  1. ...just a heads up incase anyone is interested. BHG has a several page article on Bathing and the benefits of it in the December issue. They talk about salts, milk bath, bath bombs, etc. water temperature etc etc. Good article!
  2. It is common sense ...but I guess there actually are people who don't have it. There is alot of awareness about candle buring and fire hazards associated with it...I have seen tons of news articles in the paper, magaiznes, there have been recall after recall on candles. Even on TV they have had specials. Maybe I just notice them because I am in the business but you would think with all the house fires people would think about what they are doing. I don't get it....I guess it will take someone destroying their belongings and possibly hurting themselves or someone else before they get it. Just thought I would bring it up so everyone is really pushing the safe way to burn candles.
  3. I have not posted on here in ages...but when I was taking my kids trick-or-treating on Halloween my hubby and I were in shock of something we saw. We went to a house and just stared at the windows...you know the part where it opens ...and the latch is ...with very nice flowly drapes hanging... ....there were pillar candle(s)...meaning more than one in more than one window sitting on that ledge BURNING! I cannot believe that an open flame would be that close to fabric...but I guess some people are just that dumb!...I guess we should 'tell' our customers and put the labels on them....to not have open flame near ANYTHING. Just thought you all might want to know what people do with our stuff when they take them home....Thank GOD it was not one of mine!
  4. I don't think it would do bad at all. Others have tried different types of powdered milk...goat's milk etc. and it worked great. I believe there were other threads on this as well. When I posted the recipe originally there were lots of ad on's to it and then other threads regarding it to follow...do a search...someone may have posted about soy milk.
  5. It softens your skin...the corstarch makes the water and your skin feel very very silky. It is wonderful if you just need to unwind and take a soak. Milk is very good for you ..inside and out! Careful on the cocoa powder as it is hard to wash from the tub if you add too much. Kinda make it look like you are taking a mud bath... I have made and used the chocolate one with cocoa powder as well adding fudge FO...but I added to much in the begining and lets just say EEWWW!
  6. Thanks all! I think I will give it a whirl.. I do the chocolate milk bath already so I want to add some soap and body butter.
  7. ..so I have had my booth since the begining of sept..doing ok..this month has been slow for everyone there for some reason..hopefully it picks up next week. but I though I would share some of my results of sales..and how things are going..etc etc. first is weird..everyone I have talked to, the pole on my site and my own personal preference says that sugar scrub is better over salts scurb..weird because I have not sold one single sugar scrub ..but have sold out of several scents of salt scrubs a few times now. ???? :undecided I was told when I opened my booth that candles will not do well..so I pumped up my b&b instead of my candle line..well I am selling more candles than b&b..HA!..I am actually making more candles now than ever..and melts.. I carry clamshells/star melts/2oz filled votive holder/8oz jjs and 16oz jjs I have not sold one single clamshell..toooonnnnnns of star melts and a few 2oz/no 16oz but a crap load of 8oz jjs ...so we decided to nix the 2oz in all but our b&b scents and only do them for special 'favor' orders in the others. I am really having a good time at my booth..decorating it for the seasons..I wish I had time to post more pics for you all but between working 40 hours a week at my regular job..weekends at the booth and my family..time is tight..so I just pop in once in a while to say hey..and look up info as needed. Keeping the booth stocked is not so easy either..sometimes I come home and work on stuff until I go to bed.. hope we have a great holiday season and it is well worth it. Website maintenance is not so great either..I need to do product and pic updates for wholesale accounts that have inquired recently..but where I will find the time I have no idea. Hope you all are having fun and a profitable year..maybe I will check back soon and try to post my booth all dressed up for the holidays. Me and the kids are glittering some dough ornaments tonight for the booth and to decorate my trees. Sooo if any of you are thinking of starting a booth in craft mall or opening a store..it is ALOT of hard work..fun but exhausting.
  8. Have you all had any luck selling chocolate scented b&b stuff.. I was thinking of throwing some together for the holidays but not sure how it would go over.
  9. I use the black ones from wsp...they are dirt cheap like $4.50 for 100. I give one free with every milk bath/salts/scrub
  10. Thanks all! I like the burnt orange idea..think I will try that
  11. do you all make your caramel apple? I have wayyyyyy to many browns in my line..I think 6 in different shades so I need another option..I think orange would be to bright? :undecided
  12. I just finally poured the sample of Maple & Brown sugar sample I got in my last order from Peaks..I made my star melts out of it since those are selling like crazy in my booth and I must say the throw on this on in parasoy is awsome!!!!!!!! I had them in my car on Saturday and I can still smell it when I open the door and they were only in there for 20 minutes. Cant wait to put them in a candle..darn I wish this one was body safe. I would love to know what everyone else thinks of it...and how it sells for you all.
  13. Blueberry Blast from Keystone It is very blueberry
  14. 2x4 avery label then I cut the end off each end so it is square rather than rounded edges..plus that way it fits on the front of the package. I tried the biz card insert type label..but Christmas Tree FO ate right through the paper.
  15. Keystone has a great sugar cookie..I used it in plain 415 and now parasoy..both worked great at 1.5oz per #
  16. ...is this a women's scent..man's scent..both????? I made some MP soap in it today..and I really like it but thought it also had a masculine smell to it as well. was also wondering how you all do with it in B&B..is it a good seller.. I am only using it in soap right now...but was thinking of adding it to my line down the road if the soap does well. oh and on a side note..Wilton colors do not go well with white wash cloths..thought I would try them out and see how they did in MP soap..and I used a bit of red in my Dragons Blood soap..so I could get red soap..which came out very dark coral??? ...and well now my white wash cloth is stained pink..guess I am going to smell like Dragons blood for a while
  17. yeah me to..I just got a meatballer for smaller ones and I have yet to use it..I am afraid I wont be able to get them out of the mold either.
  18. Shugard Musk Sweet Musk Sweet Sugar Musk I can't call mine anything else either..smells like pink cotton candy with a hint of musk to it.
  19. Ummm..I dont think I would want to sit in that..ewww..would feel kinda nasty..If it is good for your skin ..then great..but I would rather have someone rub mud on me in a salon/spa than sit in what would feel like jello...would it still be warm like the water or will it go cold since it is jelling up? :undecided $24 a pop... :laugh2: little to much for me to spend on a bath..and I know no one around here would go for it. Bet a big city they would go well though.
  20. Chocolate/Mint Chocolate/Cherry Make candle white scented chocolate..for White chocolate
  21. I am in a Market place..kinda a craft mall..i have a 10x10 space and I am there every sat/sunday..those are the only two days they are open..9-5..tons of vendors..but the place is wonderful..they did like $2,000,000 in renovations on the place so i guess it depends on what is in there and how it is ran. Does not hurt to check it out and see how it is ran..I man my space every hour they are open I ring my own sales and everything..it is kinda like my own little store in their store.
  22. First how much is too much? Bath salts to me always smell strong even when they are scented just right..more than other b&b stuff I make..so what is your idea of too much? If you did indeed add way to much yep..what they said..add more..if you don't want a ton of the same scent..maybe you could blend some scents as well.
