  1. Seems to be back up and running fine now
  2. Awe... see now if I was older I wouldn't mind having a little helper around with so many bright ideas... defanitely a keeper
  3. I made sure and asked him in the e-mail to let me know what the odor is like. Another person i talked to that has had Alligator oil before in a small amount said there was no odor at all. I guess it just depends. i will be sure and post an update as soon as I find out if there is one and if there is what it's like and if there isn't that there isn't Keep your eyes pealed as i get more info I'll update the thread. It's supposed to be better then emu oil though and the benefits for people who do radiation amazes me.
  4. Hey everyone... I was reading through some info this morning and the Alligator oil struck my interest. I did some searching and digging for suppliers of Alligator meat and finally found someone who owns an Alligator farm in Louisiana. I'm sending him my interests via e-mail after speaking with him earlier. He is going to send me a quote by the lb for Alligator oil. I was wondering if anyone would truly be interested in purchasing some. Has anyone ever used it? I'm researching the benefits of the oil now but it's not an easy oil to find information out about. lol I'm definitely interested in seeing what this stuff can do one person posted that it's supposed to be good for skin cells after radiation treatment I believe is what was said. By all means correct me if I'm wrong. So let me know if you would be interested and how much you would be interested in. I'll post pricing as soon as I find out. HUGS edited to add: Alligator oil has a high mineral content and is a rich source of copper and zinc which are highly reactionary in fighting cell Damage. Naturebath says: Fully refined and odor-free, Alligator Oil contains 20.87% Omega 6 fatty acid which is 7% higher than any other oil known to man (including even the best quality emu oil). Omega 6 has also been proven in independent lab tests to benefit cells destroyed by cancer radiation treatment. Alligator oil has high mineral content and is a rich source of copper and zinc which are highly reactionary in fighting cell damage. Alligator oil is easily absorbed transdermally, aiding in delivery of the actives into and rejuvenation of underlying cells. The manufacturer recommends keeping this oil refrigerated.
  5. When I was making soaps I always tried to get a swirl in. The way i learned it (through my boyfriends mom ) which I'm sure is just one of the many ways to do it. Is like stated above you take out a small portion of the mixture add color and then instead of putting it in the pot pour a couple zig zag lines on the mold before putting the large portion of the batch in. Then take the big batch of soap and pour it in your mold. After you have it all leveled out in a zig zag slowly pour your color. Then take a shishcabob stick and swirls it around until you get the design you like. I like the fish spine look but what ever works for you. Then go on like you normally do with your CP soap recipes. Worked every time for me. I'm very interested though in seeing how the pot swirl looks. Anyone want to share pictures? HTH HUGS Andrea
  6. Defanitely want to talk to Bunny more before you try the recipe. I'm sure you would be really upset if you spent that pretty of a penny on a recipe and then it riced up on you or something. There's many things that can go wrong not that they will but best to be prepared and know what's happening instead of being caught by surprise. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread too as the recipe looks very interesting. Sparking my soap making nerve back up I might just have to give it a try after further instruction. I dont' even know what to expect with those oils. lol HUGS Andrea
