  1. I've been soaping for a year now and these are a few of my anniversary soaps. I've got plenty more but will share them at another time. In another thread I will share my Kitchen Drawer soap:grin2: after I fooled the gremlins and fairies by making LS they left me alone and I was a maaaaaad soaper:laugh2: 1.Lavender-Patchouli 2. Island 3. Castile 4.GM and carrot 4.GM.
  2. I love RA's fragrances. I've sampled many of them and there were only two that I hated.
  3. Very pretty! but how well can she walk in them? guess you have some testing to do:wink2:
  4. It is pretty anyway...I see someone else has been bitten by the layering bug!
  5. It really doesn't smell like rotting fish..lol...that's what rancid oils smell like though. I would try OBN & Bamboula's shea. I haven't tried Bamboula's cream colored shea but I plan to. I do know that OBN fragrance isn't as strong as the others I have tried and it is a off white color. Very mild in fragrance as shea goes. I like their shea for B&B as well as soap...fabulous!
  6. I threw it out. I make laundry detergent the same way as I make LS I simply use a different formula and add stuff to it and it cleans as well as any of the commercial brands. I did try the snot making method once though:laugh2: and it wasn't any fun. If I had known that cp soap snotted easier than fels naptha I would have used that for my first attempt...
  7. I've worked with unrefined shea for the past 4-5 years and have never had any that smelled like that. I've purchased it from at least 3-4 suppliers and the coloring varied. I've used beige, cream and lt green. And all of them had the natural shea fragrance but NEVER so strong it made me want to light candles and all that. Is it possible that you had an old batch? when oils go rancid they can get pretty funky and shea already has a sort of smoky scent. If I ever purchase anything that smells like that, it's going back. I also prefer the unrefined shea because it has all the goodies that has been removed from the refined.
  8. Yep, verrry slimy and snotty. I made some by mistake while soaking my croc that had left over rebatch soap in it. I forgot about it for two days and when I went back to it, there was a half pot of slimy snotty liquid soap that smelled really good:laugh2:
  9. 11 bad batches? I know where those fairies and gremlins went when I drove them out of my house! I had three bad ones in one day and that really made me take a few days and do something else...there is always something else to do.
  10. I've always wanted to learn the lost wax method of casting. I had a friend who was a dental tech and he woul cast his own molds and make jewelry it's pretty much the same method as making dentures. If I ever find enough time I will eventually learn to do that. I can set stones but never cut any and that would be fun I think...Enjoy!
  11. That waterfall makes me feel instantly relaxed and the colors are quiet and peaceful. :highfive: I need peace and quiet when I shop. This is what I look for when shopping online. 1. the site has to be easy to navigate and free of neon fonts and black backgrounds. 2. Security 3. Short and sweet product description 4. Prices 5. Shipping/Returns Even if I didn't make B&B products I wouldn't want a long drawn out description of whatever it is your selling. I know what I want and I don't want to spend too much time reading about it. I think you've done a great job so far.
  12. Ok, I read about the hot lye mix melting hard oils somewhere on these boards, too. I am thinking about a method where hot glycerin is used for the lye and was just wondering if anyone has actually seen it or done it and wouldn't mind sharing pics:cheesy2: yeah I know, asking way too much..lol but some things I need to see. I've got a crazy idea but I would only share if it is successful:embarasse
  13. Directly to the oils and then added the liquid? I'm trying to figure something out and was just wondering about that:confused:
  14. Just wondering how did that brick red oxide work for you. Everytime I use that it bleeds no matter what amount I use and I'm gonna throw it out one of these days:mad:
  15. Nah..my daughter makes those as well as the slave bracelets.
  16. I don't use plastic for mixing B&B products. I use only stainless steel or glass and I've got 8 qt ss mixing bowls and they work fine for gallon plus sizes of lotion and LS. I also use ss stock pots for larger batches. I use steralized plastic containers for storage and in the future I will store everything in ss...hate all the issues with plastic:mad: but I end up having to package it in plastic...unless i research other alternatives...hmmmm..END OF RANT:cheesy2:
  17. In a few days I will be a year old addict. My soap of choice is LS though. I still make the other kinds but LS makes me:drool: oh and I saved a few of my very first soapies and they are awesome after one year. There is one particular where I blended fragrances and it is as strong as it was the day I made it. I wish I hadn't given any of it away now...:rolleyes2
  18. Nice! I especially like the two color tilted one. I did one a few days ago and haven't had time to post any pics. The burgundy & cream is beautiful and it is my favorite color combination. I've tried that with a brick red oxide and that stuff drives me crazy with all the bleeding. Thanks for sharing:)
  19. Is there anyone willing to share a photo of this liner while in the mold? I really dislike lining molds too..ugh. But which is better, the mylar or this stuff?
  20. If I didn't make my own emu lotion I would be tempted to try hers:whistle:
  21. I like the disc caps as long as the bottles are squeezable. If not, they are a pain to use unless the soap is almost water thin. I also like pumps in the shower as well at the sink. Foamers were made for kids so I agree with that as well as using it for shaving cream.
