  1. Thanks for the links, I love the stand up ones at stock bag. I wish you could get less than 1000.
  2. I would put it in the poly pro bag first, I would think even with the lining it would come through and dampness get in. It really depends on where you live also In New England it is damp right now we have had a lot of showers ( I have my dehumidifier on) tends to be humid during the summer so the bag would break down quicker with the salts in it. I don't think the bags have a very good lining in them to withstand it. The Bags I had were not lined at all and were a mess with in 2 or 3 days, so I tried putting them in zip lock bag, that was eaten in about a week. Have you seen any of the tin tied with poly pro? But then again you would not be able to punch hole in it for ribbon and tag, so I would still do it with both bags.
  3. I checked and mine were not Poly pro bags, that would be why they were eaten up, I used them in the tin tie bags also. I love how they look in the bags but if the are not lined they do stain the bag and the salt becomes a soggy clump fast. I punched holes near the top and ran a ribbon throw them or raffa, with a hang tag. I will get some poly pro bags and try it in them. I don't want glass either as I hate to think of it breaking and have heard of some exploding also.
  4. I don't know where you can get them so no help there. but I attempted to packaged mine that way and the salt and fo/eo ate throw them pretty fast.
  5. Beaters could be part of your problem, all they are doing is whipping air in to the soap not really blending it, in my opinion. do you have a wire whisk, that may help? Could you lye be bad? Added too much water? Soaping too cold? Change your brand of OO? I would buy a new stick blender and try that..
  6. Looks like everyone will be busy. Scented, I doubt your soaps will look anything but professional! I have decided maybe I should box up some of the 400 or so bars that are all set to go before I make some new ones. I have one of my biggest shows of the year next weekend. I have been doing it for 4 years and I am the only soap grafter. Attendance last year was about 50,000. I am set for it but it will clean out my store so I better box up what I have for the store. If I get a chance maybe I will do a Green tea and Rose soap. One of my favorites but get fancy in the slab mold.
  7. I have not made soap in almost 2 weeks and going through withdrawal but have no idea what to make. Of course Sunday is Easter so I won't be doing any then. Maybe I will try to play around with my slab mold. I have only used it once about 4 years ago. Please, Someone give me ideas for my brain freeze!
  8. I am sure they must be using the powdered extracts. You can not use real fruit in them unless you make it and use it with in a day or 2. The coconut is probably coconut oil. Here is a link to the powders http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/raw-materials-fruit-extracts-c-13_61.html Hope that helps.
  9. They are great, nice job! I wish I had a kitchen like that! All those cabinets! I have 3 so I have to have free standing ones which clutters the room
  10. Maybe it is the reason they stopped selling them. They maybe had to change the formula and they are acting funny. It is a new shipment I had gotten a while ago and used it for the first time. I had used the old raspberry with out a problem. Stella, you are right it does look like cheese, lol. It sure is a limited edition soap! It is cool.
  11. Looks very nice. I like the 2 layers, almost looks like beer!
  12. That is beautiful! I love every thing about it. It is very Victorian looking. I love that rose fabric, I have it also.
  13. These are CP and the frosting on them are whipped soap. I love how they came out. The Ice cream cone top didn't come out too good but it was my first try at them.
  14. Thanks! They are a pain to make. The hair on each one takes about 4 to 5 hours, each strand is had sewn in by hand. But they are so cute I can't resist making them.
  15. This is Love spell, has been curing for 2 weeks. Interesting how the top and sides are pink and the rest an orangy color. Coloring is done with Raspberry Pop. Not a great picture but it will show you what I mean'

  17. Here is what I have been working on Small ones are 15 inches high, Large ones are 24 inches tall.
  18. The Tootsie Cream sounds interesting! Made with Peppermint EO or mentholated crystals? Every time I tried Liquid soap I hated it and was a big failure. Glad you got to make some things but where did you get the energy after working 14+ hour shift? This weekend I made a few restocks and a great delicate blend of some left over FO's. A combo of Snow Queen, Amazing Grace, Bamboo and green tea, I really was surprised at how delicate and feminine it came out. But best was, after tons of fine tuning I got to use a soap cutter my Sweetie made for just like the "Tank" OMG it is great. I also put the finishing touches on 4 Raggedy Anne and Andy's I was making.
  19. I love it. Nice job. Crocheted? It looks like a lot of work.
  20. You probably can use them but you would have to dry them so as to not have them get moldy and cause a problem. Then you will have to grind it up to almost a powder otherwise they would be tough on the skin..
  21. That is beautiful! I wish I had hoarded some of it, it was one of my favorites!
  22. Sounds like you had quite an adventure! I would have stuck the whole thing in the crockpot and Did a HP with it. It sounds like it may have riced on you more than seized or both. If it had seized you would of had soap on a stick and not of been able to stir it at all. Let it be and see when you cut it if it needs to be rebatched, it should be ok as long as it doesn't zap.
  23. Today I did a Bastile, Jasmine, Nag Champa, and Patchouli/Chocolate. I have a ton of 1 ozers and made some blends with them. 2 are going into the trash unless they change in a day or 2 and 4 are keepers for limited edition soaps. Played around with some massage bars, good thing I can melt and remelt these, lol. Tomorrow it's some stain sticks, restock on Pine Tar (I hate this one) and a peppermint eo foot soap, and need to make some dreaded lip balms. Sunday heavens knows, I am hoping someone posts a few ideas to try.
