  1. Congrats! someone is going have a very nice Christmas lol! everything looks great, i can see why you make that much and i'm sure you earned it.
  2. ok, just checked email again, i did get a answer back from the place, they say its polydenfin flim, does anyone know if the shrink wrap you can buy on a roll is called this ?
  3. HAs anyone use the left over shrink flim that you put on windows to wrap tarts in ? i did some lastnight and they look ok, just not sure if the its the same type of shrink wrap that you can buy for tarts & etc. i got orders for 6 more baskets with warmers & tarts but she wants me to wrap 2 tarts togather instead of the 6 tarts to a bag that i usually do. normally i put 4 bags of tarts in the basket , so split them up that will be 12 different scents to each basket, 60 tarts, i normaly bag them in the 4x6 zip lock bags, so i can't use them. the window shrink wrap looks good that i done and would do fine if it don't , suck up the scent from the tarts. i emailed the company to ask if it was polypro but no answer yet.:undecided
  4. I made some tarts with this scent and found out i needed to let it cure for a few days, first time i melted a tart, the next day, i thought it wasn't strong, was going to write it off my scent list but then my DIL called me a few days later and was telling me how good it smells, so i tried another tart and it was stronger. i use ky parsoy. i also have trouble smelling anything with vanilla in it. it must be stronger than what i think because i have gotten quite a few orders for this scent from just a few people that has gotten a sniff of it.
  5. Cherry Slush don't make me gag... but i can't hardly can to make my tarts in this scent. it takes my breath away. i had a order and had to make some today, i had trouble just breathing around it.
  6. another vote for ky's hot apple pie...its my best seller in my tarts and i use ky's parsoy for tarts/ votives. haven't tried any other place's apple pie .
  7. i can think of 3 things right now that i learned the hard way. Read about something before doing it, had i done this iwould never had melted the small plastic dish on my first scale, by pouring FO right into to measure. Buy scents/ fo from a good candle supply store , after driving about hour to buy from store close to me, found out they smell ok, on shelfs but when i order a larger bottle on all of them, they were no good, my gut told me from look of store that it was no good. dumb me bought some anyway. now buy from only well known supplier. Last one is... just because someone else raves about that scent, doesn't mean you will like it or your customers, bought cranberry spice last year , after everyone was talking about it, not only did i not like it...nobody else in my area did. so my lesson learnt from this was to buy sample, first then buy larger amount next time , also learnt the hard way that i nor any of my customers like anything that smells like a man after shave/ colonge and only love spell a few ladies like. the best esson i learnt was just because i think something smells great, don't mean that customers will:) i have made a lot of mistakes and have learnt a lot from the people on this board.
  8. I put mine in tart wax.. real strong, could have used just an 1/2 ounce . heres a thread on it. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36736&highlight=casaba+mist but to me it smells like a man after shave. so i'm going remelt and add a little more wax then use in bathroom, but i know it won't sell . nobody around here likes scents like this. of course now everyone smell something different, just like you might,
  9. I'm thinking it has a little mint and clove , haven't put on the warmer yet. when i was young, i loved the smell of this gum and taste, i had to stop myself from eating it lol!
  10. You're going love ky's teaberry, i just got this scent in yesterday and got it in tart wax this morning, it smells like a big pot of teaberry gum. if it stay strong in warmer a few hours , this is going be one of my favorites.
  11. gmp, if learning how to make candles is what you want to do, then keep at it, so much to learn to do them right and takes so much time that you have to be ready to give. i been at this for over 2 years , and would never sell a candle, one reason is because i know i would never sell enough to cover the ins. thats needed. nor would i want to give up my time for the craft shows and things that so many of these good people that sell candles do. it something i'm sure they enjoy. for me the tarts , are what i make and sell plenty to keep me busy and i make up basket with them & warmers in it.also sell good. yet don't take up so much of my time. so like someone else suggested, give tarts a try , you might be like me and want to make & sell tarts only. for myself i do make container candles and just make me some pillars for my fireplace mantle , underwicked just so they would light up pretty but not over flow, i just don't like the look of a crooked over spilled candle , so hang in there, you got the right attitude to be able to learn how to make a good candle.
  12. Very nice job, one big enough for a pillar would look pretty too , i like them because its different than all the metal stuff you see in the stores.
  13. Hot apple pie Cherry slush Orange chiffon Cake cinnamon red hots , for those that like cinnamon, this is my DIL's favorite peppermint is the real thing mulberry hot toddy these are just a few

  19. OH, i hate to hear this , i just orderd a few more scents off her last week. My son loves the northern star and she's the only place i've found it.
  20. Before i bought me some of the standard size tart molds, i used mini muffin pans as well as reg. size , you can line with the paper cups or not. i use the parsoy for tarts and they come out easy after cooled, you can also put them in fridge for a few mins to make them pop out easy.
  21. all i can say is God Bless our hubby :yay: mine don't understand what its all about when it comes to my new scents but he's my best tester and biggest supporter in my hobby.
