  1. I haven't bought lye forever. What's the best lye source with the best price?
  2. What is this? Its in a coop and ive never heard of it. What will it do for my soap?
  3. What are the best oils or butters for excema? There are so many to choose from but I need what is tried and true.
  4. I havent done m&p seems like forever. I was thinking it would be kind of fun for my soon to be step kids to make some of their own soap. Maybe its a bad idea, I dont know. Anyway does anyone know of a supplier have a kids kit. I dont have a creative bone in my body to make it fun other than putting a couple of plastic fish in it. Any ideas?
  5. See, look how much I forgot in a short amount of time. I wasnt sure if saran wrap would melt.
  6. Tomorrow is my day off and Im finally going to make a batch of soap after being on a 2 year hiatus. I just realised I have no freezer paper or that foam stuff and dont really want to make a special trip to town. Is there an alternative?
  7. Of course I found it after I posted this :/
  8. I could have sworn there used to be a list of all the suppliers and their websites. Where is it located, Im just not seeing it.
  9. I cant believe Im admitting this, I threw away the "bible" all my collections of soap recipes, beloved body butter and scrub recipes....they are all gone. It must have been a year and a half and I just realised it. Looking back through this website, I cant remember anything so I have a lot of re-learning to do. However I want to make a cleansing oil and am putting an order together and need recommondations on what I need for both oily skin and dry skin. Any help would be so appreciated.
  10. I havent made a bar of soap in nearly 2 years because of my divorce. I thought I threw everything out or sold most if a long time ago. Much to my surprise I opened a box and found a few oils, and butters and lye! yaaahooo I am so making some soap for myself. Im sure the shelf life is gone on these but still want to give it a try. Is there a general shelf life for all this stuff? I have some babassu, manoi, cocoa butter then ceytl alcohol and stearic acid.
  11. May I suggest Confederate jasmine from OT. Its very good!
  12. Same here. Although I think m&p is fun and so cute I find cp soap really conditioning to my skin.
  13. Never mind, After looking through millers soap site several times I finally found the page where she made soap balls. Turns out since they are so fresh, they dont need to be rebatched. They rolled out nicely.
  14. Ive started shredding these up today, is there anything I need to do differently since Im rolling these into soap balls as opposed to bars?
  15. After searching I didnt quite find what I was looking for, but am I right when I say that its easier to rebatch if I shred my soap as soon as possible or when its fresh, that its eashier to melt. I shouldnt have to add any water or milk if I just made the soap tonight and plan on rebatching on Monday?
  16. It traced before I even got the eo's in which really threw me off. Ive already decide this is a good time to try and make soap balls.
  17. S a~ W E E T! Its so cool, but it would be really cool in chucks as well.
  18. This is a grapefruit/peppermint eo blend that was an instant soap on a stick and couldnt get my colors in like Id hoped for. It smells good and had way too many oils to just throw out.
  19. Thats also why you need to do your research as well. Everyone has questions, but yours are basics and you will learn so much more reading and researching. WE have all had to put our time in reading and learning by trial and error. You also need to know all your ingredients, even if it is in a base.
  20. Sounds like you have A LOT of researching to do. Just curious how you can have a website with lotions but didnt know if jojoba is moisturizing. Thats one of the first things you need to learn is all the properties of oils. There is a website called millersoap and it will teach you practically everything about soaping. I would start there.
  21. yes, its crushed spearmint leaves. When it came in the mail the other day, my husband thought it was POT!
  22. I haven't made soap in what seems like forever! Got to use one of my new apple green POP colors, they are awesome! Anyhoo, this is my first eo soap and I ended up using .5oz for 2lbs which was PLENTY! So hopefully certain parts dont get too tingly KWIM? But it smells amazing
  23. Ive never made a two color sopa like this and dont want to sound like an idiot but am I right assuming you are pouring the 2 colors at the same time, I just love that effect but am not coordinated enough:rolleyes2
