  1. I personally like to trim the wicks just to make sure they start off on the right foot.
  2. Thanks I thought maybe M&P might be easier to start with? CP kinda scares me with the lye so I thought I would sneak up on it :tiptoe: LOL kinda get the feel for soap in general then maybe work my way up to CP.
  3. That after hours of reading and seeing all the beautiful soap that this is going to yet ANOTHER addiction for me LOL Im going to start off with baby steps and try M&P and then see where I can go from there. :embarasse You guys do amazing things with soap :highfive:
  4. I use a hot glue gun and eyeball them straight, although I think Im going to take someones Idea here and make a template with a bullseye in the middle, we tried wick stickems but they never stay for me, hot glue works everytime! I use metal wick clips to keep them nice and straight while theya re cooling..love them!
  5. I use the 50\50 from C&S and so far havent had a problem, maybe it was just a couple of batches? Shipping from anywhere else is alot and C&S is 5 minutes away from me, so looks like I'll be staying there unless something major happens with the wax. FO's are a different story, those Im buying elsewhere:cool2:
  6. Aww sorry that happened to you! I would definitley NOT be buying from them again if I were you, their customer service sounds like it leaves alot to be desired! :undecided
  7. Definitely need a scale other than your bathroom one! Most candle supply places sell a digital one for measuring wax so check your supply place. Although Im sure someone here can reccomend a store and brand where you can get one. Accuracy is key when measuring FO and wax etc.. Good Luck!
  8. Ooo I would love a Japanese Cherry Blossom that matches BBW, I wear this and love it! Would kick butt in a candle..
  9. Dove Song? yeah my creative spark is out to lunch today so thats all I got LOL :embarasse
  10. Leather sells good for me as well, I have alot of women who like it as well. I use C&S leather and it throws well in their 1275
  11. Ok one more since Im trying to decide where to go to get FO's other than where Ive been going.. has anyone tried Candlewics ultimate Fo's? TIA! Kristy
  12. Thanks Marty I use a 50\50 blend so would probably throw well in mine..gotta get some samples to test with! hey have a nice sample pack..
  13. Very cool thanks! Thats just wanted I wanted to know I was using C&S but theirs are hit and miss and I wanted to look to other places...
  14. Cindy, what do you think about them? Have you used them?
  15. Has anyone tried them and what do you think about them? Im thinking about ordering some jars from them and wondered how good their FO's are? Thanks Kristy
  16. Deb i totally understand I would feel that way too! Their customer service can leave alot to be desired and Ive had a few instances where Ive not been totally happy with them. They are a 5 minute drive for me so thats been the main draw. I would love to try from other places but the shipping on wax is usually ALOT more than what Id pay here. If I have trouble with my wax from C&S in the future I'll know that it's time to bite the bullet and find somewhere new to buy from. As for the FO's I do notice a ton of smoking with them and they are hard to wick, it's hit or miss there for me. So Ive decided to move on to some of the ones that are listed here on CT. If the wax at farmhouse is the same then id be willing to give it a whirl!
  17. Is farm house the same blend as the 1275? I use the 1275 from C&S and so far have not had a problem with it, I love it but not the FO's from C&S and will be buying them from other companies soon...I miss the J225 but dont miss the weird things it did for me lol
  18. Been so busy i havent been around much but Im back Plans for next year? Really get a website going, changing my wax back to what I like best, more testing, making a list of what scents I want to carry making the finaly decision on containers, labels etc. Next year will be a busy one!
  19. Does anyone have an idea where to get a good one and if not any ideas on how to blend FO's to get something close to it? I may have a large candle order for a ballet company thats doing the Nutcracker in December and I told them I would look into an FO that would fit, I figured either that or maybe a Sugar plum? Thanks for the help, Kristy
  20. I just pop the oven on warm or 200, put the jars in and melt it that way, then pour into whatever container you want to harden, Ice cube trays etc.. pop it out whenever you want to reuse if your doing a batch the same FO and color HTH Kristy
  21. Love the clear pumpkin and acorn jars! very cute! (edited due to being queen of the typos) LOL
  22. I usually wick 2 containers Im planning on using.. pour and the cure at least 24 hours then test burn for 4.. if Im not getting results I want I switch wicks by pulling out the wick that I origionally put in with a pair of plyers it saves me having to poke a hole through the wax and being crooked LOL then I get a perfect hole and the wick goes right in.. then after that its easy to change out wicks as I see what works for me.. hope this makes sense LOL
  23. WOW those are great! Wish I could do that LOL but not talented enough:D
