I did a search, but came up with nothing, just wondering if anyone has tried Candle Science Strawberry in CP. I love this scent, but it does smell like it has a little vanilla in it.

Yes Top, that was the recipe I was referring to.I think I am more apprehensive about the calculater than I am about the actual lye. If you got different #s than me, using the same recipe, whats to say the lye you put in this according to the soap calc, isn't too much For a 4 lb. recipe with this its says to use 9,46 oz of lye. To me, that sounds like a lot. Guess I better sit tight until I figure this all out. Thank you all for your input. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong with the calculater.

Thank you both, What I am actually trying to do is make quiet girls recipe without the PKO, simply because I do not have any right now. I substituted it with coconut oil, and that was already in there, so I guess that is just too much. When you say too cleansing, do you mean it would be drying? Thank You, I'm thinking maybe stick with the candles, huh. I have made 4 batches of soap and pretty pleased with them, so after hearing so much good about this particular recipe, I just wanted to give it a shot.

I ran a recipe through the soap calc and got these#s. Do you think it is ok? Hardness-37 Cleansing- 24 Condition-58 Bubbly lather-24 Creamy Lather-13 Iodine-75 INS-149 I am fairly new to this and just not sure about the Iodine and INS

What is a good substitute for palm kernal flakes. I thought I saw a post on here once that had a site in it that you could go to to see what you could sub for certain oils,

I have used their fragrances and they throw very well for me, but I do not use soy, so I can't help you there. What I wish they would do is list if it is bath and body safe, also.

That is strange, cause I went ahead and burned mine again today. It has been two weeks now, and still I can't smell them.My husband says he can't either. Maybe I did something wrong, I will have to make another when I get time.

I really can't explain that. Pink Sugar is one of my favorites, and the one from ICS being the best, IMHO. But I truly couldn't smell it that well at all. I burned it half way down in a 8oz jelly jar, using a csn12 in one and a csn 14 in the other. The 12 was plenty big enough, but even both of them burning at the same time, did not throw off much scent. It has been a week or two, so I will maybe light them up again tomorrow, and see if they just needed to cure more. In answer to your question, I heat to 190,add scent and color, and pour immedietly into a heated jar. Maybe Jami will let us know what she is doing with hers, I would really like to see this scent be a good one for this.

I gotta agree with Candle Science. I love this.

Does anyone know anyplace that carries cucmber and green tea. I bought some baby wipes today in that scent, and it is so fresh and clean smelling. Bet it would be good in b&b and candles.

Wild Berry Mousse is awesome in the glass glow. Stawberry from Candle Science is very good and strong, but doesn't throw very well in the palm. I haven't had any luck with the pink sugar either from ICS. Working on the Cranberry Marmalade right now, I think it is gonna do goood, very strong out of the bottle. Thanks for starting this, I could use the help,too.

iT LOOKS TO ME LIKE IT WILL CATCH UP. tHAT IS HOW ALL OF MINE LOOKED AND YES, UNDER THAT RIM THERE IS PROBABLY A MUCH BIGGER MELT POOL. aFTER A COUPLE OF GOOD BURNS IT WILL PROBABLY CATCH UP AND BE FINE. wHAT SIZE JAR IS THAT? sORRY, jUST NOTICED MY CAPS LOCK IS ON, JUST TOO LAZY TO GO BACK AND RE-WRITE.

I don't know about the others, but Pink Bombshell, and Girls night Out, are very good and both of them throw really well. I use 6006 and J50, and 4794.

They are all nice, but I really like the third one with the stripes best. It look simple but classy.

I was meaning to get the cranberry, but got the wild berry mousse by mistake and so glad I did. It is soooo good.

After purchasing strawberry from just about every where, I bought a bottle from Candle Science. Just received it on Thursday and poured it in 4794,6006,and the new glass glow. Now after only about 24 hour cure on all of these, there is throw everywhere. And strong throw, alittle lighter in the glass glow, but still pretty good, may just need a little more cure time. It is a nice scent. Out of bottle I thought it smelled a little like a strewberry and cream lifesaver, but put it in wax, and it is just the smoothest strawberry I have ever smelled. I am really loving this. I reccomend it highly.

Jami, I got the strawberry today, and right now I have poured votives, using 4794, (and a few tarts), a 16oz wide mouth jelly jar, using 6006. Both of these I use zinc wicks for. I am getting ready to do a 16oz apothecary jar using the new glass glow, and a 16 csn wick. So far it all smells great and the strawberry smell itself is very good. I will let you know in a couple of days about the hot throw. I also poured the wilberry mousse, and am really loving that,too

Thank You all for the info, very helpful. I did order the cranbery marmalade,and now I can't wait to try it. I als ordered some strawberry,and the glass glow palm. I sure hope I like this strawberry,really having trouble with it and the ones I do like don't throw very well.

I have a bottle of Ginger Passion from Peaks, and am not real crazy about it by itself. Anyone have any ideas what to mix this with?
