  1. I have been making and selling some nicely scented M&P with additives. My biggest seller has been Coconut, and Amazing Grace. I wnat wto hadd some new fragrances. I would really appreciate some suggestions on some clean fragrances that would appeal to men, women, or a neutral one that both would like. I love the smell of Keri lotion, Caress soap... I would love to get a fragrance oil that smelled like them! I appreciate any and all suggestions.. hopefully this is posted in the correct forum.. thanks!
  2. If you want a bar you cut without the edge, try using a drawer organizer..like the ones Rubbermaid makes. They work perfectly
  3. okay.. I am down in So. California with the rest of you guys and I have been getting a lot of my oils from Save on Scents. I am buying $100 at a time, and the shipping is free. Let me know what fragrances you are looking for .. I have a ton of them.. super strong.. I buy my wax from Peaks and Lone Star.. I love Golden Brand soy waxes.. you can call Jason and he will hook you up with a good supplier with the best shipping prices. HTH Teri
  4. Thanks for piping up Donna! I have ordered samples from a few companies, and I am sold on this company.. My only regret is that I did not learn about them earlier! I have yet to find people that were nicer to deal with!
  5. I just wanted to tell everyone about www.printmythings.com !! I received the very best customer service from them and my labels were very cost effective for the size of order I needed. They make various sizes and types of labels, hangtags and many other products.. check them out and make sure to ask for some samples! The prices really go down the more you order. Teri
  6. I am thinking they are meaning the same thing.. possibly one is finer in consistancy than the other? Apricot "seeds" are just one big pit. I use ground apricot seed in M&P.. only 1/4 tsp per 2 pound batch.
  7. Well Luci, I sent you a little sniffie sample of the Amazing Grace.. that's the one that I put in my SFIC goats milk recipe.. Let me know if you want to take 5 pounds of my already paid for goats milk in the coop.. I am willing to share. Teri
  8. The lady I bought from on ebay lists instructions with her soap.. not sure if it is the same lady. I may be able to give up some of my goats milk if you get left out. I love this stuff.. I have been selling my "recipe" by the pound to a bunch of firefighters.. they like this soap when I scent it with Coconout fo. Let me know if you want the recipe.. This is what I use with my Amazing Grace... it is wonderful!
  9. Hey Luci.. I was the brat who suggested the seller on ebay. I have been rebatching this soap, but have only been adding 4 tbs. of water per pound. I have not had any problems with this soap drying at all. I think I dried it out for a week. If you are looking for Goats milk m&p, I know a great seller on Ebay... :lipsrseal .. just kidding.. however, I would really suggest getting in on the SFIC coop and buying theirs.. it is the BOMB!! I have a recipe that I add some things to it and it is the best soap ever.. Let me know if you want to try it.. you would love the super creamy rich lather.. Sorry you are having a tough time with your CP.. !
  10. I have both sold and made both types of candles for several years. I have yet to find a 100% soy candle that could touch a parrafin one. If you ever decide to mix your own custom blend, or if you have ever made candles with IGI's Comfort blend, you would understand why I am making that statement. I will say that I have found that soy does burn clean, but so can a properly wicked candle with appropriate fragrance loads. This is just my opinion as well. I have not found a 100% soy wax that could match the fragrance load of some of the superior parrafin waxes available. Now, all this being said..I have finally settled on my own custom blend of both waxes because I like the best of both worlds. I love qualities in both waxes, but I have found in my extensive testing that they both have positive and negative qualities. It all boils down to what you love/dislike and are willing to tolerate from both types of wax. This is only my very humble opinion.
  11. Don't forget www.wisterialane.com they always have a special each week and one on sale every month.. they also sell the liquid bases. Teri
  12. Personally, with either J50 or J223 you can't go wrong!
  13. Okay.. I am in no way shape or form in any of the above posters league, but.. I sell the heck out SFIC Goats Milk M&P with Avocado oil added. I sell it to men by the pound. They LOVE it scented with Coconut fragrance oil. It is also fabulous with Amazing Grace as well. It is a fabulous rich and creamy soap!
  14. I currently pour my candle samples in 1 ounce tins. My lids are not see through, but I bought mine from SKS bottles. These are nice and light weight for easy transportation. I am sure there are other places that sell them with the see through tops as well. HTH.
  15. Making your own labels.. using stamps instead of labels.. I mentioned this for my bags.. it does save the costs of buying or printing out labels.. just a thought.. I know you don't want to make things look cheap.. a classy custom stamp can really jazz your bags up with a nice ink pad..
