  1. Peach Magnolia Raspberry Grapefruit Hot Fudge Brownie Birthday Cake
  2. Pocha.. sorry .. I don't use 100% soy.. but I can tell you that these oils are very strong.. you might start a new thread with this question.. sorry I can't help! Teri
  3. I LOVE Save on Scents Mac Apple.. in Ultra Concentrate! smells like the real thing!
  4. If you are using them for candles... only buy the Ultra Concentrate! I use several of their oils.. I love them! Definitely buy samples first and read the reviews! Island Mango Pear Mac Apple Clean Cotton Cucumber and Cantaloupe Hydrangea Lavender (classic) Pineapple Walk in the Woods Fresh Cut Roses Lemon Zest Just to name a few! Teri
  5. I tried this wax with many different wicks too. I decided to switch, but I do know that they suggest using the HTP series.. Hopefully this is not one you have tried yet.. HTH. Teri
  6. Yep Fern... I did a search on Tradewinds and ran across your posts on them...what a shame on the Mandarin Bamboo... I looked it up and sure enough.. out of stock! Now you got me curious about that f/o.. I want to try it! I am happy that I did order the herbal ecstacy though.. and about 10 others that I hope are strong! I tried calling them to ask a few questions and I got the same answering machine that everyone else did.. how frustrating! Does not make sense when there really are so many suppliers out there willing to make their customers happy.. Have you tried to get the Mandarin Bamboo duped?
  7. I am using 75% para 25% soy blend.. if I am not mistaken, you may find some of these f/o's on the list for great throwers in soy... which would make sense.. You would not be dissatisfied with any of these strength wise! They almost make you sick smelling oob, they are so strong! HTH! Teri
  8. I just received Island Rain (Gain detergent).. this is knock you off your rocker strong oob. For those of you that have never tried Tradewinds fragrance oils.. WOW! is all I can say.. I bought Neroli Blossom( orange blossom.. SUPER strong oob) Saguaro Cactus.. KICK BUTT!! and Emerald Sea.. also very strong! You could definitely get away with 6% or less... They do not offer sample sizes under 2 ounces so this may prevent many people from ordering from them.. I have just ordered a ton of 2 ounce sample, and I will post on the strength as soon as I receive them.. I have gotten my order within 4 days and I am on west coast... they are in South Carolina.. Have a great day!!! Teri
  9. I have tried Royal Aromatics.... it is called Cinnabon Cinnamon Buns.. It is AWESOME!! It smells just like the real deal.. I would love it if anyone would suggest another company with a similar scent. I only order this one from them and they have a $50 minimum order.
  10. Yep!!! I am happy to report that my candles are knocking my socks off on the first burn!! I am such a dork!! Thanks for everyones input! That is why we call this testing! Teri
  11. I order from www.letitshineusa.com I use IGI waxes and they are great to deal with. They have a wharehouse out of Sacramento. HTH..
  12. Alright.. I hope my foolishness will help someone else! I forgot to mention that I store my oils in the fridge.. Wouldn't that increase the specific gravity of the oil? I have been warming my measuring cup so that this will warm up the oil, but I am thinking it is far from room temp which would cause it to sink in the wax mixture? Just a thought... If this is the case.. no wonder all my candles start to ROCK the more I burn them!!!! What a knucklehead I am!!:rolleyes2 THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I am happy to hear that you have the same mix as I do.. I am new with adding the soy.. I love the soy, so I am willing to do whatever to make this work.. the cleanliness is amazing.. In response to another post.. I am certain that I don't need to wick up. I would have a huge melt pool. I have only wicked up for my spicer scents, and some of the heavier oils. I will say this.. I keep burning one of my candles and it is filling the entire house up with every burn now. Go figure.. I really appreciate everyones help. This has been maddening! I am going to be a bit more methodical with my temps and mix the oil with wax a bit longer before I pour. Maybe I am not letting it bond long enough so that it is thoroughly mixed when I pour. This is the only thing I can think might be the problem.. Eveyone else I know that uses this mix is very happy with it. Thanks bugtussle for your insight. I am close.. I thank everyone for their response! Teri
  14. Yes.. thanks.. The diameter is 3.5 inches across. I added f/o at 180 degrees, and the candles burned for about 1.5 to 2 hours. I have a 1/4 inch burn after 2 hours. I have to stress that all my candles seem to throw much better on following burns. Thanks for answering my post.. I really am trying to figure this one out.. I appreciate the help! Teri
  15. I am using 75% paraffin and 25% soy blend. I use 16 and 26 oz apothecary jars. I am wicking them with (2) 44-32-18 zincs. I use approximately 6-9% f/o depending on the oil. I am waiting a minimum of 48 hours to burn. I only use good suppliers like Peaks, NG, BCS etc. My cold throw kicks butt. My hot throw is the problem on the first burn. Can anyone tell me why my candles smell awesome, but on the first burn they can only be smelled when you are close to them? Subsequent burns give a good to great hot throw. Am I doing something wrong? What do I tell my testers that think I have a weak thrower from the first burn? What can I do to improve the throw on the first burn? Thanks for any suggestions. Teri
  16. I use a hot glue gun with a high temp glue. I have never had one come loose yet. I warm my jars and then glue on wicks just before pouring. HTH
  17. I bought mine on ebay.. 30 bucks for a Milwaukee.. 2 settings.. low and high.. I can smooth out my candle in seconds! Love it
  18. I have to tell you.. you have to try the Pineapple supreme and the yankme dupe Island Mango, and Pear.. OH MY GOSH! they are awesome in the Ultra Concentrate. My testers have also loved the Sunwashed Linen, Downey and Yankme Fresh Cut Roses. These are all very strong! I could go on and on about Save on Scents.. I have only disliked one so far.. it smelled like Mink oil.. and it was Cantaloupe.. yuck.. everything else I have tried is really good and strong. Free shipping once you spend $100..which is a lot, but it sure adds up quick. I really don't know why we don't hear about them more... enjoy!
  19. Oh.. I almost forgot.. I love the mulled cider.. very mac apple kind of cider.. It too was great in wax.. threw like crazy. I would also suggest the grapefruit..it is exactly like you peeled some grapefruit rind and smelled it. I also think the hot fudge brownie is very true.. and I don't like chocolate fragrances.. I do know that everyone seems to love the kudzu.. I have a sample of it and it smells like a very strong grape. Coconut lime verbena is nice and stong too.. Hope this helps get you started.. Teri
  20. So funny you should ask... I am burning it right now at work.. I am a firefighter and the guys I work with really like this one.. It smells wonderful!!! I would love to make some lotion or soap with it... I use a soy/para blend. You would be thrilled with it.. beautiful smell!!
  21. Please post your opinion on these fragrances... I would love to know what you think about the Save on Scents fo's and MMS... I have had great luck with both (ultra concentrate only with Save on Scents).. thanks! Teri
  22. My vote is for Peaks... your hubby would enjoy beautiful Colorado and you could get everything you need while you are there. I would bring what I had on my back and one or two spare sets and fill the rest with oils!! This is what I do when I go to Alaska for vacation... I take the minimum amount of clothing I need, in a carry on bag and then I fill all my "luggage- ice chests" with all the salmon and halibut that I caught while there!!! Much cheaper than shipping home!
  23. I have to agree!!! I would love to know which suppliers provide that kind of information. It would be worth it to try a new supplier..THanks
  24. I have so many people begging for this scent.. any ideas if Twigs and Berries or Pine and Berries is one in the same? Thanks for any help!
