  1. Well, it is still very pretty. I love those swirls.
  2. I love the blue colored one. They are all pretty.
  3. I have been using castor in all of my soaps, and some of them ,even after a very long cure time, are sticky to the touch. They don't all do that, I am just wondering if it is a certain oil will do that. I am thinking it might be the castor, but no one has ever mentioned that as a problem. I use 10%, and thinking maybe only 5%. Anyone know anything about this?
  4. No, it won't melt. I had a little in the bottom and the sides of the big jar it comes in and I was wanting to get it all out into some smaller jars. I filled my sink with super hot water and tried to melt it down enough to get it all out. It didn't melt or liquify even a little bit. I love this stuff.
  5. What a great idea, helps you out, and I bet the kids had a lot of fun.
  6. Thanks for the tips,Karen.I don't like the real big bars either, or the chunks. I figure if it is only filled half full, it should make the perfect size for me. I plan to coat it with mineral oil and let it sit like that a few days before I use it. I will let you all know how it works.
  7. Thanks Eugenia,I don't sell B&B yet, and might not ever. However, I do make a lot of soaps, and think I might like the smaller bars. They really aren't a whole lot different in size. I was curious about how easy the bars come out of the mold. Guess I will find out, my first bars with this is gonna be salt bars.
  8. I did a search and can't find anything on these molds. I just ordered the 18 bar white birch slab mold. Has anyone got one of these. I thought the price was good, and this will be my first slab mold. Any feedback would be appreciated.
  9. Just Scents has a really good Chanel, too. Sorry, can't help with the others.
  10. Thanks Trapp, I think this would be a good thread, I always like to hear others opinions on what they think is the best. I have found a lot of good scents like that.
  11. This is what I get from reading this. Glad it is only 20 cents. The price for our Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope continues to be the same as the (unzoned) 1-pound rate, $4.60.
  12. I talked to my PO the other day and she said that they don't even know if the flat rate is going up yet, or how much. She said the only thing that she knows of that has changed with flat rate, is that they introduced the larger box. Maybe that has changed by now, but as of last week she said there was no announcement in flat rate prices.
  13. I got a gallon of it about a month ago, and I love it, I use it straight, and I put a lot of scents in it. If I am just making a jar for myself, I may add a tsp or less of fragrance. I sent a jar to everyone in the soused swap and I just smelled an extra one I had and it is way stronger than when I mixed it. Kinda reminds me of crisco to look at, but goes in so good.
  14. I use 85% coconut,15% avacado, and 5% castor. Lathers like crazy and definitely not drying.
  15. Thanks ladies, I don't know why always did a 10% and that is what worked for me, so I never changed it. I did try alittle piece today, and it did seem fine.
  16. I just made a couple batches of salt bars using my tried and true recipe, and totally forgot you were suppose to superfat at a higher number. For some reason, I just used the 5% percent because that was what was on the calculator. Is there gonna be a big difference in the bars?
  17. I soaped their strawberry, which I really like in candles, but it morphed bad in cp soap.
  18. Those look great, I did salt bars today, and after almost three hours in the oven at 150, and with a lid on, I still don't think I got a gel. If I did it was quick, but I kept on peaking(I know), but never saw one. I cut them and don't notice a partial gel either , so that is good. Those are very pretty.
  19. Thank You for posting that. I have been admiring your layers for a while, and really wanting to try it. I have all the supplies, so am ready to give it a go. :highfive:
  20. Great looking soaps, all of them. That is a lot of soap in one night.
  21. Wow, that is great looking. I think your colors are perfect. I made a pink and green soap today with gel-tones, and wound up with a pink and dark pink, and not a pretty dark pink, either. I made mango and peach for the fruit swap, and used bright orange and a pearl white for the top, and wound up with a cream color and a hint of white for the tops. Again with gel-tones. Yours look great.
