  1. Thanks for passing that along. It looks like a very nice site. I Saw some great recipes there I would love to try. Lot's of great suggestions and info in the resource section on preservatives and such. Sue
  2. I use lavender eo and a few others all the time with out a problem. I add it to a teas. of castor oil or Jojoba oil before I add it to the m&p. May be you can try that. Sue
  3. I agree with SoapMom esspecially about the temp you heat it at. When I am doing alot with it I melt it in my soap melting pot and take a little at a time out to scent and color. The pot keeps it at a sustained temp and this way you do not have to keep reheating. When just doing a small batch I do it in the mirco but only for short bursts, some may still be in chunks but as I am stirring they melt in. By doing this it tends not to over heat. hth, Sue
  4. Thanks I got your pm. Thanks for the help. Now off to make my labels. Sue
  5. Congrats, Isn't a great feeling to do your first one! I can't wait to see your pics.
  6. Please can anyone help me with the ingredients for the sfic goat's milk m&p. I need to make some labels tonight for some that need to be shipped in the am. There site says to email ( which I have done) them for the info but being Sunday I am sure no one is there to answer me. Thanks, Sue
  7. Carol, How about the deepest cranberry color and a medium neptune or jade sheen for a two swirl. That's if my monitor is picking up the colorsright. I am going to have to check out their colors never been to that site before. They look great! Let me know what you go with.
  8. Thanks for the info. I was going to work with the crystals today so I will be sure not to do as you did. I have read to melt the crystals in the already heated oils. I hope you are feeling better this morning and you highly scented house is cleared out. Sue
  9. Hi Carol, I think it sould be Liberty Naturals not nationals. When I did a search all that came up were banks. I tried naturals and got the site I believe you are talking about. BTW I have not used them. It is the west coast and I am on the east so shipping would probably kill me. Sue
  10. Thanks for posting this link, there are some very nice recipes there. UMMMM what to make first! Sue
  11. I have found that too much fo will make them taste weird. Also that adding the stavia or the sweetener to the already over done fo is way too weird tasting for me. I added a touch of honey to some too and it helped but I am afraid to use that because of all the warnings about young children getting botulism from it if they use it. BTW I use the liquid stavia not the powders, no grit but it is very sweet you only need a drop at a time until you get it to the right taste you like. As far as the metallic taste I never had that happen so I can't help you. But I was wondering could it be the Vit. E that is giving you a bit of a taste if there is too much? Sue
  12. I too am at the Whisk, If I remember right I never received an email saying I was accepted but one day I tryed to sign in and realized I was accepted. I too noticed Olivia has not been around much so keep trying to get in. If you can not get in after 10 days (Ithink) then you have to reapply. Lots of informative things there. I love it here the best though. Sue
  13. As long as there is no water in it or it will not come in contact with water ( Such as scrubs) it does not need a preservative. I make body butters and never have had a problem with out them.
  14. That looks great. I can't wait to see the cut pics. The swirl looks fabulous.
  15. Very nice. I love the pics and description. Very nice Job.
  16. Thanks , LOL You can stop in anytime as it looks as if we are neighbors. Sue
  17. Great swirls, I can't wait to see the cut pic. That scent sounds great. Sue
  18. They are beautiful I love the colors. Do you scent them? I think the shoes are just lovely. Sue
  19. I made this from all m&p each scoop, whipped cream and cherry are all individual soaps. It is scented in tropical fruits.
  20. YUKKKK! I certainly wouldn't buy it. I don't think it is good business. I don't even let anyone use my testing station at shows with out me helping them to make sure it remains sanitary. Sue
  21. I bought a notebook today to start writting mine down. I learned the hard way to never never keep them in your conputer!!! Your computer can crash. Two days ago I lost all my recipes unless the computer tech is a hero. I hope you find yours. Sue
  22. With out seeing the mold it is hard to say what way you should do this. Here are a few ways. My favorite is the micas. they do sell paints that can be used on soaps. I am not sure where you get then but I think I saw them at michaels. I think the might be acrylic paints but don't hold me to that. Some one else may know. But also you can make the soap then paint them with micas I do that all the time. I just lightly dust them with the micas and a small brush. if you want the colors deepeer then pastel then keep putting on more micas. I find adding a lttile at a time works better then a bunch at once. I also lightly blow on them to keep the dust from building up. I have done it this way also but it is a pain and takes some practice. If the indented area you pour into is a small area then use a pipette to put some soap in then let it set up a bit. spritz with alcohol and add the next. You can keep the soap warm, You have to keep the soap fairly warm and thin for this to work, by setting the different colors in bowls in a hot water bath. Make sure you do not get any water in the soaps though. and make sure you spritz with alcohol as it will help the layers from separating. I hope I explained this ok. Sue
