  1. www ya I hadn't thought about that... hmmm that might be why they weren't so popular... unless they are cheap enough to use them as disposable one lol
  2. hey Marie Welcome back... Don't you just love the look of the new forum. There are all sorts of cool new extras... Congratulations on the new baby... I don't have any children yet but I'm sure being a stay at home mom is a lot more enjoyable then working away from your children. Can't wait to see you around the forum more often. HUGS
  3. I use my logo as well as graphics... but I design mine so it's easy to keep adding things... if you need any help just gimme a shout. HUGS
  4. Those are darling... I hosted a Valentine Swap on another forum (Secret Sweetheart rather) and a few of the gals used those molds... I couldn't wait to use them. HUGS
  5. WOW Mary those turned out beautiful... almost makes me want to try my hand at mp again lol... I've done confetti soap before with curls and like stated above as long as you don't over heat it... just barely melt it you won't have a problem... although I'm tempted to buy some to try the other techniques just to see how it effects the finished product. GOOD LUCK and be sure to share pictures of your experiments HUGS Andrea
  6. I'm really interested in finding this out too. Have been wanting to make one but all of the stuff involved starts to add up... not to hijack but does anyone happen to know just about how much a modified presto pot comes out to cost you by the time you are done? Just curious if it's worth the hassle... I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. HUGS Andrea
  7. Well sounds like everyone pretty well has it covered... I like Scented's idea with the embeds in the container candles that would be cute... the decals sound wonderful... and agree the container candles would probably be a LOT easier. Let us know how it turns out and FOR SURE POST PICTURES of the finished product. HUGS
  8. Thanks you two... defanitly will look at the site and see if they have them. I've never seen them and think the whole concept is really interesting.
  9. NOTE: There has been some talk on another thread about this swap being for December. Not upset about the misunderstanding although I do want to clarify that the due date for boxes to me is November 1st. I'm starting this swap early so that everyone has time to make their gifts and so they are not having to make their swap items during the rush. Hence starting in August. That gives you a little over 2 months to get your 9 items ready and to my door step. Please don't shy away in fear that you will be too busy at Christmas time as you have plenty of time before the rush to get a couple goodies together. Now you won't be able to open your gifts until Christmas morning but that is the only thing taking place in December for this swap. Just had to clarify. HUGS Now by all means keep reading and sign up if you want to have some extra Christmas goodies from your friends here at CandleTech. Also want to take the opportunity to mention this is an anything goes swap... So anything you want to put together for your gifts be it candles, scrapbook stuff, handmade jewelry anything your heart desires is welcome in this swap. Hey everyone.. Fairy_Light here wanting to host a Christmas swap for the Candletech forum. I think it would be loads of fun having tuns of gifts to unwrap at christmas time from all your friends on the forum... venture to the thread in the OT and check it out. If it sparks your interest by all means SIGN UP. Not sure if the OT is where i should have posted the swap so I'm posting a short note on the general areas of candles and soaps. Follow the link below for more info on the swap. HUGS http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2721

  11. I just saw those on tv tonight my mom was very excited about those... sucks to hear they don't burn very long... will probably give them a try just for fun... defanitely would love to know what they are using.
  12. My mom and I were discussing the new oil candles and she brought up a type of candle/oil thing back in the early 80's or so don't quote us on it... but she said you put a floating plastic wick holder in oil... and the wick would burn as long as the oil... it looked like a candy bowl or the fake crystal dishes in the hobby section. She said you stuck your wick through this clear plastic floaty thing. You lit the wick in the oil and it didn't burn the thing it floated around with but it burnt the oil kinda like a lanter would... we were wondering if these are still around and also if you could do that but use oil and fragrance it. Probably served to be a very dangerous type of burning a candle but still would be really neat to try and recreate it and figure out a way to make it safe or semi safe anyways lol ... defanitely wouldn't be for a home with children. Any input is greatly appreciated.. Thanks everyone for looking. HUGS
  13. WOWzers glad everyone is ok and hopefully no wax was harmed in the fire defanitely making a mental note lol... crossing my fingers that will be the last fire. HUGS
  14. I've had some problems witht hem before but nothing that didn't get resolved... I guess you get what you pay for... they're free other then actual postage they even send you free shipping supplies so I kinda feel you win some you lose some. There's gotta be ups and downs when you can do it from the comfort of you home eh. None the less it's aggravating as H*LL I hope you get it all cleared up. HUGS
  15. Geez that is rediculous but you have to hand it to them... they've proven to have a really good scent throw and built up their name. I only hope I can build a name like that at one point in time. Though i'd never charge that much it would make for a very profitable business. HUGS
  16. i think it's very immature to speak poorly about other peoples products... talk up about yours in a way that doesn't take talking down about others... he got what he deserved... HUGS
  17. Have to agree with the majority and say the first one is the one I would go with. It would best represent your company as a whole. HTH Hugs
  18. Hey i don't blame you i would be PO'd too... defanitely get ahold of them . As for people in the U.S as far as I know if you are using priority mail or express you can get free supplies online at the usps.com. They ship them to you for free and everything so if they are located in the U.S there's no reason for them not to be using new boxes... unless it was parcel post, or ofcourse they didn't know you can get them free from the Post Office... only priority and express though as it insures you will be using them to ship your packages and they like to encourage that. I hope everything works out good and you get compensation for your time, money, and damaged goods. HUGS
  19. Hey hun you have already been told what to use in it so i can't be of much help with that but a good thing to mention when selling or even giving this stuff away is to make sure and throw away any excess not to put it back in the bottle as with no preservative it will become contaminated... HUGS
  20. hey just wanted to add my 2 cents in here. I use Click-n-Ship with USPS they send you free priority and express boxes to your door no cost to you at all... you can get a free delivery confirmation with everything you ship via online. You can insure all of your packages not to mention they give you like 10 different options. There's a calculations area where you just calculate shipping if someone needs a quote. Customer care for the most part is awesome... not to mention the best part about it is... IT"S FREEE.... and they pick it up at your door step for free... wowzers I love it... but hey if you like paying $16.00 a month and it's worth it stick with it just know there's something out there that doesn't cost you anything but exact shipping with free shipping supplies to boot. HTH HUGS
  21. I second Scottopus's idea for the candles-n-beyond.com that would be a cute one to use and different enough where they wouldn't mix it up atleast not really often. If you have to stick with the name as I'm sure you do (Due to Business name) that would be the name I would try next... if you need any help as far as building the site drop me a line and I'll see if i can help you out. HUGS
  22. I agree... truly misleading. Maybe not a lye (lol) at all but if anyone else goes there to buy something from them (that is know as soap smart as those who make it) and then tries to say it's not a lye-by product while trying to sell it. I'm sure sooner or later someone more knowledgable is going to straighten them out. lol I know if I saw them at a craft fair or something I would defanitely have to point out that lye is what makes the ingredients turn into soap, and how in the world did they manage to do all this without any lye during any of the process... oh I'd love to hear that response.. uhh uhh well uhh.... hmmmmm . lol
