  1. Since I am not actualy making a lip balm and I do want to make it a bit sweeter...would powdered sugar work?...it looks like the same texture as super sweet.
  2. What is a substitue that can be used other than SuperSweet? The supplier I order from is out and I want to try a recipe ASAP. Is there anything that can be purchased in a grocery store that can be used? This is my first Lip product experience...and yes if it works out and tests well I will be selling it so this is not something that 'if you are only using it for yourself use this' will work. I will post results if it works out...or even it doesn't so you know what 'Not' to do. LOL
  3. I would think a regular scrub would taste kind of nasty if you get it in your mouth. I make my sugar scrub in a soapy base...and the thought of that on my lips is not appealing.
  4. Peaks Keystone (been with them since they were Kinghouse) NG Tri State That is pretty much it...I have used some BC stuff but not as impressed with them as I am with the others....and the last thing I need is ANOTHER supplier on my list.
  5. How about boxes with clear lids...you can put shred in the bottom lie the stuff in there neatly and put the lid on it PLUS still see everything. You can tie the box with ribbon plus still see your pretty labels also. I have seen those in lots of packaing catalogs Nashville Wraps or Can Creations might even have them.
  6. I would think that would defeat the purpose of a milk bath. Milk has good stuff for the skin and having a 'non dairy' creamer in there would not really give anything beneficial to the bath...just stuff scented in a package. :undecided Dry Milk Powder is avaialbe in pretty much every grocery store ...give that a whirl instead. My recipe should still be on this board somewhere and if not ..there are tons of Milk Bath recipes out there. I have not been on here in a while. I see lots of newbies!
  7. Thanks all! Got some great ideas but still in a panic. This is a huge festival and I have never ever done a festival. Have no idea how much stuff to take :undecided There is approx 20,000 people over 2 days...in an amusement park the last week it is open. It has been around for a very long time. Any ideas on how much stuff I should take? My best selling items are sugar scrubs, body butter, lotion, soap, bath bombs and 8oz jelly jar candles.
  8. Not soy but www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com has ALOT of bases...I have used several and not had a problem with a single one so far. Their shower gel is AWSOME...seems with the fragrances I have used no matter much FO it still has lots of lather which is a plus for me. Satin & Silk Lotion is a huge hit with my customers as is the Body Butter. I have heard lots of good things about their goats milk lotion but have not tried it YET. I have used Millcreek as well...had a mold issue with one of the batches of lotion which was enough to send me to another supplier. I agree the gel thins alot. www.the-sage.com has some bases as well. I love their glycerine scrub base..I use more sugar than they recommend so I dont get as much separation after it sitting overnight. I had a soy craze where I used to live for a while as well.. I don't go by that anymore...as far as what I carry. In fact the only thing soy I have now is a soy blend wax for my candles. I have learned over the years...it if is a good product and customers can try it out...they don't care what it is made of(soy, shea, goats milk) I prefer stuff with Sunflower oil and shea butter now..personally and my customers seem to love it so I go with the flow.
  9. OOOhhh....forgot about red current. I have that one from Peaks. Love it in Bath Bombs.
  10. Really? In bath & body? Now the Chai and latte ones sound pretty darn good.
  11. hmmm... watermelon margarita I have never ordered from them before. I will have to check them out. Thanks
  12. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin? Where is that from? Is it body safe? Sounds wonderful. I might need to throw in some cappuccino hazlenut and chocolate sugar scrubs as well.
  13. Been out of the loop for a little while. Wondering what some of the New 'Great' fragrances are that are out there. Peaks, Keystone and NG especially! Need to update my B&B Line a bit...smelled that new Orchid from BBW the other day.. WOW...wonder if anyone has duped it yet?
  14. ..but I have been told that I should do this HUGE festival at an amusement park in the fall ...I think it is the last week of Sept. Anyway. I am not doing as many candles except for what I make in Bath & Body. Do you have any good FALL bath & body suggestions? Scents or products that I should start working on now and testing so I can do this in Sept. :undecided I have my basic line but I figured I should throw in some fall themed stuff as well. Pink Sugar does not sound fall to me...nor does Sweet Pea or Spring Rain and those are my best sellers. What are you fall best sellers?
