  1. I don't think I've ever added more than .5 oz pp with m&p. As far as glycerin, I really don't see the point of adding any.
  2. Do you use a sb, hand mixer, whisk, or something else to do the mixing? I normally use a stand mixer when I'm doing whipped body butter, but that isn't practical at all for a tiny experimental batch.
  3. That's a good looking batch of soap and a really pretty daughter!
  4. I've found them great about calling me if I send an email question. I know of one time in particular I was uncertain of which preservative to use in a formulation and emailed. John called me within a few minutes to discuss my recipe ingredients and options. I really appreciate help like that!
  5. A lot of people use beeswax. I use a combination of jojoba and candelila waxes.
  6. I voted cream because even though I enjoy the oil scrubs, the mess I get in the bath tub is just too much for me.
  7. Yep, I was thinking Tradewinds, too, cause I couldn't recall any complaints about Tri-State.
  8. I've never tried any oils from Starrville, so I might as well give it a try! Thanks. I'm pm you my address so you can let me know the shipping amount to send. My searching def came up with a lot of recs for Flickers, but I've looked at their site several times over the last few months, and it'a always oos.
  9. I did a search and found a couple of old threads but decided to start a new one with a couple of new questions. I am looking for a Brown Sugar & Fig for both candles (paraffin) and cp soap and other b&b. I bought some a couple of years ago on the classies that I believe was from Carolina Candle that is now out of business. I still have a bar of soap done in that fo that is holding the scent after more than a year. I seem to recall reading that Tri-State and CC were related and carried the same oils. I also notice that on the SRB there are only 2 fo from Tri-State reviewed. Does anyone have recommendations?
  10. I use them for several things here and there. They're in my state, but I just don't have a chance to get there to pick up and save on the shipping. I was desperate for a lb of kokum last week, and the shipping (with the additional handling charge and state sales tax) was higher than the kokum. I've always been happy with the cs and have never had a problem with communication. The only thing I didn't like from there was a lip balm base a couple of years ago. It sucked big time. No matter what I did to it wouldn't make it decent.
  11. I am happy with Designer218, but I have to admit that his low price is tempting. I don't have a problem with his age at all and see him as a responsible and aggressive businessman. However, when I gave thoughts to switching it was with the understanding that he is the full owner. If he has a partner, I would want to know who that partner is. There are certain cyber people that I would never want to have business dealings with ever again after being ripped off.
  12. Not sure if this belongs here, but . . . I am always test burning candles all over the house but don't feel comfortable leaving a candle in the downstairs rooms over here at the beach house. The rooms have outside entrances, and I wanted to try to spruce them up a little. After looking at a ton of electric and battery operated candles, I bought one from Chauna from this forum and absolutely love it!! It's just perfect for the room I got it for, and now I don't have to worry about a real flame. I hope she doesn't mind, but I got this one http://www.countryheartwarmingexpressions.com/catalog.php?item=33&catid=3&ret=catalog.php%3Fcategory%3D3 I had her scent it in Apple Jack & Peel in a dark red color. Thanks, Chauna, for such an awesome candle! I'm just tickled to death with it! :highfive:
  13. Thanks for posting that, Georgia. Ever since she started this thread I have been trying to remember where I got mine. I was very happy with their service and product and also got a couple of tee shirts done at the same time.
  14. It's lovely, and it will be a nice addition to the event!
  15. There is a feedback feature for buyers and sellers to report on, but sometimes folks don't always use it. Like any classified ad, you can get some really good stuff or some crap. Personally, I've had pretty good experiences here, but there are a few folks that sell really old fo and ingredients.
  16. They are all so lovely that it would be hard to pick a fave. But, that 4th one on the slideshow just knocks me out. The pic is good, but I'm sure it doesn't come close to how stunning it must look up close and personal.
  17. 1 oz pp with 4625, and I'm pleased with this one.
  18. After soaping several cucumber melons that were just "ok," I soaped the one from supplies4candles that I bought mainly for candles. Wow! I rarely see anything about this supplier, but this is definitely a keeper for me. It behaved beautifully in cp, and the scent is just as refreshing in this soap 3 months later as it was in the mold. Another one from there that I put in soap is Apple Jack & Peel. It's a keeper, too. It's great in both cp and wax.
  19. They probably have them here at the Piggly Wiggly like they always do. I've got a couple of "friends" that always have to report to me about the great deals they see at the flea market, etc, and why are my candles so much higher. I just listen each year to them and ignore. Weren't those $1 grocery store candles recalled either last year or the year before?
  20. I enjoyed them all, but the first 2 are my favorites. You make some beautiful and unique candles!
  21. I use the doright molds and never had a problem with warping, etc, until the last 2 that I bought. I got those off the classies here, and they were so warped that they were not usable until additional holes were drilled in them for more screws. I do not put mine in the dishwasher and try to put them right back together after using them. I prefer the 2 lb ones. That one that says 3 lbs with that extra bottom has always baffled me. Those are the ones that I have trouble with.
  22. Aroma Haven also has a good one. Don't have my notes here, but I'm almost certain that I used it in 6006 at one time. I know that I used it in 100% a few years back and found it a strong thrower.
