I started out using that wax but the melt point was just too low. If the candle was sitting on the counter in my kitchen the recessed lighting would melt it! I have 8 foot ceilings.

Double wicking apothecary jars using Parasoy blend was my project over the weekend. I was successful at wicking an 8 oz with two LX 12's and a 16 oz with two HTP 72's. The LX's burned to the edge on the first burn cycle. The HTP's took two cycles to catch up. I've only tried the HTP's on one FO though. Kaybee had some great advice for me that you can find here: http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23229 HTH Sab
I've been working on wicking these jars for 3+ months now. I'm using 8 oz and 16 oz (single wicks). The best wick I've found are LX's and I've pretty much tried everything except CD. I almost have a full meltpool but they are still leaving a little scraping of wax on the sides. I'm getting tired and discouraged. I did attempt double wicking with HTP 73's today. They burned too hot - more towards one side of the jar and didn't give me a full meltpool. I had them centered well. Someone please talk me off the ledge! Wondering if I should give it up and try a different jar. I'm using JS 50/50 wax. Thanks, Sab
I just poured it for the first time tonight. I haven't burned yet but OOB and in the liquid wax it smells more like grape cool-aid. I'm hoping it smells better during the burn. If not, I'll have to name it Grape. :rolleyes2
Thanks for the tip! I just poured with 2 HTP 73's. This is the first time I've double wicked. Using chopsticks to hold the wick in place after pouring isn't working well w/double wicks - I'm going to have to find another method.
I've been burning KY's Birthday Cake all morning. It's very strong! I've also got KY's Pearberry burning in my den which I can smell all the way upstairs. (I have a 3600 sq ft house) I think this is my new favorite FO supplier.
Cranberry Cobbler is good - of all the cranberry FO's I've tried, I like that one best. Some of my favorite JS FO's: Katie Jo's Pink Lemonade Clean and Fresh Linen Plumeria Vineyard Chai Tea Orange Dreamsickle Winterberry Wreath Berry Balsam
need to be wicked up more often than not? I've noticed that I have to wick up on most of them compared to light spring scents that I've been testing. Btw, I'm using JSB 50/50 wax. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue?
I'm using 3 inch jars and most of the time I'm getting a full meltpool in 3 hours. When I burn a second, third time, etc.- I'm getting a full melt pool in a shorter amount of time. Just wondering if this is okay.