  7. Same thing here... I sure hope everything is ok over there...
  8. Well not that I can be of any help but i defanitely was wondering the same thing about embeds as i have all these goodies to make pie candles yet not the nerve nor the knowledge to do anything with them yet. I'll be keeping my eye on this thread. Thanks for bringing the question up I had totally forgotten about it. HUGS
  9. Godaddy is great for domains but if you are interested in a good hosting and domain package I recommend Omnis. HTH HUGS
  10. Ohhh I'll have to go check those out. Those sound nifty... thanks for sharing HUGS
  11. Ewww ick I know I would FRRRRRR EAK OUT if I opened a box and it had little bugs everywhere. I'd defanitely call the company and ask for a replacement. But please do freeze everything like stated above if that's what has kept those little critters out of my life I'm thankful for the small inconvenience. I have a small little freezer I put them in. Not sure I want them in with my food but after they have been frozen for a while I would if needed. HTH HUGS
  12. I have to agree Bittercreek all the way before I started making my own lotion. Now I wouldn't buy for the life of me. I like mine far too much lol took a long time to accomplish the feel I was looking for though. Good luck hun and defanitely give BC a good look if you are interested in a premade ready to go base. You are looking at base in a tub where you add water to make it expand. (BAD BAD stuff.. tends to grow lots of beasties if not preserved right.) HTH HUGS Andrea
  13. Hey i've been following your thread and it got me wondering... Has anyone tried making gel pie candles with glitter on say the fruit area of the center of the pie? Not to hijack your thread but how would you go about doing that? HUGS Andrea
  14. How Pathedic of them. I mean I'm no expert at candle making.... "yet" really I'm still just a newbie. But even before I knew anything I knew you couldn't do it in a microwave. And anything that sounds too good to be true "Get rich quick" almost always is. Just sucks for people who know what they are doing specially with parifin as I've tried both and although i love soy for it's earth friendly characteristics, Parifin is just SOOO much easier to work with for me. Couldn't you order a candle and then comfront them with the false claims? I mean someone needs to be able to put these people in their place. Or is it more like a shake your head and let them look like idiots type thing? Still sad they have to stoop that low to sell a product. I really hope those people just fizzle out!!! I feel sorry for those who fall subject to it but the last thing everyone needs is to be at craft fairs hearing people preach about something they know so little about.
  15. I personally love Juniper Breeze but it's not just a Christmas scent.. guess i never really got into holiday themed fragrances. Not yet anyways I'll keep my eye on this list incase i decide to venture this season or next. Good Luck hun and please post what your end result is on the fragrances. HUGS Andrea
  16. When I had my website up I accepted both. A lot of people don't have cash in their paypal and rely on credit cards although there is a transfer fee if you have a high enough clientele bases it's well worth having the option available. HTH HUGS Andrea
  17. Ohhh how awesome... I bet she did love it. Wish I could see a picture of it. I have seen a few embeded hurricanes but I bet that one was just awesome. Specially with the picture of her new born. See if you can't get one of it hehehe would love to see it. HUGS
  18. Oh hun I'm sooo sorry to hear of that. How horrible of her not to keep her word. People like that just pluck my last nerve. Anywho.. I hope things all work out for the best.. pm me when you get a chance. HUGS
  19. Sorry to say I have never worked with them. However I was going to offer, if you'd like to have them shipped to me... as I'm located in Texas as well and shipping shouldn't be too much i could try shipping them to you. At the same time if they dont' make it there then they are no longer responsible so that might not be a good idea either. I just like to help out where ever I can so if I can be of any help let me know . Good Luck and sorry to hear you haven't gotten your labels by now that's a long time to wait for something. HUGS
  20. Oh how exciting... sending lots of good luck vibes your way. Keep us posted. HUGS
  21. Hey hun don't know anything about them but googled the name and this is what i came up with... HTH http://www.candlebusinesscorner.com/main.htm HUGS
  22. Oh I hope it went well I really can't wait to hear how it went though... WAKE UP and let us know Possibly even share pics if possible. Would LOVE to see them. HUGS
  23. Oh My Goodness.... I bet that did hurt. You were sure to put emu on it right away right? Would think that would help slightly with the pain... I know it does for any other burn I get. Thanks for sharing although I've stopped making lye soap for a while due to the heat in Texas and Load of school work I have to do I'll defanitely keep this in mind for next time i make it. Note to newbie soap makers keep a big bottle of Vinegar around EVERY TIME you make soap. It reverses the process of the lye eating at your skin. Hope it gets better and isn't hurting anymore. Glad to hear the soap turned out good. HUGS
  24. If youa re open to all ideas i use a 4x6 clear bag with a card stock folded tag attached to the top of the bag. Looks really cute and you can get the bags for like $2.00 for 100 at wal-mart. Good luck HUGS
