  1. I recently bought some clear labels from labels by the sheet, I then decided to see about using them to label my candles myself but my question is for those I have seen the clear labels on your candles, do you do them yourself and if so what do you use ink jet or laser printer? I also saw a post on krylon spray to make them water proof but Im thinking it would leave a film on the labels? Thanks a bunch for your help! Kristy
  2. I agree! I bought my slab of wax when I first started at candles and supplies, they are 5 minutes away from my house which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how much money i spend LOL
  3. Ive heard that peaks has a nice one I never tried the kits just kinda jumped in with both feet and bought a 10 lb slab when I started:shocked2:
  4. Hmmm might have to try this and see how it works with my wax.. an ounce or 2 pp?
  5. Thanks for the input, adding some votive wax seems like a good idea.. the 1275 is a parasoy blend but I can see that something like J225 would be too soft to come out of the molds.. will give the 1275 a try with some votive wax.. Thanks!
  6. Can I make tarts with leftover wax? Im using wax 1275 from C&S sometimes I have some left over thats already scented and colored and I hate to waste it! Ive been just saving it in baggies after it hardens but it seems like it would be better to just pour it into tart molds? What other types of wax can you use for tarts? Votive wax? Thanks for the help, Kristy
  7. Yep I use high temp hot glue and they dont go anywhere LOL
  8. Ooo I like the drawing it on something idea.. would make it much easier.. I could do one for each jar.. most of the time I can eye it visually.. but someday I feel like I couldnt hit the center of anything without a bullseye lol
  9. Sounds like I will be making a trip for some wick pins, wicking is the part I hate the most for votives! I wasnt sure when I looked at them at C&S what to do with them lol but now I know.. for some reason I was thinking you had to poke them through the votives after they were done thanks for shedding a light on this for me..lol wick pin THEN pour
  10. I dont use one but Ive been looking at them myself, candlescience has one, and I think lonestar someone posted the question a few days ago and I put the links up of places I knew to get one. Right now I use hot glue as well because wick stickems were not my friend lol I also use the straw method to get them in the jar good, for the most part Ive been pretty on but would like something that makes centering it easier.. :rolleyes2
  11. I manually set my votive wicks but Im getting curious about wick pins and would love to know how it works with votives:D
  12. The colors are awesome, bet they smell great too! Too bad the pictures cant be scratch and sniff LOL
  13. There are also several sites online that tell you how to do it, try using google and it will bring up some
  14. Looks like its testing wicks for me, damn keepsake jars are giving me a run for my money..trying a new wax.
  15. hmmm they were out of the light and in boxes the jars came in.. Im at a loss.. only thing I can think of is the dye blocks.. back to testing and more testing
  16. container candles, using J225 wax. others didnt do it at all.. I know I mixed and poured at the right temp and heated my jars..
  17. How do most of you store the ones youve made? Temp etc? I stored some in a box in my dinning room and ended up with weird white spots on some.. not the wet spots we all get but some weird circular spots. I was thinking the dye could have caused this? In order to get darker colors I have to use alot of dye..if I use liquid i get weird swirls sometimes no matter how much I stir.. and if I use dye blocks I get the little specks on the bottom of the jar... Why oh why is the dye torturing me so much??!!!! LOLOL:D
  18. LOL oooooo I love the raspberry tea it smells awesome! Im going today to C&S for wax and some FO's and I will check out the spice cookie one...Ive had requests for sugar cookie and moutain lodge..
