  1. Sounds like it would be too much of a pain to try , I'll just be happy with what worsk for me, although Id like to try some soy or palm wax if its not to hard to wick. Im happy with the throw Im getting now from j225 but would liek a wax thats a little less exspensive.
  2. Yankee get that frosty kinda looking candle they make? Wandered into wicks and sticks today to check out candles..yankee has this mottled sort of frosty look to their wax.. I love it but have no clue how to get my wax to look like that or what kind they use! And I dont feel so bad about wet spots anymore because theirs were LOADED with them..
  3. I use a hot glue gun, I gave up on wick stickems.. they were not my friend LOL no matter what i tried I couldnt get them to stay.. the hot glue works like a charm!
  4. Yep, definitley too muh FO Im suprised the wax held that much! I would go broke buying FO if I had to use that much LOL Candlesandsupplies.com has some great ones, I use them the most because I dont have to pay shipping because they are 5 minutes from my house.. which can be good and bad LOL I tend to spend alot there..
  5. Thanks they are so cute! I think Im just going to use container wax... better to be safe than sorry lol
  6. Luck! Feel the force of the candle! LOL See what you started with the "be one with the wax"? LOLOL
  7. I have a small ceramic loaf container thats about 2 inches deep and 5 inches long , 3 and a half inches wide that I found a Michaels with halloween characters on it that are adorable, my question is since they are so shallow can I use my votive wax in it with 2 wicks? Or should I just use regular j223 wax? I cant believe they were only a dollar and are microwave, dishwasher and over safe!! YAY!
  8. Im sorry if this sounds dumb..lol but how do you figure out wholesale prices? And do you make any money wholesale? Thanks for answering a newbies questions! Kristy

  10. How many make your own and use a label maker and how many people have it done professionaly? I have gotten a price on the label my hubby designed for me but since it was a 3 color job it would be close to 200 for 500 labels..I think it would be worth the investment eventually but for now I bought some clear laser print labels from labels by the sheet and am going to have hubby come up with something for them until I can afford the other.. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance..
  11. Thanks for replying.. I am not using soy now but might end up trying it. I was wondering how good their container blend was thats not soy.. I heard good things about their FO and was thinking about ordering as well.. its just hard because candles and supplies is 5 minutes from my house and dont pay any shipping lol But I want to shop around and see what else is there..
  12. Im guessing no one has used their wax? lol
  13. Hmmm I will check into those jelly jars..
  14. Has anyone tried the candle sources conatiner wax?? I was browsing scents and saw how inexspensive there wax was.. Ive been using J225 but am looking for a less exspensive preblended wax that works just as well.
  15. Thanks for the link I will check it out, I live in a city area so Im thinking the apothecary would go better, but I may try a mix of both and see if they sell.. Thanks again Kristy
  16. which sells better , the mason jar candles, ones with screw top lids or candle jars like status, or apothecary.. I know its cheaper to use Mason jars and the ones with the screw top lids.. I just wish they made the screw tops silver..
  17. Thanks I have my friends spreading the word as well.. I will keep giving out free votives and keep my toes crossed!:tiptoe:
  18. I was curious as to how you guys who are selling your candles got started, did you do word of mouth first to your friends and then move on to a website? Do you just do craft shows , I would love the input and ideas.. Thanks a bunch in advance! Kristy
  19. Thanks for all the input, I will try melting the color blocks.. I like the Dye blocks much better but Im going to try the liquid as well..and will probably end up using the dye blocks along with the liquid.. gonna stay AWAY from the color blocks from now on.. :tiptoe:
  20. Ok, I tried a new one called color block, I was using dye blocks. The woman at CS told me that they were pretty much the same..Im using J225 wax and havent had any problem at all with the dye blocks in this wax. The color blocks seemed to melt fine in the wax and the Fo mixed fine..but this morning when i checked my curing candles they had little bits of color block that settled on the bottom of them! My question is will this affect the burning at all and has anyone had this problem before? Im definitely changing to liquid dyes or back to my dye blocks. Thanks for your help, Kristy
  21. Labels or hang tags? Im finally getting down to working on my label, I noticed someone posted a site that had labels you can laser print at home, I was wondering how many people use them and if they come out nice? Also if you dont use labels, what type of hang tag do you use? Thanks for the help Kristy
