  1. I test burn mine the same way I burned candles all my life. I just light it and let it go. Before I knew I wasn't supposed to that the way I burned them. I'd light one and it would burn until I went to bed or left the house. Now I test burn mine for a good eight hours straight.
  2. I bought some crates and displays from Sugar Creek and love them and their customer service! Very nice people. http://www.sugarcreekcrates.com/
  3. I had a supplier who took three weeks to get me a bottle of fo. I griped but thought maybe it was just an unusual thing. Then she had a prebuy. I ordered and almost three months later I asked when I was going to get my fo. She said there was a problem and it as soon as her supplier got the new batch to her she would get it right out. Nice of her to let her customers know. I asked for a refund and I will not order from her again. Ever. She too has nice oils but you know what? Someone always has nice oils and some of them even understand how to be a good supplier.
  4. Sandalwood Vanilla (Bramble Berry) Lavender Vanilla (my blend) Victoria Secret dupes( http://www.soapsupplies.net/fragrance1.html ) Jovan Musk (A Garden Eastward) Sunflower (Peak) Goddess (Old Mill) Sweet Scarlett (Old Mill) Natures Garden has a lot of designer dupes. Old Mill
  5. Old Mills Christmas Cabin is wonderful! It smells like Geoffrey Beene's Grey Flannel. They say it better than I ever could: Description: A wonderful fresh aromatic blend of lavender, spruce & cedar enhanced by a citrus bouquet of lemon lime with a dry down of patchouli, sandalwood and oak moss. Change the name of this fragrance and use it all year round.
  6. I like to add the crystals to some lavender eo and leave them. They dissolve in the eo and are ready to use.
  7. Boy do I live a sheltered life! I opened that thread and saw the jar and thought well bless her heart. She has given us a thread about those cookies in a jar gifts people give at Christmas. Imagine my shock when it sunk in that was a freaking candle!
  8. I wanna make them too! They just look so country yum! There must be instructions somewhere?
  9. Not all malibus are the same shape and size.
  10. It sounds like these are your first bars. I wouldn't charge anything until you have the soapmaking thing down. Share these first several batches with family and friends. Soapmakers sell by the bar.
  11. When I wick the jar I straighten the wick before I stick it. Then all I do is slip it into the centering tool. I don't tug at all. For centering I use the Bow Ties for my larger jars and these for my 8oz masons: http://www.buywax.com/product.asp?specific=jrrrdqd8
  12. Unless you are just trying to get rid of some hydrolyzed silk amino acid I would never use it in soap. It's way too expensive an ingredient for soap. Scent Works has bags of tussah silk fiber that is a cheapo ingredient. A 4oz bag will last you forever!
  13. I'm not sure you can do the sample pack with the Vaniglia del Madagascar because it is a fast buy. I could be wrong though.
  14. I smelled soap made with the Ananas Melon and it is yum too! Very strong scent! I am in love with Sweet Scarlett too!
  15. I like to really scrub my skin. To feel like I've done something. Like I'm really clean and polished. I can't get that with sugar. I can't get that with regular table salt. I get the coarse sea salt. Stings once in a while but so worth it. For me sugar is like using a rough washcloth. I do think there are some customers who like the softer scrubs.
  16. I use it in every batch too. I add a nice size ball of it to the water before I add the lye. I love the feel of the lather with silk in it.
  17. I've smelled the vaniglia she is buying and it is like the rest of her fo's...nice and strong. http://www.oldmillfragrances.com/n-zscents.html
  18. Old Mill has a buy going on for Vaniglia del Madagascar right now. It is a nice deep scent.
  19. She's doing a buy on Vaniglia del Madagascar on her site right now. It's $14.50 a pound.
