  1. Thanks !! I have decided to pour a few cases of each scent for the 200 kids fundraiser. I picked up another smaller one that will close about the same time. I am finding being organized is the biggest challenge
  2. Just got 8 cases last week from CMS. They all read: IGI 4630ASC6 Lot # T0806005 Code # (blank) P.O.# (blank) Made in Canada On the label with the weight of each case the date is October 8, 2008 so the cases are a year old. Not sure if that is going to help you or not. Where did you get your wax ?
  3. For all of you who do large fundraisers do you pour ahead to be prepared for the orders or wait until all orders are turned in? I landed a big FR (big for me anyway). 200 kids with incentives provided by the organization for 20, 30, 40 etc candles sold per student. I will have 2 weeks to turn the order around and deliver. Since it is hard to tell how many of each will sell how would you handle being prepared ? I have a plan but am wondering if I am thinking clearly amongst all the adrenalin - lol
  4. I have found that 4630 varies when manufactured at the different IGI plants. I have got 4630 that cuts like butter then other batches that are hard to cut. I know for certain that 4630 from CMS is from the Canada IGI plant and it is the harder kind. Just got a batch in and it is pouring and burning the same. I would still call your supplier to see what they have to say.
  5. I get portion cups from Gordon Food Services but I think most restraurant supply stores carry them.
  6. Educate your customers . . .dipping is better than blowing, per se
  7. Thanks Judy ! I am very bad about trying to described scents but the White Ice smelled clean and crisp . . . hoping that WSP First Snow is close.
  8. I mix NG Yuzu with JS Ultimate Vanilla and have got the closest blend of Patticakes Vanilla Grapefruit from back in the day. Yuzu alone I get a fuel smell when burning, but blended it is great.
  9. J50 is too soft to use alone with tarts. You'll need to blend it with a pillar wax.
  10. I agree Peaks - but also a close comparison would be from Alabaster. I love love love White Tea & Ginger ! On a side note - do not buy from NG, it smells nothing like Peaks or Alabasters . . (lessoned learned the hard way )
  11. How many in a package for $50.99 ?? I was just at GFS yesterday and they had the 2 oz black souffle cups. If I remember correctly they were $5.79 for 250 cups then the lids were 5.99 for 100. Exact prices may be off, but they were not over $6.00 a package. I checked to see if they had the #5 in the triange and it was a #6. I couldn't remember if that was OK or not so was gonna ask here. All I could recall was to look for "5". Will these work for you ??
  12. Not sure where to guide you to buy the full sheets but as far as putting your logo on them I have used iron transfers before when I bought the shaped cut outs. It worked OK but you need a bit of patience with your iron.
  13. If my para-soy candles don't throw in 48 hours I move on to another wax. Are you sure it is 1275 ? Are you sure it is not a bad batch?
  14. If you are not HTML or computer savvy DEFINITELY go with Designer 218. I have used both and WAHM gave me horrible fits. The customer service at WAHM is a forum that is not often quick to reply nor was very helpful for me !! I despised it horribly. Just my 2 cents . .
  15. I would try blending 30% - 50% pillar wax at 143 MP, and tweak as needed. With my J223 (which isn't quite as soft as the 4627) I use 30% of 6228 or KY 143 with success.
  16. I used the 1275 wax a few years back. I would bump up your temp to about 185*, add scent and color then pour immediately after stirring good into pre-warmed jars. I think I poured around 165* - 175*. I used 8% FO load and zinc wicks, and got a great CT & HT. I switched due to shipping costs. I do recall if I let the wax cool before pouring I got horrible white frost like marks so pouring hot worked better for me. The jars I used would sink around the wick once they cooled and I had to hit them with a heat gun to level the tops but after figuring out the quirks it was a good wax. HTH
  17. For myself I have used wire hangers. I cut with them with my wire cutters primarily at the radius area of the hanger. They were not by any means fancy, but served the purpose.
  18. Thanks for posting your candle pics . . .The jar and lid combo is very beautiful !! I ordered a few plastic lids that I will put thru rigorous testing. I feel more at ease knowing others are using plastic instead of metal.
  19. Got an email last night . . .She (Lynne) briefly stated that the new partners are not selling oils to the public. Now I have to break the news to one of my loyal customers who has been slivering off minimal amounts of her last White Ice tart she purchased a few years back . . .I have a feeling she may cry.
  20. I love the look and sleekness !! My primary concern is the customers who may extinguish the candle with the lid. I have heard different customers comment that is how they used to put out the flame before I educated them on wick dipping. Still some people don't have common sense :rolleyes2
  21. Thanks Steve . . I currently use the metal lug lids but found a closer supplier that carries a plastic lid. I have seen big name candles that have plastic lids but I guess I was thinking about the "doofuss" customers that don't have common sense.
  22. No - I sent off an email and am hoping for a reply. I got my fingers crossed but we'll see. I'll keep you posted as to what I find out. I actually still have some Applewood Orchard left from a few years back. It still smells good and is wicked strong . . .
