  1. You silly!!! I was pretty upset when they moved a little farther up the road from where they were.....but with all these ladies and gents paying an armload for shipping....what's a few extra minutes? "But officer, I had to pick up my fragrance oils before WSP closed.... " LOL Then I can start sobbing because I am hopelessly addicted to fragrance and could he please get me some help? That is, if he can pry me loose from his muscular police-man shoulder....
  2. I read the list and I think I am going through the stages..... shock anger sadness acceptance Yes, it is true. I am a FOHO.
  3. No, but the drink sounds awful yummy.........
  4. If you are doing CP, don't forget about BCN's Pumpkin Pie Closeout. OMG, out of the bottle I was ready to pitch it! But, soap it and give it a chance.....the spice really comes out after a couple weeks of cure. It was my best-seller last year! Edited to add that I have also tried AH/RE Pumpkin Pie fragrance that is body-safe and it is rather heavy on the clove. Perfect for a spice-lover. HTH
  5. All I can remember about BCN is that awful, awful Mountain Lake! I think my house smelled like that fragrance a month after I poured it. It is ridiculously strong and obnoxious smelling. Like cheap cologne or motel soap. Ugh! :lipsrseal
  6. I really like AH/RE's Lemon Chiffon, Southern Pecan Pie (OMG, it is sooo yummy smelling and true!), Blueberry Muffins and NG's Iced Cinnamon Buns. To name a few! I LOVE bakery scents....so I could keep listing all day long!
  7. Anyone have any hints/ideas? It's not a bad fragrance, IMO, but I think people are turned off by the name. Any suggestions on how to "fancy" it up a little? ;) Thanks in advance!
  8. I've got a MP soap that was made with Heartfelt's Lilac and OMG it is still knock-you-over-strong! I got it back in June. It is super-strong and very true. You may want to check it out! Heartfelt Candle Supplies. p.s. I hear her Apple Danish fragrance is out of this world!
  9. Isn't it great?!? I skipped the sniffy and went straight for the pound too! I've almost used it up and ready to order another!
  10. Yep. I bought a case recently and hadn't known about the issues still going on......I went on a candle pouring spree and poured nearly the whole case before I found out they were still having issues. You should see my ugly, frosted, cracking candles. I am beyond peeved! These were for a show, too! I read on their site that you are supposed to add Crisco to your wax at one ounce per pound of wax. With the little bit of wax remaining, I am going to try the Crisco thing and see if it works. It's a shame when you have to add additives to a "NO ADDITIVES NEEDED" product! Don't get me wrong, I love NG and buy quite a bit of stuff from them, but they sure got my panties in a twist over this one! edited to add: sinkholes have always been a problem with this wax but I accepted it because of the awesome scent throw both hot/cold. BUT, with these other issues, my wax is so cracked and ugly it actually looks like the jar itself is cracked in spots! I miss the old Joy! (
  11. I love WSP! Thank goodness I live about 45 minutes from them, so I usually order big and then pick it all up! I remember the first time I went to order from them, it was when they still had pottery. I was going to order a case of pottery and it cost more to ship than the pottery itself! I was so steamed, I was going to fire off an angry letter to them about their shipping, and when I went to the "contact us" section..... I saw they were about 30 minutes from my house. Oh, how my mood changed! LOL
  12. I've just started getting mine from a person on ebay who sells regularly. (Kraft labels) If you are interested, PM me.
  13. I think I am almost where you are now. I have lots of ideas, very little time! Working full time and trying to make a go of a business is a bugger, especially when you throw babies into the mix.
  14. I was going to recommend NG's Hot Fudge Brownie fragrance if you were still looking for a really good one. OMG, that one is yummy!
  15. The few that I have tried worked wonderfully in candles. I use Joywax, btw.
  16. I was thinking sugar cookie, but darn, everyone does sugar cookie! Have you ever smelled the Tiramisu scent from AromaHaven/RE? OMG, Heaven in a bottle!!! Maple Pecan Streusel from WSP is pretty yummy too! I just bought another pound of it and can't stop sniffing it!
  17. I submitted my site to Yahoo, Google and MSN for free. You just have to sift through all the ads trying to get you to pay to get listed....
  18. Most of my line has NG fragrances. Yes, I would recommend them, most definitely. Their customer service is out of this world, too!
  19. Easy! I get about four to five hours of sleep a night and walk around work looking like a scary red-eyed fright-fest! LOL I do candles when the babies are awake (BTW, I have one that will be 3 in December and my other little one is 19 months old) but occupied. If they are underfoot I won't make any. I will wait until they go to sleep or are settled in for the night. Soap is actually harder for me, because I mix my lye water outside. My exhaust fan over the stove is broken, plus one of the babies has health problems so I don't even want the fumes in the house at all. Of course you can't leave 2 curious toddlers roaming the house while you are outside mixing up lye water.....so soaping is usually done when hubby gets home from the second shift job. At that time, the babies are still awake, so the stickblender doesn't bother them, but they are settled in for the evening with their little movie or show. BUT, doing soap that late I can only get one batch done in a night. Did I mention that I work full-time too? Yep, a glutton for punishment! I deal with it though. I always wanted my own business, and I have it.....but I always wanted a family too, and I have that. I love my biz, but my babies come first. I can always go back to candles, but my babies won't be babies forever, KWIM? Just take things slowly while your little ones are little, and enjoy them. Once they get older and it's not cool to be seen with mom anymore....you'll have plenty of time for soaping and candlemaking! Good luck to you!
  20. I vote for the Jay Ashby & Co. one too..........I just changed my biz name that was half my name, half my hubby's. Now it is longer, but I like it more!
  21. I made the switch to DIY and I am so glad that I did! My other site was doing nothing for me.
  22. WOW, thanks everyone! Alot of these sound positively delish!! I'll need to write some of these down........
  23. I've been using Joywax since it came out AND using zincs and never had a problem with scent throw.....my candles are super strong and I have never had a single complaint about them being weakly scented. (I've actually had a complaint or two about them being *too strong!* LOL) Hmmm....I'm trying to think what else could be the problem. Are you weighing your oils, or measuring them out by volume? I pour candles and cap them soon after pouring. (Don't know if that really makes a difference fragrance-wise, but it cuts down on my sinkholes! LOL) Are you pouring into over-heated jars? I did that once and it seemed to cook off some of my fragrance. What jars are you using? I've gotten great results out of 4 jars that I have tested, and I don't deviate from those. (Trust me, I tested a BUNCH of others that gave me just awful results! What a pain in the ar$e!) I can't remember all of the fragrances you said that you purchased, but LoveSpell sticks out. Now, LoveSpell is super-stinky same day and by next day it is ready to run me out of my home! I am thinking *maybe* part of the problem is that you have a case of candle nose. Put the candles away and don't make any new ones for a day or two. Then go back and give them a whiff, and have the coffee grounds ready as well. I don't know how many times I have complained that a candle smelled too weak and I gave it to someone to smell and they looked at me like I was nuts! This is the time of year that it happens, too! Ahhhh.....busy season! LOL The time we need our sniffers the most, and they are fried-out on fragrance! Good luck to you! Testing can be frustrating but sooo worth it in the end!
  24. Cafe Caramel from NG is awesome!!! I also like their Hazelnut Coffee, although it is more sweet than nutty. (I think that's why I like it so much! )
  25. Another vote here for AromaHaven!! Theirs is the strongest I have ever smelled, and very sweet and true!
