Hey hun not sure if this will be much help but figure Your wax costs you about .07 or (0.0647727) cents an oz. How much does your Container cost? Fragrance? Dye? Additives? I.E Container = .60 Fragrance = .50 / oz Dye = .10 Additives = .10 Wax = 1.30 - 1.40 / 20 oz Total = 2.70 per Candle I'm rounding to the higher end... Not including gas to pick up supplies, time spent making the candles, etc. HTH HUGS Andrea

Thanks you guys for the replies. The wax is very opaque on the slab so I guess you are right it's the wax. Where can I get one that is some way transparent. Yes they are round pillars. I'll defanitely try not waiting as long I waited quite some time in fear that they would all moosh together. We'll see how it turns out gonna give it another try today. HUGS and Thanks again Andrea

Hey everyone... I'm trying to make a rustic candle with layers. Deep blue on the bottom a pumpkin pie orange in the middle and a hazelnut brown on the top. I want it to look somewhat transparent not opaque... I'm having a REALLY hard time with the layers not adhering to each other and my colors are coming out pastel and very opaque. Any suggestions as far as temperatures and color mixing would be great. I am just playing with a wax I traded for. The lady i traded didn't remember the brand or anything of the wax so i can't look up the specifics. I have an image in my head of what I want it to look like and I'm not getting any where near my goal. PLEASE HELP. Thanks in Advance Andrea

I have a couple of these and have been meaning to try them out but wanted to research more on them. I'm a little scared to use them but wonder what it would be like to try them and have your ear free of wax... hmmm I'll be keeping an eye on this thread Thanks everyone for all the info HUGS

Purple Lilac isn't that just how it always works out lol... the things you couldn't imagine using you have to because it's what the customers like. I don't make CP anymore but I know Lovespell was a big hit when i was making it. HUGS

Ohhhh I'm not sure on the legalities of it either but I do know my mom is a Lover of Pooh and would love to get a mold just to make for personal use soaps she would love it for Christmas if anyone knows where to get them LMK.. HUGS

Sorry to hear she misunderstood you and represented you to the owner in the wrong manner. I personally would wait until the owner is back in town to take the basket in. This way you can make a real first impression and explain things to her personally. It's always better to show what a good person you are and click on something with the owner then they feel more apt to help you out and put your stuff in their store. When they don't know you it's easier to say no. KWIM HTH HUGS

HOLY COW that's a WHOLE LOT OF CANDLES... talk about a large work load. You have your work cut out for you. You can do it girl looks like you are on your way to being finished very soon. Oh hun... how upsetting. I don't doubt that message was a bit more filthy then that and if it wasn't I give you props because mine would have been. I know like stated above they have to draw a line somewhere but they need to get a little more educated on the personal business world before pointing fingers obviously lol. Having a website doesn't mean squat when it comes to being commercial we all know that. Although I wish it did mean we had 1,000s of orders upon orders for our goodies then we wouldn't need some peebody show to attend we would have enough on our plate. HUGS

When i was doing CP... I would let it gel over night in the over and then when i woke up the next morning after breakfast so about 9 am -11 am I would take it out of the mold and cut it. I normally leave it out for a couple weeks on a shelf to let it cure and get harder. I noticed the longer you let the bar cure the longer the bar would last in the shower. HTH HUGS

Well I can't really comment on either of the molds other then what I have heard. I've heard some good things about the Kelsie molds but a whole lot of good things about the upland molds. I personally have a matha mold with the 3 rows in it makes a good number of bars and I used one of those things from home depo (think it's a miter box) and a soap cutter to cut my bars back when i was making soap. I think the upland though just from hear say is the better mold. Seems a lot more people are a lot more happy with it. HTH HUGS

Hey... I haven't tried Stevia but I have tried and still use Sucralose with is the main ingredient in Splenda not normally available to the public. Atleast not in stores and what not. I have a friend who just got out of a bakery business that has a mess of it she is looking to get rid of. I hosted a co-op on it and not too many people were interested. It's expensive per say but concidering a bb size ball of sucralose will sweeten a gallon of tea it's one of those things were a little bit really does go a LONG way. I normally make a non flavored batch of lip balm and sweeten it to an extreme. Then filter out what's left of the sucralose that didn't incorporate into the lip balm mixture and put it in a container for using as the sweetener when I make flavored lip balms. Then you just add a little bit of the sweetened lip balm to your batch and there you have it... Sweetened lip balm. I have more information on it if you are interested just pm me. HUGS

Your products and boot look awesome... I think it looks great. Sad to hear you didn't have very many customers but like stated above school starting might have a lot to do with it. It by no means was your fault though. Great job HUGs
