  1. Wow, that's a cool tip! Thanks so much for sharing that, as I have a *ton* of lipbalms to pour!
  2. I finally broke down and bought a heat gun today! Once I get over my sheer terror of it, perhaps I will use it too! LOL I did a search under "heat gun" and found some great info. One thing I didn't see is if anyone uses a special workspace when using these. I usually work in my kitchen and don't want to mess up my kitchen countertops! I already have this vision, too, of me melting shrinkwrap to my soap until I get the hang of it!! My hair dryer is getting retired. I am tired of splashed wax and scared babies every time I turn that old dinosaur on!
  3. I found this thread while doing a search on bath tablet makers. I am interested in buying these and wondering who sells the sturdiest tablet maker and has the best turnaround time? (I'm impatient and want to try them NOW! LOL) So far I have seen soap and candle supplies, rj, ellens essentials and soapwizards that carry them. Anyone tried one from one or more particular company that wants to plug them? Thanks in advance!
  4. Oh yeah, I had feelings of inadequacy before I even saw Grumpy Girl's totally awesome 7 color swirl!!! Now? I am trying to come to terms with the fact that I am swirl-impaired and ugly-soap destined!
  5. Holy sheep sh##!!!! Those are the most beautiful, colorful swirlies I have ever seen in my life! Total swirl porn, thanks for sharing!
  6. Yep, I saw that after I bought them. Thank goodness I used the 40% off coupon.....it makes it a little (40% to be precise) less painful that I just wasted $$$. Screw it, I'm investing in colored foils!! I may have the most boring bombs in town, but they will be in pretty shiny foils! LOL
  7. I made light pink bombs.....and got light pink bubbles too! I guess I answered my own question....
  8. Is it just me, or does soaking in a tub of slime seem a little "ick".
  9. AH/RE has one too but it is heavy on the clove IMO.
  10. I'm going to try and whip up a batch of these tonight so that I can play.....
  11. I was wondering if the bubbles turn out different colors.....I've been searching and hadn't found anyone posting about the bubbles changing color, just the bathwater. (Assuming the folks who did answer were talking about the regular, non-bubbling bombs) TIA!!
  12. I make mine the color of apple pie too.
  13. I had that same problem recently. I made a few super-scented candles and actually left them sit in the mold to try and kill the smell. NO success yet! How disappointing. I didn't think to ask if they smoked....and my mold smells like a filthy ashtray/smelly basement fragrance! Yuk! :lipsrseal
  14. Here's a place that has them: http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/candies/candyfoils/candyfoils.htm
  15. Two good ones that I can think of right away are Chocolate Drizzle by WSP and NG's Hot Fudge Brownies. Those are both super strong and super chocolatey
  16. I am sorry to hear about your loss and I hope you are doing okay. Ebay is good for getting your name out there, but you sure take a hit as far as $$ goes! There are so many candlemakers on there it is really hard to compete. I wonder how half of them can sell as cheaply as they do.
  17. Yeah, avoid ebay unless you see a reputable supplier on there selling. (Every once in a blue moon AromaHaven/RE will sell there) I would recommend Natures Garden for fragrances, but I have also tried some great ones from ICS, AH/RE, WSP & BCN. WSP is a killer on the shipping, unless you order from their sister site for fragrances.....if you order $50 worth of fragrance the shipping is free!
  18. It's funny....for me, Cuke & Melon does super in B&B sales. Put that scent in a candle, and I can barely give it away unless it is in a gift basket with a crapload of B&B products!!!
  19. Wow, that is some serious soap porn!! Gorgeous soaps and what pretty swirls, too!
  20. Custom boxes. I do the stamping and cut-out myself.... Pain in the butt to do, but they sure do add something to the finished product.
  21. Pick NG's Hot Fudge Brownies!! Very fudgy, chocolatey scent that is super-strong!
  22. I've got 2 left of the Gershel Bros. ones (2 or 3 step type) that I was going to ebay. I only needed 3, but they ship in boxes of 5. PM me if you are interested.
  23. NG's was so strong I had to keep extinguishing my tester....the smell was overwhelming! It's a good thrower, and a keeper for those who like caramel apple scents. I use Joy, BTW. HTH
  24. I would recommend NG on the Orange Juice Cake and the Banana Nut Bread too. Both are best sellers for me! I still haven't found "the" carrot cake that I love. I want just the right combo of spice/sweet, and I honestly haven't found it yet. Good luck!
  25. She is so great to work with and does awesome work! Very reasonably priced, too. If you are looking for country/prim/whimsical graphics....look into Trina Clark Designs! www.clipartbytrina.com No, I don't work for her, but I am one VERY satisfied customer!
