  1. Thanks for the help Eugenia and Carrie.. I finally get it. I will try the tubing as well!
  2. Where in California are you located? I am in So Cal, but I am willing to drive a ways if it means better pricing. Let me know! Teri
  3. LaVida, I just purchased some 4 x 6 plastic bags off of ebay for 2.95 for 100. I too wanted to seal the whole bar. I thought for this price I would try them. I read a few threads on here about a few different companies, but I just wanted to make sure that I was getting the right kind of wrap. I have received soaps that were shrink wrapped in the gift basket type of plastic and the soaps were not sealed very well. I will let you know if the ones I receive work well. Teri
  4. Thanks for the input! I just bought an impulse sealer and wanted to seal my MP soaps so they stay clean. I was just planning on giving them away.. I won't be selling them. I thought it would look nicer to give in a basket if I sealed them up...I have little kids.. they are constantly touching everything and I thought this would help with that as well as a good way to store them on shelves. I wanted to seal up my small jar candles that don't have lids. I use 1 ounce sample tins to sniff. I also thought this would help keep dust and pet hairs out of them. I love my critters, but many of my friends don't! Any suggestions of who has the nice Plasitc type of bags for sealing?.. any info would be appreciated before I make a purchase! THanks
  5. Okay Prairieannie.. I am new to this MP soaping and I want in on the Ultra Additive swap too! Please let me know when it cools down enough for ya! I was given what is sounding like an amazing recipe with Goats Milk MP and I want to give it a try, and get the opinion from gals like you that have the experience. THanks! Teri
  6. I am in California as well and I use GB 415.. I have to buy mine from Peaks until Golden Brands gets a closer supplier. You might want to pm Golden Brands here on Candletech and let him know that you are in California and would like to find a closer supplier so maybe we can all reap the bennies :yay: :yay: !!!! You can also ask him about one of his suppliers that has great shipping rates! HTH Teri
  7. Okay.. I have done the search but have not quite found what I need answered. Could you pro soap sealers explain which bags are best suited for soaps. I also need to shrink wrap some of my jar candles to keep the dust out. I would like to use the bags that are stretchy.. if this makes sense? I have gotten some soaps that were shrink wrapped in what looks like the kind of material that you would shrink wrap a gift basket around. These did not seem to cling to the product very well. I would appreciate any guidance before I go and spend more money! I would appreciate a link or 2 if you have them..Thanks! Teri
  8. That's too bad! Either way, I already have my IFT dupes being mailed to me as we speak. I will compare them to SW. If they are dead on and strong, I will be posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure we can sell 25 pounds or more on here!!!! OOPs... hope this was okay to post here.:embarasse :embarasse
  9. Sorry.. what is the Dish and Whisk? THanks
  10. I would love it if someone would do a co-op on some of Philosophys fragrances! I just love them!
  11. I have what might be a silly question, but I just have to ask! I just duped one of my all time favorite sellers with IFT. They duped it perfectly! Instead of paying certain suppliers $30 Plus/# for oils like Philosophys Amazing Grace and other favorites... Isn't it feasable to have it duped ( I am sure they probably have already done it) at the strongest level possible, buy 10-25 pounds of it and sell it on a Co-Op here? My dupe is very reasonable, and several dollars/pound cheaper than what I am paying from a supplier for all of my oils. Everyone would benefit from getting it WAY cheaper that way. Has anyone done that here on Candletech? I was just curious. I just paid a ton for my Amazing Grace, and it just occurred to me to see if anyone has done this before. Thanks for any responses!
  12. I could not have said it better myself! :yay: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I too would go with the IGI's recs.. I used this wax and it throws better than anything out there! There is no way you should use more than 1.5 ounces. You should not really need that much. You will have a really tough time wicking it to start, and the smoke stacks coming off your candle will remind you of a factory. HTH...
