  1. Yup, stay away from the butters and lotions for now. It will hold in the heat. Did you water down the vinegar? I had no stinging with the vinegar, and it really did help. Maybe do a 30/70 mix or something. You can do cold compresses, that will keep the heat down. Poor thing....hope he feels better soon. Sunburn sucks, and it sure teaches a painful lesson. I had a really bad burn in June, so I know how he feels!
  2. I diluted white vinegar with water (50/50), and put it in a spray bottle. I used that when I was sunburned, and it made me feel a lot better. I just kept spraying it on whenever I wanted to. After a few days, I switched to spray on aloe gel I put in the fridge...now THAT felt so good on my skin!!!
  3. I have about 150 votives to make for my sister's wedding. Then, a batch of tarts for a girl I work with. And then the tarts for the fall scent swap. Busy busy!!
  4. I uses IGI 4794. No additives. Good throw, and easy to get out of molds.
  5. I use the 3x3. I make the fluted ones and the mini muffin ones. When they are in the bag, they are snug where they don't move too much. I think the smaller bag will be too tight.
  6. I used to live in Clearwater by the airport. I always thought that if I moved back, I would not have a local place to buy from!
  7. I have a wedding shower on Sunday, and I just finished making all the favors. Melts in Sage and Citrus and J&J Bedtime from thecandlesource. Smells so good!! Now, I have to get cracking on the votives for the wedding favors!
  8. Well, I am tempted to buy a few and see how it goes. I heard to use a vegetable peeler on the block. Thanks anyways
  9. I was thinking about trying their dye blocks. Did you like them??
  10. Those look awesome. I wish I could smell them thru my laptop
  11. That is gorgeous!! I bet it smells awesome!
  12. I don't do a 2nd pour. I like them a little wavy
  13. Nope, comes in slabs you get to whack with a hammer.
  14. I use 4794. It is easy to use. The tops can be a tiny bit wavy, but I like them that way, and it makes them look handmade. They release easily from molds. I just like the wax I guess
  15. I would have answered you, but I don't use soy. I used it in 4794 and liked it, although it was not a dead on pear. Kind of had a green apple background to it.
  16. I recently did some for a wedding. I packaged in a polypro bag, used fancy ribbon, and added a card about their use. I also made sure to include the were not edible. You never know what people will do with them if they don't know what it is. I approved everything with the bride and groom, but told them there would be a warning attatched. They understood and it worked out wonderfully
  17. I really only make tarts (and a few votives). I actually use it as a release at the end of a long day. And, it keeps my hands busy, which keeps me from snacking late at night. I sell some tarts at work, and it just helps me buy more FO
  18. Walmart is cheap. I think mine was $25. Found it in the paint department.
  19. Last night I was testing some Candle Source scents. I had Relaxation tarts going in the kitchen and Bartlett Pear tarts in the living room. Love me some bartlett pear
  20. I use the shoebox sized ones wit the #5 on the bottom. They are not too big, and not too small and you can fit a lot in there. And, they can be pretty cheap.
  21. Congrats! I am doing wedding shower favors and wedding favors for my sister's upcoming wedding. I am SO excited!!
