  1. I use the little bags from the candy ilse..that you would use to wrap suckers or candy...they hold 6oz of salts or milk bath. I also use them for soap etc..they are the perfect size for a bar of soap..fold flap over and slap on it...or for salts I twist tie them and add a sheer ribbon. I am not at home or I would tell you the exact size.:undecided I get them from a store called Pat Catans..I know they are in PA and Ohio..and are a parent co of Darice..they are like $1.50 for 100
  2. They are still negotiating the $$$ ..I am not making any plans to move until they have a firm deal and we HAVE to start packing..and even then I am waiting till the last minute to do this..I have been through that before and I am not making that mistake again..so we will wait and see what happens. They are supposed to let him know the deal this week and then we will go back with a counter offer if it is not workable..They are very family oriented so they know if it wont work for us we wont take it. Plus we will be short my income until I can find a part time job down there...so we have to take that into consideration as well. As of right now..I am doing business as usual.
  3. They are only there wed 9-7 and Sat/Sunday are the days it is open..Wed is only for vendors and I am supposed to have a curtain closed on my space like everyone else when I am not there..but they had to get stuff to put up my wire for me. I have the cafe rings and black fabric under my table ready to go...they better get it up on Sat..I hate the fact that it is open..nothing is missing though..
  4. Very nice..WHERE did you find those bowls with 'SOAP' on them..those are toooo cute!
  5. great ideas..I have a picture to hang and some things to take still..I have been working pretty much 24/7 to get it ready with my job and kids..I have been taking new stuff each week. I think I need to put up more shelves as well..I still have gift baskets to make and take..and those are bulky and will fill things in nicely. I like the throw rug idea..was worried someone would trip over it but the booth across from me has one..looks nice..hmmm..darn I have been avoiding big lots but I bet I could find a nice black rug there.
  6. LOL...oops..I was running around like crazy one morning tyring to get all my stuff together and printed out my sign..guess I forgot to proof it. I have more pics to..my star melts in self serve jars are doing real well..guess I need to make more of those..I took more closeup pics to..I will put those on tonight. It is a Market Place..kinda like a Flea Market but better..there is a bridal shop, coffee shop(awsome frozen capuccino:D ), pizza shop and all kinds of VERY nice booths in there..that is why I decided to give it a whirl. Not doing bad so far..they said this is a slow month..but I already made my rent for next month and product replacement..and a bit more. They still have not hung my wire for my black curtains that cover my booth when it is closed..they promised it would be up saturday..which will add a nice warm feel to the booth..I am going to tie them back with pretty ribbon during open hours...I also have white lights and white sheer fabric up around the top of the booth. CAN'T wait till holiday season.
  7. ...I will add more when I download the rest from my camera. I have been so busy making stuff and getting things ready ..plus my full time job..I have not even had time to check the board in 3 days. But here are a few OK...fixed the pics
  8. Thanks for the info..I adjusted a few and also kept a few ..easy ones lower.. I sold a decent amount in my booth today..gave away ALOT of magnets with my website..and product info sheets.. will see if it stirs up any internet orders..I have the order online..pick up at booth option...people did not seem like my prices were high..at all HOWEVER...the people who own the market place told me my candles would not do well..that no ones had..I am selling more candles than B&B...HA! to them...he he
  9. OK..I don't think I want to dip into EO's yet..scratch that..It is a good scrub without it so I will go with it like it is..I guess if it ain't broken dont fix it right. Thank you all for being so straight with me on this.. I don't think I want to take the chance with it. ..my ex father in law wholesales tee tree and eucalyptus oils..and he was suggesting this stuff to me..but I have to say with everything I have going on right now..I dont want to do it if I cant do it right. I might throw a bit in mine just to try it out though. Hey and thanks for the links..I saved them in my b&b info file...for later reference.
  10. Robin thanks for that info..great to read this stuff.. I was thinking because it is good for acne..that it would be nice to put in a face scrub..I personally like using the brown sugar scrubs on my face..but wanted to add the tea tree for the antibacterial reasons..I guess maybe maxing it out is not the best.. what do you personally think would be a SAFE amount to put just to add that little bit of antibacterial stuff to it...I used about 10-15 drops in a 4oz bottle of witch hazel and aloe mix..and it was fine for MY face.. but I dont want to sensitize other as you say.. see this EO thing just gets me..I personally like FO's better..but I know EO's are better for you..well most of the time anyway.