  16. I can definitley relate.. I have spent THOUSANDS on testing.. the way it should be if you are trying to make a product that is both safe and good! I was warned... and they were all RIGHT ON! Funny how experience works that way.. I am now happy with the candles that I make and I scour this and other forums for good ideas that will make my candles better. I am finally confident in all aspects of my candles.. it took a long time to get here, but all the work was worth it.. Nothing like smelling my own candles.. and looking at them burn perfectly! Thanks God for the men and woman who have shared their failures and triumphs here for all of us to learn from. Enjoy your candlemaking! If you get burned out.. take some time off until you can re-ignite the bug to make some more.. I found this to be very important.. especially when trying to find the right wick(s). Your family and friends are sure to enjoy and appreciate them! Good Luck!
  17. I have to agree... the bag you listed is fine for small purchases.. print your own labels and put them on it. I like U-line prices for all other bags. I have my white bags stamped with my logo. I looks great and you can use gold, or whatever color you like.. and change it up when you want a new look.. some inexpensive stamp makers on ebay.. you can use a nice teal stamp on white bags or a rainbow stamp ... would match great with your smaller bags..
  18. I love your label as well... very pretty.. I would only slightly adjust the letters so it stands out and does not blend in with the flower.. I hope this makes sense.. my labels were the same way.. I had to move my lettering around so the words "popped" out at you and did not blend in with the graphic. Great job!!
  19. Yes!!!!!!!!! I had one of my favorites duped by Gold Canyon.. called Days of Christmas.. I had it renamed Noel.. it is a mac apple, pear, and cinnamon combo.. it smells amazing! I love Alabasters Mulled Cider, At Wix End Apple Peel, Majestic Mountain Sage Pumpkin Spice, NG Country Christmas.. and my own special blend for Sugar Cookie.. Yummm!
  20. I double checked on the comparison... they both seem strong to me. The difference I did note was the smell when they dried. They were both a little different... however.. both smell great! I have been using SW in my M&P and lotion.. they both smell great..and, my skin smells great as well.. just pm me if interested. I will ship in whatever method is legal.
  21. That is kind of weird... I put them both side by side just to make sure.... SW still seems stronger to me.. I will give my nose a break and recheck in the morning.. I have no problem sending in an ounce (even though it would kill me to part with) to make sure that I am getting the best one..
  22. Thanks for the heads up! I think we are okay because the flashpoint is above 200 degrees, but I will double check..
  23. I am not sure if this should be put here or in the co-op section. I have finally found a dupe of Amazing Grace by Philosophy that is comparable to Scent Works. I recently purchased a pound of AG from Sweet Cakes, Scent Works, and Save on Scents. I compared all of them and Scent Works was the winner in strength. They all smelled great, but I want the strongest one I can get that is cheaper than $36-$38 per pound. I am able to get it for about $24 including shipping to me per pound. Possibly cheaper if shipping is even less. I won't know until I have an idea of how much I will order. I would put all oils in a flat rate box to ship the cheapest way possible. If anyone is interested in this oil, please pm me with the amount. I will keep everyone posted on the actual cost once I know how much I will be ordering. I apologize if this is the wrong forum. Please move to the Co-op forum if need be. Teri
  24. Hey Scott.. I am here in California as well. Try www.letitshineusa.com they are are the only IGI West Coast supplier that is located in Washington, but they also have a warehouse in Sacramento.. another one to try is www.genwax.com out of L.A. I am not sure if they have it, but you can check. Hope this helps! Teri
  25. I am with ClassyLady! They have some wonderful scents and I use a lot of them for my paraffin blend. Here are my super throwers ( I too only purchase Ultra Concentrate) Oh yeah.. when you go to check out, make sure you list which free samples you want and MAKE SURE you request the ultra concentrate version because they normally only give the value grade for free samples and you will find them to be too weak for candles. HTH! Island Mango Cotton Blossom Clean Cotton Butterscotch Sun Washed Linen Fresh Comfort Classic Lavender Baby Magic Pineapple Supreme Cucumber Melon Cucumber Cantelope Fresh Cut Roses Downey Clary Sage Walk in the Woods Macintosh Apple Green Apple Cinnamon Pear (my personal favorite pear compared to a ton of samples) Red Hot Cinnamon Citrus Delight Hot Apple Pie Apple Jack and Peel Lemon Zest Teri
