  1. This sounds great. I am going to have to get some Monoi. I want to try this.
  2. I do not care for Patchouli and Leather but the one I think really gets to me is Anise but I have to tolerate it as it is a good seller. I have to open all the windows and doors, Sue
  3. Wow, That looks great. I love that orange. Great job. Sue
  4. You have to use an oil based colorant. mostly all dyes are water soluable so they do not work even when putting them in glycerin ( that's what makes the lava lip glosses. oils and glycerin do not mix.) I read some where I think at PV that a bit of lipstick will work in oils as they are oils based colors. Make sure they are new lipsticks as the bacteria factor is in old one. Micas will work as I have used some in Massage bars with out any water. HTH Sue
  5. I love the name , To me it brings good thoughts and images. I would stop to shop in a funky named shop like that. Sue
  6. The going rate for shows of any importance and at festivals start at 150.00 and up. some even are as much as $300.00 for 2 days. This is in Connecticut. I have been checking out the prices in New Hampshire too and they are about the same. Maybe you could check on the craft show listing sites online and see what they are going for. Also I agree that you should figure out your costs involved with this major undertaking. Good Luck with it. Sue
  7. I have tryed to swirl too but seems to be more of a marbling effect then a swirl, I do find that if I make a log mold it is better. When I use individual mols it just does not look right. I do find it easier if the soap in the mold is thinner then the soap I am swirling. Also I have been told that if you swirl with the clear and make the log of the white it is easier but have not tryed that yet, Might have to try that tonight! This one is an attempt probably the best ones so far The first 2 soaps. First one is Blackberry vanilla gaots milk and the second is Anise. Sorry it is so large I do not know how to resize. Sue
  8. Thanks for the help. I am going to get the liquid stevia. I guess that will be pretty expensive but BF is diabetic and I wanted to try it in some things for him. They have it at the health food store near me. It will do until I get the sweetener oil in. Sue
  9. I am playing with a lip gloss and added flavor oil but it is unsweetened. I added a bit of equal but it will not dissolve. It just stays suspended. Will it dissolve after a while (it has been 10 minutes since I added it)? It is for the roller bottles. I was thinking honey but will that discolor the oils I need them to be as clear as possible. Thanks for any help. Sue
  10. They all look so good and let me tell you they smell great too. I keep taking them out just to get an FO fix. lol.
  11. I would suggest the white and low sweat clear too. Then after you play a bit and learn more you can add the others. The goat's milk is very good too.
  12. Congrats. My first one was a mess the color faded and the scent disappeared too. Make sure you post a pic. Sue
  13. I get them at a paper goods wholesale supply place here in connecticut for about 2 to 3 cents each. If any one is interested I will send them too you. Cheap shipping as they are very light. I use them all the time. I will be away until Monday night but after that I will be able to get them out. just pm me. Sue
  14. I do that too. I pour it in a tin then leave the spatula out for them to try. I try to leave this one unscented as many people are allergic to certain scents. I make sure I am near the samples area I set up at all times if I can. This way I can help them and talk about the product. Sue
  15. Those are great looking soaps! I can't wait until I can create some half as good as that!
  16. I just checked on ebay and the seller I bought them from is not longer a registered seller there. I looked to see if I had her email addy and I don't. I will keep looking for the receipt from her to see if there is one on it. I also looked under the mold section for another seller that has them but no one does. I am not ready to part with mine yet but if I do I will let you know. They are very tiny only an inch or less in size each.
  17. They can be quite expensive. I buy them on ebay and try to find a good price. Some of the sellers there are not as good as others, I buy from only 2 of them as I tried one of them and the detail was not there and the quality was very poor. I have a bunch of them in many cute things. The train ones are perfect detail, it is amazing.
  18. Bet he won't do that too often. My bf would probably do the same. It would teach him not to put fingers where they don't belong. Sue
  19. Here are some m&p soaps I am doing for shows. They sell so well. I love the silicone molds.
  20. I have used michaels m&p with out a bad smell. It is Life of the party brand right? Maybe you added too much fo and if you added euc. they may be too much together. I think the combo's with the cocoa powder and almond and chamomile may have been a bit much too for the avocado, It is hard to say with out measurements as too what the problem can be. They will not look like homemade and not have the same texture of cp soaps, especially from a mold. A log will help with the sliced look nstead of a mold. Sue
  21. Congrats Candlebean, It is so exciting. I can't wait for mine to be totally done, so I know how excited you are. Good luck with it. Sue
  22. Thanks for the update. I was wondering where my order was. I figured she was overwhelmed. Sue
  23. Looks great I can't wait to try it this weekend. Thanks for posting it! Sue
  24. Your set up ;ooks great. I love the soap great packaging too, Sue