  11. I KNOW this question was asked and answered and I did a search just putting in Tea Tree..and could not find the answer..I am about to pull out my hair..cause I need to know this by 6 tonight when I start on my brown sugar face scrubs.. we need a hair pulling out icon how much in ML's would you put in a 16oz batch..I guess I am asking the max you could put in without it bothering someones skin. :undecided
  12. Excellent point! I am going to test out my shower gel as well and see how many quarter size blobs it takes to empty a bottle. Sugar scrub if used over the whole body is probably 2 uses. :undecided of course that is in my standards..and I am a sugar scrub aholic..I slather that stuff as much as possible. I think eventually I will have to up the scrubs to 16oz..esp if I get customers that like it like I do...or just maybe offer both sizes.
  13. Thanks for that info..I guess I just see how small they are but I guess when you have body butter that goes a long way it is better to sell it in smaller quantites anyway.. body shop has containers that are flatter and larger..so it looks like you are getting more..maybe cause my jars are smaller in diameter but taller they just seem like they are ity bity to me.
  14. That would not work for me..dang..I need a big ol 50# er...I use a lot of sea salt and epsom..but the epsom is cheaper at walmart than having it shipped. I worked at a local wholesale place years ago..and I remember them selling it for cooking use in big bags..I have NO idea why I have not thought about checking with them..oh wait maybe it is because that is the worst job I ever had in my life and dont ever want to go back there:laugh2: . ..maybe I will make hubby go check it out for me.
  15. It includes all costs except utilties... No one else close to here makes handmade bath & body stuff..it is all Avon, Mary Kay and companies like that. :undecided oh and the Body Shop.. other than that I can only compare prices with wallyworld and the dollar store. Guess I am looking to see if those are average from everyone else..what is the high and what is the low..I know areas are going to be different.. guess the bottle is throwing me off..when I first started I used the 8oz cosmo bottles...I liked those ..have no idea WHY I switched...plus the front was nice and flat for labels...these little suckers are PITA to label...esp the jars..I have to cut some of the top and bottom off the label for them to fit
  16. ..ok..had it figured out for 8oz..decided to go 4oz..now I had to refigure my prices..and it seems low to me for the work involved in making these..what do you think? I use bases if that helps..but it is still time consuming mixing, pouring, labeling etc. all these are 4oz..cost listed does not include labor (bottle)shower gel cost is $1.01 wholesale would be 2.25 retail is $4.95 (bottle) silk & satin lotion cost is $1.18 wholesale would be 2.25 retail is $4.95 (jar) body butter cost is $1.49 wholesale would be 2.50 retail is $6.95 (jar) salt glow cost is $.92 wholesale is $2.25 retail is $4.95 (jar) sugar scrub cost is $1.09 wholesale is 2.25 retail is $4.95 these jars and bottles seem soooo small to me I used 4 oz aluminum and they did not seem this small ...why does the clear ones seem smaller? I should have went with big honkin 8oz or 16oz containers.
  17. what about a wholesale food distribution place..we have a couple around here and I don't know why I have not thought of checking there.:undecided
  18. So in other words. These will last a life time. I was wondering how well they held up in MP..I use them for sugar scrub and I barely dipped the end of a toothpick in the pink..for Pink Shuga..and got a very vibrant pink. Hope I can get that same color in my MP ..think I am going to do a batch of it tonight.
  19. EXCELLENT! I bought one of every color they had a while back to use in sugar scrubs and then forgot about it when I made my scrubs last night. But I still have to make my shea soap..so I think I will dip into those. Michi how much would you add to get a nice bright pink in say a 3# batch? Looks like a little goes a LONNNNNNGG way..but curious how much you have been able to work with and how they came out.
  20. TOOOO Many! I have in stock like 55..and I need to cut down my actual list to 25 including my holiday ones
  21. Here is the description of the one from Keystone:(I get mine from them) A blend of cinnamon, apple, orange and pine that gives great compliments to each other Here is NG's description: Wonderful Christmas combination of apples, oak, balsam, fir, and pine, with a background of cinnamon and clove I love it..it is a great holiday scent..warm and spicy..Christmas food:drool:
  22. RED..Christmas Red..one of my best sellers at Christmas..however, I do not call it Christmas Splendor..just Splendor..so I can sell it all year.
  23. done that before..lol I do test on a tin pie plate but I put a BIG drop on it ..with Fo added in as well..so I can see what it will look like..those little drops....it always seems a bit darker in the jar as well..when it is over a larger area. Cierra Candle has a color mixing pie chart on their site for reference..I have one in my Candle Book :smiley2: http://www.cierracandles.com/colorwheel.aspx
  24. Thanks ...I think I will probably have to go the 2% to get what I want out of it..I am off 2 ML then.. will give it a whirl tonight with spring rain and citrus & basil..I still have to mix up some of those.. The only one that seemed to be strong enough was my blend of eucalyptus, lavender and mint..and I think that is becuase those are strong fo's :undecided I did still smell the 'base' smell in one or two of them..the others no 'base' smell but the fragrance was faint.
