  1. You must buy the Sandalwood Rose, You must buy the Sandalwood Rose.... Bwahahahaha......
  2. Sharon I don't usually drop my usage rate. When I make soap it just depends. I did have some that I thought were way too loud so I did cut back.
  3. The Sandalwood Rose I believe may have been a "type". The thing is I have never smelled the original so I can't help you with any comparison. I does not smell like rose at all to my pitiful nose. For sure if I had been handed the bottle or my soap and asked to describe it I never would have said rose was in it. I don't really care much for rose or sandalwood yet I am in love with this one! I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
  4. Jen has all of her fo's back in. You guys really need to check out the Sandalwood Rose! I soaped it and it is wonderful! No A or D. I can hardly wait to get this one in wax. I have high hopes because I would love to be able to have the scent in everything I make. Truely. Here is her description of the scent:Asian Sandalwood combined with sweet Roses and wild Jasmine on a soothing background of exotic Musk. A wonderful balance of these fragrances, each complimenting the other. http://www.oldmillfragrances.com/n-zscents.html I really, really like it a lot! Amazing because in general I don't care much for rose or sandalwood. They rock in this fo though!
  5. I use IGI 4786. Not soy. Really no trouble if you'd like to smell it. It is a strong thrower hot and cold. I guess the main thing is liking what it throws. lol
  6. Sharon I wouldn't call it a straight honey. It throws like crazy though. I'd be happy to send you a sniffie.
  7. In my humble opinion the name is the problem. Try using a more up to date drink name and see if that helps. Even if it doesn't match the real thing...like: The Grinch Noel's Nooner Christmas Cheer Dog Sled Grandma's Tipsy Nog
  8. I agree. I like the scnet but it is very light. I had people tell me they couldn't smell it at all in lotion. Not worth the money in my opinion. Mine was from Soap Silly.
  9. Old Mill will have her stock back up in no time. She just took on some new partners so she had to let a few things get down. She is adding some great things too. One of them is going to be a sandalwood rose that is wonderful!
  10. lol! Glad you are gonna get to try some! Course I just tried Peaks and At Wix End for the first time so I can't talk.
  11. Natures Garden has a good selection and good prices if you are just starting out. Old Mill has some wonderful strong fo's!
  12. Wow. You have never used either company before? How do you compare scents? I mean those two suppliers...especially BC that I cannot imagine not having tried them. I tend to compare other scents to theirs.
  13. I think they are here: http://candlessoapsandstuff.com/cwarmers.shtml
  14. I just tested the Banana Nut Bread and it was good. I am in love with the Black Canyon but I haven't tried it in wax yet but I have high hopes. Big yum!
  15. Jenn seems to spend the extra time and go that extra distance to test and tweak everything before she ever offers them for sale. I am so impressed.
  16. I just cp soaped Peaks Black Canyon. It is nearly identical to BNL Peppercorn. I like it better. Everybody is loving it! It does discolor though.
  17. I was just so stunned. I use IGI 4786 container wax. I had even considered trying to branch out and try some other candles but now I think I need to just wait. I can't afford many mistakes at this price. The only thing I can think is to raise my price a bit right now. I agree Cindy that people are going to just order/buy less. I was already worried a bit about the festivals this fall. Now I really worry. I thought this might have been talked about and that I had just missed the thread. You should have seen my face when I saw the price today!
  18. I couldn't get over the $20 jump in the price of the wax I use! Have you looked lately?
  19. I emailed her about her instructions but she never answered back.
  20. The only thing I can add here is I think there is a misconception about testing a fragrance for someone. A one ounce bottle of fo is nothing to go crazy over. When I test I have to pare down my usual recipe to a size small enough to test. I actually went out and bought 2" pvc pipe to pour those little batches into. I doubt anyone who is testing for a company is doing it for that reason. Also when I test I have to take the temps of my oils and water. Note all of that along with the discount I took with the water. All in all kinda almost a pita. kwim? Oh sure some may feel special to be asked and then those people might not give an honest answer about....what? How fast it traced? I mean anything else is gonna be obvious in the soap bar I give back to the supplier. I can look at a bar and tell if it riced. Let alone if it seized. Discoloration is going to show up too. No what bothers me is the suppliers who race to buy an fo because there is chatter about it on the boards and they offer it for sale before they bother to test it at all.
