  1. lol- i was just looking through ebay.com for some baby block molds after i read your post and saw that one and thought i bet thats the one wick mentioned. It looks o.k but a lot of the molds do look a bit mucky but if you dont mind cleaning them first then your o.k. My only reservtion is if this are covered in wax then she has not looked after them well between pours and so there maybe some imperfections that you cannot see if the pics- especially the silicone molds. But good luck if you decide to go for it. How about asking if the seller could split it in to two boxes that way might be cheaper. It may fit in two of the USPS $37 flat rate boxes. I have just placed an order for molds and used this delivery option and i ordered 12 silicone molds. A $37 flat rate box will hold up to 20lb
  2. Why dont you try asking if it will fit in a flat rate box- i normally find it cheaper that way. It wasnt this one on ebay USA was it - http://cgi.ebay.com/GOING-OUT-OF-BUSINESS-CANDLE-SOAP-MOLDS-SILICONE-NR_W0QQitemZ190128232218QQihZ009QQcategoryZ41207QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. Thanks Natt - i actually meant 20kg for delivery but missed the 0 off- duh - I definately want some, but i cant order till a few weeks- had time off work for uni exams last month so didnt get paid this month- so having to limit myself on the candle supplies. Which i am sure everyone will agree is an impossible task when you want to try so much.
  4. Natt- if i bought 20kg of paffafin does the price per kg come down- is the price the same for container and parrafin? Also whats the delivery costs for say 2kg/ Thanks
  5. I really like that wick, how did you do it without one of them rubber plug things that we cannot get here?
  6. HI, for the last two years i have been using parrafin wax, also i do like working with parrafin wax i like the creamy look of soy. I know it is possible to mix your own parasoy, but would it be possible to use mainly parrafin and just enough soy to give it a creamy look- what would be the least amount of soy you could add for a more creamy look, whilst still maintaining most of the properties of parrafin? would 70% parrafin, 30% soy work? Thankyou:highfive:
  7. Natty - i know you mentioned before about selling wax would you be able to send me a price list for your waxes to v_jennison@yahoo.co.uk I am thinking of changing to soy so would like to try a few kg and if i get on with it then order in larger quantaties. Or i was thinking of mxing my own parasoy blend. Thanks
  8. i could do with some high melt point wax how about getting a coop going- i am sure others would join in
  9. Yeah, no harm in dreaming- how about a trip to Texas they have loads of candle suppliers- lol
  10. I've got an ideas- why not have a trip to the US and stock up on candle making equipment while you are there - lol. But dont go to Florida- it must be the worst american state for candle supplies- when i went last summer the only suppliers were micheals and joanns craft stores
  11. from what i read on here, you are best using good quality balloons- just have a look a supermarket, and go for a better quality balloon. Have a look in Asda, they might even have the same ones as walmart.
  12. Thanks for the links Donita- i think i will order some from that first website- and i will have to order your tutorial on orbs to get me started. What type of pressed flowers do you think are best for putting on orbs?
  13. Hey wick, just found this website looks a bit cheaper, you can get a mixed pack of 25 pressed flowers and leaves for £1.50 or buy them single for 4-6p each. Plus free postage when you spend over £5 http://www.devonpressedflowers.freeserve.co.uk May just have to order some to have a go- you have inspired me
  14. £4 a packet wow- i think i will read up on how to dry my own- and hopefully they will turn out better. Dont really want to spend a lot on them when i am only testing. Probably will not turn out as well as yours. I nicked my mums old pressure cooker- something like this would work- try your local second hand market- that were i stocked up on pans for melting wax. Did you do repeated dips to make the orb or did you just hold it in the wax for so long- as i have read you can do it both ways?
  15. Wow, those are amazing especially for your first try- you seem to be a natural candle maker- perhaps an innate talent. where in the u.k did you get your pressed flowers from? I have been going to make some of these but havent yet because i havent been able to find any flowers, tried pressing my own, but they all shrivled and discoloured.
  16. I really like that, i like the layers and the combination of the colours really go. I am after a mold like that, but i want at least a votive size possibly bigger and everywhere only seems to have smaller ones. Would you mind sharing where you got the mold from?
  17. hi it's http://jagsmolds-candles.bizhosting.com
  18. Darla - whats coreys website- Thanks
  19. Hi wick - have you tried fullmoons-cauldron.co.uk for tins they dont sell them in oz sizes but there largest size is about the same as an 8oz tin, it works out cheaper in you order in larger quantaties too.
  20. Oh good. Thanks. I think i will order some if shipping to the U.K is O.K The only problem is i love all her molds- i am going to have trouble deciding which ones to order!
  21. Hi, has anyone used jags molds before - i was thinking of ordering a few mold from them and just wondered if anyone would reccomend them? Thanks
  22. Perhaps your 4 oz isnt really a 4oz then? Did you get them all from Jo?
  23. i have done them orange and yellow layers. Or orange chunks with a yellow over pour.
  24. Hi, the candle source is where i get most of my FO from All of the FO i have tried have had a great hot and cold throw. I normally get the 8oz bottles that way i can try twice as many new FO in one flat rate shipping. And they arrive to the UK really quickly
  25. Hi anjie i order a lot of my fragrance oils from the candle source website. The delivery to the U.K is very reasonable too. Its a set amount think its $10 and for that you get about 6 8oz bottles shipped to the U.K. And they arrive really quickly too more so than the other suppliers.