  15. Are there any good recipes that you can make oatmeal bath without having to use a bag? I ground up oatmeal and it is a very fine powder...was thining of adding it to some of my milk bath recipe maybe half oatmeal half milk bath for a good soaking in the summer or when skin is dry & itchy. I have not used oatmeal much so if you all could also tell me why you have to use the uncooked and not the quick oats that would be great! Since I moved and am in new territory the things that sold well where I was don't sell so much here but people are aksing me for things that I have thought about making and have yet to. FIGURES! :undecided
  16. I used infusium a long long time ago...may have to try the light formula. Thanks!
  17. I personally have not had luck with diluting conditioner...for me or my daughter...but both of us have very fine hair. Mine is naturally curly and hers is straight...but tangles horrible and she has a sensitive scalp and has a fit every time I comb or brush her hair. I have tried the cylo sprays for hair as well..but they leave it greasy looking... helps with the detangle part but looks like the hair was not washed in weeks.
  18. I bought some at walmart before as well..haven't seen them since though...it was during the holiday season so you might be in luck there.
  19. I work for a large major company in sales and if you don't have PROOF someone agreed to buy something ...they don't have to pay. We have had several clients state to us they did not agree to a particular contract and we had no signature to back it up from a very irresponsible sales person. So they got by without paying thousands after they got the advertising. Who are we supposed to believe an irresponsible sales person who might have just wanted extra money or the client who said they did not want it or might be trying to get out of a bill? Ask them to furnish the proof you agreed to do this? Where is the signed paper stating you agreed to a $200 ad AND use of your information. Where is the signed paper that said they could use your 'personal' phone number and your email address Where is the signed proof you let them take copywrited pictures from your website. (Walmart even requires this if you have pictures to reproduce that even "LOOK" like they were taken by a professional...my husbands band 'owned' pictures taken by a friend that was a photographer and he did not charge them for the pics...just gave them the disk to do as they wished...Walmart would not let me get the pictures developed for they guys without written permission)Tell them if they can't furnish all 3 of these then you are not paying the bill. PERIOD! ...and will contact a lawyer about the copywrite infrigement and publishing your personal cell phone number. Don't let these people bully you into paying for this. I had this happen with one of those long distance companies several years ago...they 'said' they were Sprint...when actually it was a no name company using Sprint's lines...I had Sprint and thought I was just getting a better deal..UNTIL I got my phone bill.
  20. 8oz jar candles anything pink sugar bath bombs sugar scrub
  21. Where on earth do you find broccoli seed oil?...that is the first time I have ever heard of that one. Sounds like something I need to make for my daughter.
  22. You can also make 1/2 bombs and put them together and wrap up so it looks like 'one' big one in the package but is actually 2 halves.
  23. I agree! I have been trying for years to find a professional one I am happy with and can afford the quantity on. B&B ones are the worst becuase of the ingredients. I just use the waterproof ones right now from Elements Bath & Body and do them myself. :undecided
  24. Cleaning out junk and stuff I don't really use that takes up valueable space Reducing my line to only the best selling items/scents...I am cutting out 9 Bath & Body products and 5 scents...plus some candle scents...nixing the 16oz Jelly Jar Candle since I sell maybe one every once in a while. Buying more in bulk to save $$ Getting a space ready gradually to eventually open a shop in that we were just using for storage/warehouse/band practice space. Finding things I know I have somewhere but packed in the move and well they are still MIA :undecided...like my metal spoon things I use to stir wax...some b&b bottles...cello bags....and I am sure there is more. Increasing my Sugar Scrub size per customer request Changing my labels to something simpler but more 'user friendly' for each packaging size...concentraing on the name rather than a 'logo'...also getting some lables professionally done....for candles especially. Find a better packaing for soaps..something more upscale looking like a box with see through lid I think that is enough to keep me busy at lest until summer.
