I think I asked something similar a long time ago and of course cant remember because I never really followed up with it. But my question is what do most of you use for lotion bar containers? I really like the look of the tins, but they are expensive and you have to find just the right mold. I like the tubes too, but not the white deoderant looking tubes, just the clear round, but then I heard that when you push the bottom, the lotion comes flying out.

Amber Romance dupe from WSP is my absolute favorite, something about their dupe is different and much better than the original. Frosted pumpkin from JS flys off the shelf at this point. -

Our neighbors had an old kitchenaid at their gargage sale that I didnt know about til after it sold. She said it worked perfect, it was just old. Sold it for $1 I could have kicked my own ass for that. -

There is spice to this one but definatley pumkin too. I made a bunch of scrubs and butters up last weekend of this scent and took then to the salon and see if I would have any bites. I sold 5 sets which is amazing to me. So I guess I will be making more this weekend of this scent. Even one of our salon suppliers reps fell in love with it and she's all about selling OPI's new pumpkin scent for winter, blah blah blah

I cant even begin to tell you how fantastic this scent is. I have only made it in body butter and scrub, but now I want to get all my autumn stuff out and make pumpkin bars. Its definatly a pumpkin with some spice, by far the best pumpkin scent I have ever smelled.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but can lotion bars be colored with micas?

I ended up throwing it out, but I did make another batch exactly the same, but started a little warmer so it traced a bit faster and used pink sugar and it turned out fine. When I went to throw the old batch out you could see fo that seperated, so must have used to much although Merideth said she soaped the same amount, so who knows. I might have gotten a measurement off too.

I really dont like this scent, but promised a fellow nail tech I would make her some honeysuckle butters and scrubs. Is there such a thing a good honeysuckle and where do I find it?

I might try another round today and see what happens. The measurements had to be off somewhere, but at the same time, it was fine until I added the fo. It even smells bad. I think this one is going in the garbage.

I just put in an order on fri for some Cashmere, pink bombshell, amber desires, more pink sugar, Lovely by sarah jessica parker and Frosted Pumpkin for my swap. Cant wait to smell a couple of them. -
Everything was a room temp just like last night. It had to be the fo,(confederate jamsine) because it was creamy before I added it. I read somewhere to use 1oz per lb because its so light and thats what I added. I just keep mixing it and it wont blend anymore and actually a couple hrs later is still mushy. Apparently I used WAY to much fo for this type of recipe. Oh, and I used the SB. Thank God this was just a lb and with inexpensive oils.

I made another batch of soap tonigt exactley like I did last night. soybean oil, CO, PKO, OO, Crisco. Last nights batch was great, tonight this would not trace for atleast 30min, so finally put my fo in and its pure liquid and everything seperated. Its just plain nasty. I'll take a pic as soon as my batteries charge back up.

Wow, I love the chunks in this soap and the whiteness. Will this discolor, because I love white soaps.

I will post cut pics tomorrow when its a bit harder. I got this little 1lb mold from someone of here and I just love it. Just perfect for our personal use.

I havent made soap in what seems like forever. Anyway this is Jean Paul Gaultier. DH is tired of all my girly soaps. It soaped so nice, I wish I had added black as well.

Sorry, dont mean to nitpick here, but first of all, nothing can be sterilized without an autoclave and sterilizing is uneccesary unless in the medical field. What you want is your things to be sanitized(with soap & water, bleach or alcohol) or disinfected(EPA approved disinfectant). I have had this stuff drilled in my head for the last 7 years from being a nail tech, so it just drives me crazy when no one knows the difference.
