  1. I was searching for XMas mugs for my hot cocoa candles and came across these color-changing mugs: http://www.niftycoolgifts.com/color-changing-mugs/ Do you think these would actually change color as the candle burns down or wouldn't the mug get hot enough? Thought it'd be a cool idea.
  2. If so, could you PM me please? Want to check on the price of an item. Thanks!
  3. I plan on buying some of these boxes: http://creeksidesoaps.com/supplies/boxes.htm Good for storage and transportion.
  4. I use NG's and it's a best seller year-round.
  5. Must be boys age 11-15. My son is 14 and practically marinates himself in the stuff. Gonna have to try some of these FO's.
  6. You could fill votive glasses with white wax and paint black cow spots on the glass.
  7. IGI 1260 here too with some luster crystals added to make them more opaque.
  8. If I remember correctly, it's in the area with the mod podge and paper mache. Been a while since I've been in Michael's. I think WalMart has it too.
  9. I buy the diamond dust from Michael's or AC Moore. It burns fine. The wax has a bit of a lumpy texture after it cools after burning, but other from that, no problems.
  10. I use Diamond Dust glitter. Just paint mod podge on the candle and sprinkle with the glitter. Here's a pic of some I did a few years ago:
  11. Lindsay-- There is a small dimple where I poured, but I just level it with a knife and they stand up pretty well. Branda--They are about 1.25 in diameter. I packaged them in cello with a curling ribbon. Thanks for the compliments!
  12. I actually hand painted the laces on with acrylic paint. Took FOREVER but the effect is cool.
  13. Made these for a friend. Her daughters are giving them as gifts to the opposing teams in their tournament. Put 4 to a package.
  14. Spiced Cranberry Gingerbread Pumpkin Pie Christmas Splendor All best sellers for me.
  15. I remember reading a post from someone saying they shipped candles packed in Soil Moist or Watersorb crystals. I can see where that would work. I make neck coolers for my daughter made with Soil Loist and they stay cool for quite some time. Might be worth a try.
  16. I also gave up on those cases and use the 1.5 oz hex jars. I think they look more professional anyway.
  17. I'm starting to pour my top selling Fall & XMas scents now because if I get it done now, I don't have as much work to do when I go back to work in September! I haven't tried anything new yet but I'm dropping some items that didn't sell too well last year. Making the most of my time while I have it.
  18. It's not my daughter's team I'd be doing the fundraising for. It's one of the travel teams. They need the $$ to pay for tournaments. After I hear back from her coach I'll probably make my decision. Thanks for the input!
  19. The guy who wants me to do the fundraiser for his team was the one who worked quickly to get the shirts fixed and he said the website thing was his fault. Says he had no idea that my business was left off. He wants to do the fundraiser whether I sponsor or not. The fundraiser he did last year was supposedly a friend of the team mom. Whether that's true or not, I don't know. It's hard to say if I'm being manipulated. I'm waiting to hear back from the coach because he's pretty friendly with this guy and would know if he's the type to do this just to get sponsors. I just don't want to give up an opportunity to get more business and fundraisers. Maybe I'll ask him to cut the sponsor fee in half for my troubles
  20. Last year I sponsored my daughter's soccer team. I asked to sponsor a certain coach because we really liked how he handled the girls so I thought besides supporting the league, I'd also support him as a coach. Well, the league was under the assumption that I was only sponsoring to get my daughter on the team and gave me a major hard time. Finally they relented. That was problem #1. Here's #2....we get the uniforms and my business name was spelled wrong. So if anyone went on the internet to find me, they wouldn't. The league said it was their mistake and had the shirts reprinted and let the girls keep the others for practice shirts. Well, they pretty much wore whatever shirt was clean at the time so they were always displaying two different business names. Problem #3...all sponsors are supposed to be listed on the league website. Mine was somehow left off. When it came time for the banquet, the program always has the sponsors listed. Once again, the name was spelled wrong. So here's my dilemma....the league wants me to do a fundraiser for one, possibly two of their travel teams because they "support their sponsors". I don't have a problem with doing a fundraiser but they want me to sponsor a team again, swearing up and down that none of those problems would happen again. I'm of course very leery of it, but I'm wondering if I DO sponsor and do these fundraisers, will I have a better chance of getting more business down the line because of sponsoring?? I'm torn as to what to do. Opinions?? Thanks!
  21. I use a compound miter saw and slice about 1/8-1/4 inch off the bottom and it's perfectly level. Never could get a level pillar with the griddle. I'm just lucky enough to be married to a mechanic that's obsessed with power tools!
  22. These are the hex jars I got.... http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Other+Jars&product%5Fid=HEX%2D1%2E5 I like the look of them besides the fact that the keep the scent well. I just put a 1-1/4 inch label on the lid with the scent name and carry them in a padded briefcase. You could probably carry them in a tackle box too. Trae
