  1. Wow, those sound like some nice EO's, Its just me but I would rather have my EO's in B&B products then candles.
  2. I only used the one from DayStar, so don't know how it compares to WSP but the one from DS smells great! HTH
  3. Hmmm...thats very interesting looking, my first impression is that perhaps it was a pillar wax and the fo load is too high making it leak out. I use 4630 in my para/soy blend and its the most creamy pretty wax I have seen. I think you should stay with the wax that makes you happy but don't base all paraffin on this one time experience because clearly it looks like the wrong wax for the application.
  4. Great, thanks everyone, I don't have any e-wax handy so will get that next time I order and give these ideas a try. :smiley2:
  5. No, I haven't I'm heading over there right now to have a look, thanks Asheebeans.
  6. Thanks PMM...I just got some Mango and Cocoa Butter last week so hopefully I will find some time to switch butters to see how that goes.
  7. So far I have been lucky, all of the other candle makers at the shows I do are friendly to me and I'm friendly to them. We usually talk shop but we don't exchange our recipes or anything like that but glad we get along.
  8. So far the cubes I have been experimenting with are made with M&P and to me it seems to make them too hard and have a dragging feel on my skin instead of smooth. So I made another batch with less M&P and they feel better but are kinda soft now. :rolleyes2 So I'm wondering if I add more hard butters like cocao that would make a difference...below is the recipe I used.... 2.5 oz of shea M&P 4oz of refined shea butter 16oz of white sugar 2 Tbl of FCO 1 Tbl FO ...my last batch only had 1.5 oz of M&P and a little soft but felt better on the skin.
  9. I could never get any of my bath bombs to float either, sank straight to the bottom! Do they need to float?
  10. lol...I felt very oily last night. If you want a moisturizing butter then give that recipe a try, its real simple and quick to make. When I did my second batch I used the FCO, It could just be me, I really don't like a greasy lotion, so I'm going to give it another try with IPM and perhaps look into a body butter base also. Does anyone know of a good one?
  11. Lol...I'll trade ya...I just whipped up another batch and I put 3% cyclo and corn starch and its still greasy, I really didnt notice a difference, sooo guess I will be ordering the IMP tomorrow!
  12. Thanks TallTayl...I guess that is one more thing to add to the shopping cart, but for now, until I order that, I will give the cyclo a try and see what happens.
  13. Thanks for the replies, but I have to admit I don't know what IPM is... Ok, so it is possible to get it less greasy then, right? I'm going to try another batch with cyclo, can you use cyclo and corn startch? And once I find out what IPM is I will try some of that also. :smiley2:
  14. I just made a Shea whipped body butter today for the first time and it feels kinda oily, is it suppose to feel this way? Its a really simple recipe and I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to it to cut down on the greasy feel. I did a small tester batch, below are the ingredients I used. Thanks for any opinions :smiley2: 2.5oz of unrefined Shea (should I use refined?) 1.5oz of Sunflower oil (I have FCO also) 1/2 ts of corn startch (should I put more?) .13 oz of FO and a small amount of pearl white mica to give it a little shimmer. I melted shea, added sunflower oil and fo, along with cornstartch and mica then put in a ice cube bath for about 15min. Whipped for 10 min, it had nice peaks so I figured it was done then popped into jar.
  15. Lol....I can't even imagine trying to deal with another biz at the moment!
  16. I love the clean, neat look of your booth and I agree with another poster that you have a great smile and would look great in a green shirt to match the green in the sign. I do think a bit more color would help tho. I was at an indoor show where a vendor had colored balloons that matched their products attached to both sides of their table and it was the first thing I noticed when I walked into the show. I'm going to try it at the next show and see how it goes. Below is a picture of a very small show I did this weekend with a few Halloween props. I'm certainly not suggesting that you neon out your booth but the added colors do seem to attract attention and I always put out a little dish of candy, I noticed people love to stop by and pick up a free treat, then you get a chance to talk to them.
  17. I don't know a whole lot about them either, other then they are in TX and share a very similar name to mine. :rolleyes2
  18. Sounds great, I love when that happens.
  19. @CandyinVa...thanks I guess I never thought of that, that is a big difference. @darrel...No I never tried to refill. I guess I thought you couldn't do that with laser cartridges, isn't it more of a powder? @luinousglow...always glad to meet a fellow Floridian, what part of the state are you in? More great advice, half price works for me, next time and I hope it will be a long time before I need to get more ink I'm definitley going to search around. I needed the ink right away today, have a show on Sunday and needed labels, no time to ship.
  20. Jamie, is that for a laser or ink jet, because if it is a laser then I want to know which one and I'm going right out to get it, because my replacement ink cartridges are $71 .88 each from Office Depot and my printer takes 4 cartridges!
  21. I know ink is expensive for the printers but seriously I just had to pay a small fortune today to replace my Yellow, Cyan and Magenta for my laser printer, thank goodness the black is ok. Why does it all run out at once and why is it so expensive? I have an HP Color Laser and I know the ink will last a while but I still see no reason for it to be so expensive!
