM? that's how we learn though, by trial and error;)
  8. i use them and have never had any problems with them.
  9. How exciting is that!!! :highfive:
  10. you can either use vodka or witch hazel, it is used to help it dry faster, to not end up with wet linens. Also, I've read that it is ok to use vodka and not get in trouble cauue you wouldn't be consuming it.
  11. I think it should just be dropped!.. The back and forth with the woman is also very unprofessional and doesn't make you any better with her. All it took was one look at her website and that should have been enough for people to make up their own mind... and yes you are right ducky, people like to request free samples for everything... and if we want we can or we can choose not to. That is just my opinion, just like you are entitled to yours and she is to hers...
  12. LOVE IT! HOpe you do well! I'll be busy surviving the storm this weekend... and that angers me!!! .........anyways, I think it looks fantastic!
  13. But ME! I did my 1st actual "craft show" on Sat. I have done markets (like farmer's market type of shows) and have done just ok- I was just geting the hang of it, but I have stopped since the weather is terribly hot! It was a church fundraiser and the place was PACKED! of VENDORS, not too many customers. And a TON of candle vendors. I was so dissapointed. On my application I stated that I did not want to be near other candle vendors, well get this, there was abot 3 candle (or other wax related stuff) people per area! They had vendors in the fellowship hall, in classrooms, in hallways, anywhere that there was space. So imagine what the total of candle vendors! Well the place was overbooked in candle stuff, had I known, I would have NEVER signed up. I got my money back, and that was about it! I was so dissapointed, that I don't think I want to do more craft shows, if they will all be anything like this. I signed up for 2 more, and I think that will be it for me. I'll stick to my markets & my momma! my #1 and only salesperson. well like its been said before, it's either a hit or miss! ANd this was a total miss.
  14. I recently purchased sofa throws, and they work great. I got the chair cover size for the small table (3 feet, I think) and the loveseat size for the 5 foot table. There is also a sofa and jumbo sofa size that would probably work great for the larger tables. I got them at Ann's Linens, I think .
  15. I second WSP!!!! Love the STUFF! Thick, creamy, silky.....LOVE IT! Though I will admit that I never use it cause I am more in love with my butters (shea and cocoa)! And for my daughter who has eczema, I also use the butters.
  16. sorry! I totally forgot!!! mainly cause I have never attempted making a lotion with borax. You can't go wrong with ewax!
  17. I can't see how you can even make lotion withount ewax....??? Working with ewax is not hard at all, I promise.
  18. i agree with wicking up just one size and that 45 would be too much, probably get a very large flame. Maybe as you keep burning it, it won't be too bad.
  19. there was a good thread on this on the soapdish, but I can't find it! THere were some good replies, such as (somewhere along these lines, I don't have them worded exactly) "I currently have my lotions manufactured" "To assure proper presevation... " and stuff like that. I don't quite remember it all, but try wording those two phrases together somehow, and try to elaborate...
  20. try the recipe here: http://www.todieforsoap.com/sprays.htm and like mentioned before, there is ton of stuff on the archives!
  21. much better than what you had before! doing great!
  22. I only use it for body spray, for room spray I just do the water/alcohol thing, cause it's cheaper. It makes sense to have to different products with different ratios. But I have seen people maket it as for the body/hair/ room. For the hair, I make my own shine mist combined with other silicones, only for myself and family cause most of the time I just throw it together and eyeball measurements and haven't written it down yet.
  23. I would say that pretty much all but a few that don't work. The only one that I have across that doesn't work is vanilla, and I've mixed alot of FO with cyclo. I think there is a thread on the BC forum that has fo's that work and not.
