  1. I saw a mottling oil that can added to wax. It didn't explain if it could be added to soy wax. I wonder if thats what they did. Those are pretty.
  2. Well said. I completely agree. What goes around will come around.
  3. Thanks everyone for the replies. :highfive: I realize these 2 waxes are soy blends with KY having a slight higher % of paraffin. They both seem to perform equally well when it comes down to cold/hot throw, frost, coloring and adhesion. I'm still left curious about their reliability in consistency from batch to batch. I know that soy can be unreliable due to different crops. I'm just wondering if the higher % of paraffin in KY's Perfect Blend has helped to resolve this issue or are they equal in this area as well. Tia
  4. When I compared Eco Soy Adv. and GB 464, I liked the GB 464 better for throw and appearance. Hth
  5. It really depends on the type of soy wax. Is it a soy votive wax?
  6. I heard it's a 50/50 blend. I've been searching for info but really haven't found any. Does anyone use this wax? Would this be the same type of wax as the Farmhouse 50/50? I sure hope so, shipping would be so much closer. Tia
  7. Thank you, Misty. I hope you don't mind me asking, but after reading KY's own description, do you have any frosting issues? Have you noticed their batches being consistent from each case? Thanks again
  8. Would anyone that has used these 2 waxes be willing to share their opinions of them? Tia
  9. I don't know if BCS's mulberry is the same as BCN. I use Mulberry from BCS, it's really strong and has a strong berry tart smell to me. It does not smell what I thought my customers would consider a mulberry. I really liked it, so I renamed it, and have kept looking. I just recently poured KY's mulberry. I agree with the others, it really smells nice without the lip puckering tart smell. Jmho, hth.
  10. I agree, rumors suck. I don't think they would be working so hard in adding all the new features just to shut the site down. I was glad to see your post asking if it was true and very relieved to see the answer is "no". :smiley2:
  11. I haven't had any problems with them and they've been great to work with so far. I do remember reading they were having a graphics convention recently. I just thought that was why they were not accepting new sign ups.
  12. My customers really like SoyCandle.com's Pina Colada. You can even smell a touch of rum.
  13. I know last year it was held in July and I believe I read somewhere that in times past it was held in the fall. Will there be one this year?
  14. Did you use all uppercase letters? It's case sensitive. Hth
  15. I just got a sample of Spiced Lime from TCS. I have several citrus loving customers who I think will love this. I even really like this one. No fuel smell either. Just thought I would share.
  16. Wally World in the arts and craft section near the oil paints and brushes. Hth
  17. I believe I saw that Peaks had a comment about crystals in f/o's on their site explaining that it is normal and what to do when it happens. I would call them and ask about it.
  18. Meridith: I do know lots about business. This is not my first business this is my second one, the first is succesful. I know that it may seem that i do not know much about candles but i do. My post were written very poorly on my behalf and were interpreted the wrong way. Bath and Body works, i make tons of bath and body works. I give them as gifts and use them religiously at my home. I guarentee i can answer almost any question that the average consumer to advanced candle maker can throw at me. As i said above this is not my first business so i have an extensive customer database, in which all of my customers have been satisfied with their experience with my business. I truly hate that many people on this site are judging me by my first post which i regret every putting on this site. Thanks If this is not your 1st business, what was the name of your 1st business? I've lived in MS all my life and only about 2 1/2 hours away from you. If it has been so successful, then maybe I' ve heard of it. If you are so experience in candle making and are so successful at it, what stores carry your candles? Or do you do wholesale? Why did you not have pics of your candles and an established website before now?
  19. I agree with Meridith. I'm from MS but doubt if I would ever purchase a product from this company. It seems as though they are trying to run a marathon before they have ever learned how to crawl. This to me is just scarey. JMHO
  20. This is just a thought, I could be wrong. Parrifin does cost more but isn't it easier to wick, to color and less picky about f/o's that are compatable? Soy is some what harder to find f/o's that will throw, not to mention can be a pain to color. Think about how much $ goes into testing supplies and pain relievers. Just a headache to work with some times. Just in my area, pure soy candles are rare and hard to find. So just like any rare and hard to find artifact, it's more pricey. If people really want a soy candle, they need to pay for my headaches, lol. I could be wrong. :undecided