  14. Just a thought.. I read on another post that you can spray them with laqueur (sp?) after printing of course.. and that this will make them waterproof. The gal who does this, uses them for her shampoo, and conditioner and she says it works great. I have not tried it, but it would be worth it.. would not cost much at all! I am sure that this would be the cheapest way to waterproof your clear labels.. HTH
  15. I just wanted to share my recipe for the best throwing Sugar Cookie yet! I have purchased too many samples to count and they were okay, but I wanted DIVINE! I finally found it.. I mix Peaks Sugar Cookie with Save on Scents Butterscotch (Ultra Concentrate) 50/50.. I poured at 1.3 ounces/ pound and the throw is the bomb(in my parasoy blend) I decided to mix because Peaks smells good, but it was so viscous ( thick) that I wanted to both thin it out and add more buttery notes..I am able to use less oil, therefore reducing my wick size. I have definitely found the perfect Sugar Cookie.. :yay: .. hands down, the most requested scent all year round! Teri
  16. I tested Comfort blend.. loved the hot throw, and to be honest, have not found a wax that throws as good since. I loved it, but could not stand its messiness. I currently use J223 with soy and have found that it throws awesome and is not as messy. I also tested 6006 and loved the hot and cold throw, but found it to "sweat"..(not bleed f/o) when the weather got hot. Good wax, but pretty sooty for me.( To be fair, it could have been my lack of experience and not wicking it properly). HTH..
  17. Being a mountain girl... I just wanted to comment that the wood looks like Cedar to me!?!?!?
  18. Michael, I have used the dyes from WSP and Lonestar. I started with WSP and had to use up to 15 drops per pound and even more on the darker colors I was trying to achieve. I stumbled across the Lonestar dyes and have been swapping the WSP dyes out with them. When I used the Lonestar dyes, I only had to use 2 drops per pound with several of their dyes.. a few more drops depending on the color shade I wanted. Lonestars dyes are VERY concentrated compared to WSP. Hope this is the kind of information you were asking for. Teri
  19. Well, I just poured a straight J223 with this oil at .8 ounce per pound and I cannot believe how strong this oil is.. I have definitely been using way too much oil.. it is making me cough at this strength.. It was duped by IFT and they must have made it very strong. This is one of the few oils that has so many different complex notes in it that depending on the strength you use, it smells so different, yet, better when I use less! If this works, I will add the soy back in later on! I will post when I get to burn this baby! Thanks so very much! Teri
  20. Thanks so much.. this sounds silly, but I was sitting in church this morning listening to the sermon ( okay.. kind of sidetracked a litte:o :o ) and was thinking the same.. I will pour a few more and reduce the oil to below and ounce per pound.. I hate to give up this oil... it is hands down the best f/o I have ever smelled! I do not have any Premiers on hand.. I will have to order some more HTP's and see if that works as well. As a last resort, I will use straight J223 if I have to! Thanks again for the input.. as I am testing and growing, I am happy to see that I am beginning to think like I might have an idea what I am doing!
  21. Not trying to kiss butt, BUT... TOP...YOU ROCK.. I like and use both waxes, but it can be both confusing and overwhelming to read all the info out there on the pros and cons of each wax. I for one will be honest and say that I want the wax that looks and throws the best.. regardless if my house pets and kids all start morphing into aliens.. okay, not really, but you get the point. I just appreciate the fact that you spend a lot of time researching and sharing this information with all of us.. I for one am too busy racking my brains trying to wick what should be a simple jar! THANKS~
  22. Okay.. I have tested until I am about to cry! I need input from anyone willing to help. I have read the archives and searched past threads and have not found the answers I need. I currently use 75% paraffin with 25% soy. I use the 26 ounce Elevation Apothecary jar. I normally wick with 2 44-32-18 Zinc wicks for most of my f/o's. I have special ordered an oil that is kicking my butt! I love this oil, but I am finding that it is very heavy and is a pain in the butt to wick. My last wick size is 2 51-32-18's, and like all the other sizes it has gotten the puny wicks. I have tried HTP 105 and those suckers torched.. I would prefer to stick with the zincs, but I am wondering if anyone thinks that going up higher than the 51-32's is too large? Does anyone else have oils that give them this problem? I would be happy to send this oil to a couple of people that use similar jars and wax. I love this oil and I am DESPERATE!!! It is called Henri Bendel Vanilla Bean and it is very complex and AWESOME! Sorry.. I forgot to mention that I have poured about 10 testers with the fragrance load ranging from 1.2 to 1.5 ounces per pound. Sorry for rambling on.. it is very late.. maybe I need to test some more HTP's..smaller .. thanks for reading.. any thoughts would be appreciated!
  23. Definitely Citrus Blast by At Wix End. I also found Fruit Slices to be pretty citrusy.. HTH..
  24. I got Pumkin Spice from MMS and it was super strong at 1.10 ounce/pound. This is the exact dupe from Gold Canyon. I use a a parasoy blend it threw all over the place in minutes.. I just used a sample so all I had was a little over an ounce. I am happy to say that I will only have to use this much per pound!
  25. I have been using Tradewinds Herbal Ecstacy... it smells great..but I was hoping to find one that is SUPER strong.. any suggestions? TIA!
