  4. Ohhh those turned out awesome... reminds me of ripples in the sand. And to even go further it could be the sand in egypt... ohhh I feel a gimmick coming along lol... you could even say "The soap that has you longing for water, more then the egyptian dessert" ok I'll calm down now.. sheesh don't get those moments often HA HA. Ok any who I think your soaps are wonderful. HUGS

  8. Hey hun, Just heat it up (I use a double boiler) add what you want... stir it up really good... I've used a measuring cup if it's liquid enough it works great. Just pour it right in the bottle now if you have a tiny bottle using a zip lock will work a lot better. If you get up the nerve to try it from scratch i know of a really easy recipe for beginners I could point you in the direction of. Good Luck HUGS
  9. ohhh that sounds devine... thanks for sharing. HUGS

  11. Oh that's understandable... as there isn't a section for that kind of stuff... lol Thanks tuns... HUGS
  12. Oh Scented that's a great idea... I used to make personalized soap boxes but the price for personalizing and then cutting and blah de blah no one was wanting to spend that much on packaging soaps. (understandable none the less) but Business cards and labels would be good. I've done a couple of folks brochures before. Thanks hun any ideas on where i should post them? Classifieds or?
  13. The bath and body stuff I don't like to sell since I don't have a business license it was just for family and friends. I can make a yummy lotion base but it's not tested by the big guys so i don't want to advertise that either. Trying to stick to all of the rules. I have done many sites in the past couple years but finding the demand for websites isn't an easy task anymore. The market is flooded with webdesigners. Scrapbooking really is just a fun hobby I mean I do really creative things when scrapbooking but most people like to do that their self since it's so personal. Hence why I'm having a problem coming across the money to go because I just don't know where any of this stuff is in demand. KWIM?
  14. Oh ebay might work... I can't have a garage sale as I don't have enough stuff to put out there and mom never parts with her goodies lol but i will go see what I have that I can part with. Thanks for the idea... keep em coming. HUGS
  15. Hey everyone... I'm Andrea a.k.a Fairy_Light... I'm new to making candles and very interested in learning more about the field. I know some stuff but defanitely not enough to start selling. I'm really wanting to go to the convention in lufkin this September but I can only go if I earn the $70.00 for my mom and I to go "myself". I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to go about this without having to sell candles. (I'm just not confident enough to do this yet) I've found a great type of wax for making tarts and am still working on getting my packaging just right. I do scrapbooking, webdesign, bath and body products, I'm great with spreadsheets and making formula's for them. If anyone knows of any places these things might be of use at I'd love any input possible. Thanks everyone in advance for any input. Hey everyone taking all of the ideas to heart and actually thought up another one that could work in with scrapbooking... Secret Buddy Cards Scrapbook style... here are two pictures of the card I made up the other night. Let me know what you think. Was thinking a specially designed card with 2 sets of tarts would be a cool thing to offer to everyone taking part in the Secret Buddy system. Any input is welcome. HUGS Crossing my fingers the pictures show up lol
  16. Have you tried adding any additives to see if it will help with mixing the fragrance in and getting the wax to hold? I had this problem but only with my soy votives... that and being in Texas doesn't help lol. HTH
  17. I think they look neat but I don't even know what they are... hey you have a Yorkie... awe me too I have a little boy... LOVE THEM.. hehehe HUGS
  18. I don't know if this is possible but I read someone messed up and used hurricane wax for a pillar and it burned very slowly... maybe that would help with the time frame and what not. I would still put them on something large enough to catch the wax and make sure there are no curtains or anything flamable around the candles as i can see a fire hazzard galore with that. Other then that I can't help much but congrats on the big order and hope all goes well. HUGS
  19. I agree with everyone above in all the reading I've done I've heard some people even have warm rooms set up just for letting their candles cool in. Supposed to give the candle a better turn out allowing it to cool slower. HTH HUGS
  20. Hey hun I had no idea but try out this site: http://www.geocities.com/lwoollen_25/FragranceFinder/index.html There should be atleast one supplier you know will have a good product. Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help more. HUGS
  21. I always put a small layer of wax on the bottom and add the wick. Then after it has started to get a film on the top of the disc I add the rest of my wax (not too hot as it will cause the wick to release and possibly move) other then that and votive or pillar mold works great for me.
  22. Oh that sounds devine... now where to get some mango butter and sweet almond hehehehe Thanks for sharing...
  23. Oh cool... be sure to let us know how it goes. Now that you brought the site up again some of those oils look very tempting...
  24. Oh that makes sense... I think I have a big bottle I bought at wal-mart... btw those look adorable and I'm sure they would sell well to almost any generation specially the younger croud. Thanks for sharing HUGS
  25. Hey linwvr you know you are only like 45 minutes away from me. How cool... I'm about 15 min out of Huntsville between Huntsville and Livingston... woohooo lol ok sorry just had to mention that. HUGS
