  1. Can I ask what made you change? When you changed the site design did you change your SEO setting or code? Or did the new design slow down your page loading time? Have you noticed any difference in page loading time between the old host and the new one? According to Google page speed is a factor in its search ranking algorithms. So the faster your website loads, the better it ranks on Google. So in your design make sure your graphics are compressed. Some web hosting providers offer a function called "optimize website." Dis the old host submit your site to search engines and the new one not? Just some questions I thought of that you can ask yourself in trying to figure it out. Would be a shame to have to spend more money to move it back when there might be a no cost solution. HTH.
  2. I agree with Candybee. Spend some time on her website(s). And maybe check to see how her site ranks on search engines?
  3. I have gotten 2 from Banners on the Cheap. Very happy with them. http://www.bannersonthecheap.com.
  4. I"m going to be making some men's shaving kits. (shaving soap, mug and brush) WSP has brushes, does anyone know who else has them? I prefer Made in USA, but I'm finding wild price swings. I need 16 to start. Anyone know a place to get custom mugs as well? TIA!
  5. I have always loved BCN Spice Cranberry. To my nose it's a stronger "spice" or maybe more "tart" than other Spice Cranberry FO's. But it's not soap safe. Anyone know a good dupe that is? s
  6. Thanks everyone! These are only about a week old so fingers crossed they don't discolor any more. :tiptoe:
  7. Nothing special, coconut milk scented coconut milk soap with cocoa powder to simulate coconut shell and shredded soap on top. I just wanted to show what outdoor lighting can do.
  8. Thanks Scented! As you can see below, I still have a ways to go. Here's a link to Vinvela Ebony's website.. Here's the demonstrating the dandelion Zebra swirl technique. I was fun!
  9. I like NG's OCP a lot but I do wish the chili note was a tad stronger...too bad OCP isn't soap safe.
  10. Thanks! I think it will take me a kazzilion attempts before I can make one that is as gorgeous as Vinveli's. She's quite the soap artist!
  11. Soap Irony...Dirty Hippie...and Soap. Straight dark patchouli EO and my first attempt at dandelion Zebra swirls. Next batch I'll add some neon pink and neon blue. (Which I didn't have...grrrrr)
  12. Thanks Scented. I was just looking at SW. That means I'd have to get at least one other FO, cuz I can never order just one FO. ( I think that's a law, isn't it? ) SOOOOooooo....what else?...Hmmmm...
  13. I always spray with alcohol. I just can't seem to figure out why I get ash sometimes and other times I don't. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the actual soaping room temp and humidity. I decided I don't really want to risk messing up my base recipe with the beeswax since I worked so hard to get it just right, so I broke down and spent $22 bucks on a handheld steamer. It's fast and works like a charm. Pretty, shiny tops.
  14. I really love NG's Yuzu...but to me it seems really light and fleeting in CP even at max recommended usage of 5%. My customers love it in lotions & sprays but say they wish it was stronger in the soap. Anyone recommend a Yuzu that's stronger/stickier? Is there an additive I can try? TIA!
  15. I don't make lip gloss, lipstick and mineral makeup but I recently discovered the miraculous wonders of natural light. I have a light box too but if I take a product pic outside at about 8:30-9:00 AM EST, I am amazed at the difference.
  16. Sorry if this has been asked already. I searched but didn't find anything. I read somewhere (can't remember where) about adding .5% BW to prevent soda ash. Is that .5% to the whole batch, or just the oils? I'm happy with my basic recipe, except for getting ash occasionally and have some BW so thought I might give it a try. Does it accelerate trace or heating during gel phase. TIA!
  17. I love love love to use calendula infused olive oil in soap.
  18. Yes, there's instructions that come with them to remove the embellishments before burning. The lace is attached by the pearls, which are just short pins.
  19. Yesterday's project. I made these for a beachside bead and art gallery. They're soy pillars, scented vanilla. I embedded a vintage mermaid graphic in the 9 inch, and then blinged them up with vintage lace, beads, sea glass and an enameled star fish...
  20. The cans I use had the pop tops that create a rim. It's not very sharp but I always tell people to use a long BBQ lighter to light them.
  21. I had a couple free samples, bacon and beer, (blech) so I made these in soup cans for Fathers Day. I blinged them up by wrapping the cans in strips of recycled denim, and then tied some recycled washers onto some strips of black suede. I asked the man of the house to help me figure out a “manly” photo shoot set up, and of course he came up with “in front of the grill.”
