  1. I don't mind. I purchase my GB wax and wicks from SoyCandle.com. They carry all the 700 sizes, and offer them in packs of 50.
  2. I'm like you , I've tried the cd's and the lx's with the 464. I never had good luck with lx's for scent throw and I got a better scent throw with the cd's but I always ended up with cd10 being too little and the cd12 being too big with my candles. What I'm liking about the 700's is I can find the wick that's fits in between. It can be frustrating to find a starting point since there are so many to choose from. My supplier was extremely helpful in keeping me from buying ones they didn't think I would use for my jars. hth
  3. I recently started working with the 700 series. I'm really impressed the cleaner burn, and absent mushroom. Hth
  4. I just received a slab of 6006, 6098, and 4730 yesterday. I started pouring last night. I'm really hoping one of these combos will work. I'm leaning more to 402, 435 or 464 to mix it with. I' really hope one of these work.
  5. I've poured 444 and imo it's harder than 464 and 402. I think Jason from Golden Brands or another supplier explained that 444 is 415 with 2% soy additive and 464 is 402 with 2% soy additive. I could be wrong. :embarasse
  6. I went back and reread your post. I noticed you mentioned using 415. The 415 is a harder wax than 402. You might want to try the 402 instead of 415 to get rid of the cracks. Hth
  7. Hi Sharon! I'm probably no help since I've never tried their wax. I did read what they had to say about their IGI6006. I think it was a little misleading they called it a soy paraffin blend since the manufacturer calls it a parasoy. I'm pickey about things like that cause I like to keep it honest with my customers. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful
  8. Oh paaaaleaze. Your vacation doesn't begin until Friday! Thank you for checking it anyway. :highfive:
  9. I've been bitten by the blending bug. I mixed 7 oz. of 100% soy with 3 oz. of 60/40 parasoy. Since 3 oz's is a 60/40 it can't really be a true 70/30 it's more like 82/18 when rounded would be 80/20, right? Tia P.S. I tried asking my dear friend and she said I gave her a migraine. (You know who you are)
  10. Thanks Tony for the info. I called SoyCandle.com this morning and they carry it. I'm going to stick with them cause The Candle Store is in Ohio and so far away from me. But it's always nice to know there is more than one place to get it. Just to let everyone know, I spoke to Melissa & www.soycandle.com was down over the weekend, they are upgrading their system.
  11. I don't have any idea if IGI6006 is the same as J300 but I called IGI Thursday to see if there was another supplier other than C&S that carried the 6098. In our conversation she also talked about 6006 being similiar to 6098 and that it was also used and very popular to make layered candles with. Hth
  12. Thanks Stella1952, I'll call Melissa Monday and see if they still have it. This is a harder to find wax but I really want to compare it for blend. Thanks again.
  13. I don't know if I can really help, I don't use palm. I have experienced air pockets and I got rid of them by pouring slower. Hth
  14. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one getting computer software. Thanks for checking.
  15. Some f/o's can cause the wax to look yellow. I have a couple of f/o's that will turn my wax a light shade of orange. When I experienced to much f/o in my candle it looked as if the candle had beads of oil on the top. Does it look like that?
  16. The only supplier I have found that carries this wax is SoyCandle.com but I can't get on their site. Is anyone else having trouble logging on to www.soycandle.com ? Tia
  17. I use a 70/30 blend and experienced holes and cracking around the wick. So I started placing my candles back in the case after I poured them and placed a towel over the top until they cooled. This allowed the top of my candles to cool slowly which gets rid of the wet spots, cracking and sink holes near the wick. Hth
  18. The light blue is new. I like it. They are really beautiful.
  19. It sounds like you might need to wick down. I've noticed the need to trim the CD's if the wick is too big but sometimes it happens with certain f/o's as well.
  20. I'm sure there will be different opinions on this but I have never found that I had to let mine cure. Hth
  21. I can understand when a candle maker has spent their time and money perfecting their own blend and keeping it a secret. I can respect that. I have a problem with purchasing wax that a supplier refuses to give just a ratio % of soy to pariffin so I know how to market my finished candle to the public. I agree with KandleKrazy, it's a waste of our time and money to duplicate test.
