  1. I have a straight ALOE from soapsupplies.net. It is just very clean smelling, not real strong, but a very nice fresh scent.
  2. Yep, it definiteley looks like a success to me, I love the color and swirl, great job!!!!
  3. Actually, I really like it too, bet you couldn't do that again if you were really trying. It is very unique, and I don't think you would have any trouble selling it.
  4. I like buzzy bumble buttermilk, and med. sea salt. All of her oils are very good, ooh I forgot, summer strawberry.
  5. Lonestar has a very nice one,too.
  6. Now, that is funny, good thing he looked twice.
  7. I love those colors, I bet the apple one smells wonderful. GOOD WORK!!!
  8. If you need any more, I will join. I have never done a swap, so ya gotta be a little patient with me and give instructions.
  9. I just started making soap and was using my candle scents in them, and just wasn't too happy with any of the ones I used, some didn't smell like anything that they were suppose to be, most changed colors terribly, I didn't have much luck at all. Then I started reading the soap suppliers web-sites and most of them test only in cp soap. I have started using OT, and am very happy with their scent,,,,although the shipping is very slow. They don't use UPS or USPS. So, if you can order about two weeks ahead of the time you need your stuff, they are great. I am gonna try some more soap making suppliers, at least with the descriptions they give, you kinda know what to expect, and when you are just starting out, that is important.
  10. Just curious, is Olive pomice the same as olive oil? I fnot, what is the difference.?
  11. Me too, I could use some constructive criticism.
  12. Those are so pretty, I wouldn't want to use them, except fo decoration. Same color as my bath, I love them.
  13. Oh, I could definitely use some help, just when I think I got it, then like tonight I come up with lye pockets. Definitely something different everytime. That is so sweet of you to offer something like this. Show what good people we have on this board.
  14. columbus food oils has it. I just ordered it last week. $36.00 for 16oz, which really isn't that bad considering what others sell it for.
  15. I did this one last night with the goats milk and I think it turned out great. I already cut it and it is very firm, tried a piece and it is very bubbly.I used BC's Sea Breeze in it and it traced fast, but was very easy to control. Thanks for sharing this with us. Next I am gonna use OT's Buzzy Bumble Buttermilk. (if it ever gets here) That scent and this recipe should be perfect.
  16. Those are very pretty, I love the color. How important is the trace.? I am thinking that as long as everything is well blended and it has gelled, that the soap is soap. Does anyone know what the trace is actually for? I did a batch yesterday and just blended until I thought it may come to trace, and poured very thin, unmolded it today and it was fine. Firmed up very nice, smelled good, and I didn't get zapped. I am just thinking I might start doing this more.
  17. I use 6006, and love it. Never any wet spots and most any scent throws very well for me. I use zinc wicks , but have been recently trying the ecos in it. I think I like the zinc better.
  18. Oh, that is very pretty, mine turned very dark brown in one day.
  19. So, would you say it is best not to gell, when using goats milk?
  20. That is good to know, I will have to try that. I learn so much on this board.
  21. Did your Goats Milk cause your soap to turn brown? I did some this morning too and used Sea Blossom in it and it was a beautiful creamy white with pink and purple swirls., Just very pretty, and I sat it on my dryer and was trying to think if I should gell or not, and when I went back in 30 minutes, it was in a full gell, which is what I think caused it to turn brown, cause my mixing bowls and what not still had the soap on them 6 hours later,(I don't wash them right away), and that soap was still very pretty. I am thinking I don't like gell.
  22. Well, it has been two days now and the strawberry still smells awful, but it is very pretty. I had put a little pink in it to swirl and things got messed up, so the whole bar is very light pink, not brown at all. On the other hand the pink sugar smells awesome, but looks like chocolate fudge, and that was with no color, was hoping it would only go to tan, but not to be. Anyway, it was fun and I learned a lesson, so that is good.
  23. AJ, I did soap the strawberry, and it didn't brown(yet), but the scent is awful. It doesn't even resemble strawberry. I know the scent is good, cause I just put it in candles the day before and it was great. Anyway, I have it curing in my spare room now, and if it doesn't change soon, it is going in the trash. It is that bad.
  24. Thanks to all of you for not making me feel as bad as I did. Some of your stories are funny, too. I was able to get it out of the molds and into the crock pot. I don't know anything about that method, so I just melted it down and added the OO, stirred real good and poured back into the molds. I guess it will be soap. I am really surprised when I took it out of the molds that I didn't get zapped, I figured it would be so lye heavy, but it wasn't. I guess it will be some kind of soap. I gotta tell you though, I used strawberry for one of them, and even before I melted it all back down, it didn't smell anything like strwberry. It had a scent, but it was awful, that hasn't changed. I wonder what caused that. The pink sugar smells real good though. Thanks again.
  25. Well, I think I earned the dumb a** award tonight. I made two, two pound batches of CP,(one srawberry and one pink sugar] I was so pleased with the way everything was going so smooth. Put them to bed with towels around them, and went to take a shower. While in there I am wondering why that recipe didn't call for OO, since most of the one I have done,do. So, I get out of the shower and go to check my recipe, yep it did need OO,(6 oz in each batch) I just looked at them and they are gelling nicely, but I know they won't be any good. What I need to know is if there is anyway to save these. Could I put them in the crock pot and maybe melt them down, then add the OO, and put them back in a mold? I could just cry, I feel so stupid, but more becaus I wasted all my good oils. Oh well, Live and Learn. Thanks for any help. :embarasse :embarasse :embarasse
