  1. I know,I asked keith at candle lights if he could get it but he said he couldnt buy it wholesale so it would work out cheaper to buy myself. He gave me the name of the US Website he uses, but you have to buy a lot at once. He has sold me a few of his sheets for me to try. How about once i try these few sheets, we could order together (Plus anyone else who is interested in the U.K) and split the delivery- as on that site it is $20 no matter how much you order?
  2. Thankyou everyone, i am going to try one as soon as i get my order of wax and decal paper, i am making a forever wedding pillar for a friend. Think i will try it unscented, Ginger i did do a search but they are just a few points that i could not find.
  3. Also can you use any type of wax, or does it have to be a high melt point? I was thinking of either using straight parrafin or 50/50 parrafin/ ecosoy. Would love to try palm but cannot get it in the UK
  4. I am going to attempt to make a forever pillar with a votive insert, however i am from the U.K do not have access to the plugs i have read about on here, do they work just as well putting the glass votive holder straight in? Also is it best making them unfragranced and just scenting the votive? I am going to attach water slide decals so would they attach easier to an unfragranced candle? Lastly would a three inch pillar mold be wide enough? Thankyou
  5. Oh no not that one - will try on that one now. Thanks
  6. No, i havent, i think i wil try resending the email and then if not will try through ebay. I dont know why they havent replied they normally reply back in a few hours. I ust wanted to know how many bottles of FO they could fit in their flat rate $37 box.
  7. Thanks, but i am in the U.K so it would be a bit expensive to ring them. Thats the email address i sent it to
  8. Has anyone has any problems contacting the candle source in the last week? Its just that i need to ask a question about their flat rate boxes before i order. I asked through their wesite over a week ago and also sent an email early yesterday and have still not had a response. They are normally so quick at responding too
  9. We cannot get presto pots in the UK, but i am always on the lookout for something that would melt wax in easier than a double boiler, i came across this tea/ water heater urn on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320134379736&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:middle:uk Would it work for heating wax? Thanks
  10. I bought a yayley mold last time i went to the US from a craftstore and it leaked, so it was a waste of money as obviously couldnt take it back. Dont know whether this is a norm for these molds or not?
  11. [Want to find a nice way of packaging them as single cupcakes. Hoping to find some single muffin containers, those see-through plastic ones. I have never been able to find anything like that in the U.K
  12. did you try the parfinn mixed with gel wick? - will have to try that post them in the gallery when your done so we can see?
  13. yes it was the one i was thinking of- she uses soy wax- so maybe thats why the texture looks different whipped? I wish i knew where she got her jars from especially this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/20oz-Soy-wax-candle-Jammy-Dodgers-Huge_W0QQitemZ280131767353QQihZ018QQcategoryZ3089QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem they are more widemouth ones than i can find, she must have got them in the U.K. would be too heavy to ship, anyone any ideas? I keep meaning to try soy, i will have to buy some from natasha. Why not have a try lightly whipping some soy that may work for hat you want?
  14. I've seen some jars on ebay where someone almost pours whipped wax into it, its so smooth looking, reminds me of the texture of molten marshmallows. i think i have saw the ones you mean- if its the ones i think you mean she uses soy? And i really like her jars too- i wish i kne where she got them from, can you post a link to see if we are talking about the same ones? Maybe its the soy that makes it look different? Have only ever used parrafin.
  15. i have used container parrafin wax in the past to do this- as i find it has more of a whiter thicker texture and just leave it to cool a bit and then pour over the item.
  16. Wick, that auction you mentioned it is finished in a few hours and it is already at $211. I cant believe people will pay that for molds in that state!
  17. O.K posted a few in the classifieds if anyones interested?
  18. i am no expert, but i think the aluminium ones work best as the plastic ones would be more of an insulator and would be hard to seal with the ice cubes - why dont you start a new thread on this- as a lot of the US cane experts(Donita et al) may not look at our UK thread? I will post my molds in the classifieds just now- if any other UKers are interested
  19. Soooooooooooooo 20lb for $37 dollars hey Yes but you do have to ask for the flat rate box as most US sellers have never heard of it. I think it may be new? I have just ordered some silicone mold from jags mold ( cannot reccomend her highly enough- both her molds and custumer service) i got 12 molds in that one flat rate box- plus could have fitted more in if i wanted to, or more like if i could have afforded too:grin2:
