  1. Salt bars are said to help with skin problems, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis. I've never made salt bars and was also doing a search for recipes. I had no idea co & salt is all there is to it.
  2. Yes, a water discount is using less water than called for so that the soap will cure/harden faster. Some people always discount their water. Some people never do. I'm one of the never do's, because I'm not sure enough of my soap making abilities to change the percentages that soapcalc gives. And I definitely wouldn't try a water discount on a recipe with milk in it.
  3. My fav is Greenleaf's Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.
  4. I loved the whipped body butter GL had, too. They are reformulating because they lost their supplier. It was not because of any problems with the product. I believe they are close to coming out with their new formula. They are trying to make it as close to the old one as possible or better.
  5. I think your staging and photographic abilities are just perfect, chele. The satin background is draped perfectly and the flower arrangement adds to the elegance. You don't have so many candles that it looks cluttered. I wouldn't change a thing. It looks wonderful.
  6. My very first purchases from DS after sniffing every sample she had at a convention last year was Mimosa Breeze and Pink Sugar. My newest fav is Paradise. Oh, my God, it smells SOOOO delish.
  7. Do a search on Google or ebay to get ideas for the blanket. My kids had one when they were kids and they loved it. Theirs had pockets that you could put things in and and big push button that sounded like a horn and toys & teethers sewn on, so when I went somewhere I didn't have to take a bagful of activities, just the blanket. A very entertaining and educational blanket.
  8. These are ALL great, Jo! Do tell how you get the waves so perfect and how you get the embeds to not be partially or totally covered/melted by the main wax.
  9. Thanks, Suzanne! I certainly hope this link stays since it's obvious SO many of us really NEED this info. Shrink wrapping is one of those things that are easier said than done. I went to a convention that had a shrink demo & I thought it was something any simpleton could do, so I spent most of the time outside smoking. Now that I've 'tried' shrink wrapping I could just kick my a** for not paying attention during the demo. :embarasse
  10. Too cool! Looks like stained glass.
  11. The Indonesian Teak and Mambo both give me strong cold & hold throws and they are wonderful! I also use Mambo in soap & body sprays. A sexy masculine scent that both men & women both like. Polynesian Black Ginger is extremely strong and I personally don't care for the scent. (perhaps it just seems strong because I don't like it?) Masterbaker is right about the Antahala Vanilla - you've GOT to get it. The name is misleading, it's not merely a vanilla with a twist, it's a great designer fo. Good in wax & B&B. I use a 70% soy blend from GL & have found very few GL fo's that do not throw well in it. And their customer service is the best.
  12. I guess one of those boxes was mine (yea! more candle molds!). I hope it was one of the first easy ones. I didn't even think about the Christmas rush shipping at this time of year. Thanks for having the patience to wait in the long line. :highfive: I should have it tomorrow or Monday if it didn't come in today.
  13. Great, Bunny! Very easy to navigate (why can't our suppliers manage that?!), informative, good clear product pics. If you did this all yourself, you did an excellent job!
  14. You only have to use the TM or name followed by the word 'type' if it's a manufacturer's trademarked name, NOT if it's a supplier's fo name. If that were the case, every name would have to be TM'd. Suppliers sell their fo's expecting you to use the name.
  15. I use GL 70/30 wax in this size jar and have had GREAT burns with 2-CD6's and one 60-44-18z. Both burns were totally clean - no hangup at all, no soot, jars not too hot to touch. The zinc mushrooms a bit, but not too bad, plus it's the only wick I've found that I can single wick this candle with and end up with a clean jar.
